I have multiple ropes with the Rush rope being one of them. All my other ropes are weighted so I've gotten used to their timing, momentum, and how much wrist I need to use to spin it. But the Rush rope is so light that I seem to have to work harder to get it moving. It also seems to be affected more by the recoil from the floor than the weighted cables ropes. My stall mats in my garage gym have a small raised diamond pattern and I'm convinced it affects how the rope the recoils and messes it up as opposed to a smooth surface. Maybe it's all in my head .🤷🏾♂
A lot comes down to the fundamentals. Look how smooth Rush skips with a more “basic” rope. It’s just a matter of fine tuning fundamentals and finding the right rope length. I can’t go back to the average rope with a ball bearing because I feel like I can’t fully control and manipulate the rope in the way I want. This is especially true when doing advanced tricks like a mic release or wanting to get a quick snap on crossovers. However I understand the debate between heavy vs light ropes as there are pros and cons to both. Heavier ropes provide more feedback and overall are a better workout. Light ropes are very fast and fun, they can be really intense cardio and you can really do some insane tricks.
