It's not only about the timing like told in the video, but sometimes your arms start to bend up higher, making the rope shorter and therefore you hit your feet. Try focusing on keeping the arms down while jumping. A mirror or reflection in a window can help with that. Good luck.

Rushi, thank you. It’s the missing link I have been looking for. I’m past 80 now and keep jumping, though still trip up. I have bone cancer and the treatment keeps knocking me out. I may not feel like doing any work-outs, but the moment I pick up your rope life falls back into a rhythm for me. It makes me feel good. Maybe I should take one of your classes to iron out the wrinkles.
Keep up your amazing passion and videos. A huge thank you!

I’m 62 and have been on the learning curve since July, into my third month. I feel this effort is worth it, because I can obtain the necessary fitness routine without having to soldier through running at length with nowhere to go when in need of a washroom. I can train within proximity of the facilities. Secondly, I have a high cholesterol reading since I started jumping rope. I mostly went for 5km. walks prior to this, but it was obviously starting jump rope that raised my cholesterol reading. I have since cut out all coffee and have discovered that starting a fitness routine can actually lead to a false cholesterol reading - which is positive.

When I first read your comment, I thought it was bad cholesterol you were meaning and I was thinking, 'how can that be' so went off to make my own quick research. To balance you comment, I copy and paste this paragraph taken from a medical website. ''Research conclusively shows that exercise increases blood levels of HDL cholesterol over time. This “good” cholesterol shuttles LDL particles back to the liver and ultimately out of the body. Even moderately intense aerobic exercise can bump up HDL.''
BTW, I'm 69 weighing 96 kg after having lost 10 kg since March 2124 and I've also started to try and jump rope, but it is hard work for me jumping with any consistency as I don't have the stamina currently, but you just have to stick with it and never give up is the way I see it.

@@RobertsBulgaria I went through iron supplementation with Iron Bisglycinate (25mg) to correct my energy deficiency, hoping to improve on my energy levels. I supplemented for 100 days starting a Boron Glycinate(3mg) on a 12-hour rotation with the Iron(iron in the morning, boron in the evening) starting 30 days after commencing Iron Bisglycinate. I went through oxidative stress throughout the entire supplementation period. Then, after completing supplementation, I read it will take 3-4 months before feeling the full benefit of the Iron-Boron supplementation, because you wind up with hemochromatosis. I speculate that the supplementation regime need only take 90 days in full. I’m 2 months into recovery from iron supplementation, and just starting to sleep better.
Once my energy levels improve, then it’s on to jump rope again.

Great channel, bro. Subbed. All about timing. I'm pretty new and I'm still getting slapped up a bit sometimes. On another vid, you suggested using a mirror but what worked better for me was to use my phone to record myself. It really helped to show that my hand position was trash when I was learning crossovers.

Now when I mess up a bit but can still save without stopping the rope from spinning I'm feeling/listening for "The Window of Destiny." (Sounds like some mystical portal) I can save it by hearing that rhythm, that moment of opportunity aka Window of Destiny, to catch up my footwork and save the effort altogether. Funny how we stumble upon a statement like this, but I can feel what it's about.

Just started at 57 years of age. I’m in the same boat, very slowly I can keep the rhythm but when I try to speed up my hands can’t keep up with my feet. I just can’t turn the rope fast enough. Gonna try the rope to the side and listen for the clack.
