- #2021GDP #SoutheastAsiaEconomy #2022outlook
Gross Domestic Product ranking in Southeast Asia based on International Monetary Fund World Economic Outlook, published last April 2022.
Southeast Asian economies will recover “at a slower pace” due to threats brought by the Covid-19, at the same time, economic damage from the war in Ukraine which triggered inflation. Fuel and food prices have increased rapidly, hitting vulnerable populations in low-income countries.
Global growth is projected to slow from an estimated 6.1 percent in 2021 to 3.6 percent in 2022 and 2023. Advance economies grow at a much slower pace from the estimated 5.2 percent in 2021 to 3.3 percent, and 2.4 percent in 2022 and 2023 respectively. While Emerging Market and Developing Economies’ growth is projected from 6.8% in 2021 to 3.8% in 2022 and 4.4% in 2023.
Emerging and Developing Asia is the global growth leader per region, growing from 7.3% in 2021 to 5.4 percent in 2022 and 5.6% in 2023.

Considering Singapore’s economy is closely tied in with China, their fast growth to almost $400 billion GDP is questionable. Like Taiwan and Malaysia, Singapore’s GDP has all of a sudden experienced a surge just to keep up with the Philippine GDP numbers. Why are these countries faking numbers just because the Philippine economy is on a quick rise? These Chinese types and Malaysian Malays are too worried about Philippine growth.

So on your data there was only an increase of more or less 12 billion for the whole yr of 2022 of 12 b. That is impossible considering phil as the fastest growing economy in 2022. I suggest that should be corrected.

Malaysia Q1 2022 GDP grew by 5.00 %, hopefully in Q2 2022 the GDP will grow by 7.00% supported by high palm oil prices, increase in domestic spending (due to Hari Raya) as well as high crude oil prices of above $100 per barrel (Malaysia is a net exporter of petroleum and gas products).
Data by Bank Negara Malaysia (central bank) also shows Malaysians generally received higher monthly wages up to 10% increase in 2022 and the RM1,500 minimum salary per month will further encourage spending and growth in Malaysia. Overall the GDP of Malaysia is expected to grow between 5.30 - 6.30 % in 2022

This is the latest data from IMF published last April 2022. The link was provided in the description section for your reference. Thanks
According to other sources, Vietnam ranks 3rd. Can you show references to whether you are fair or not?

@@aseananalytics Why don't you give up the information on the other side? There is evidence suggesting that Vietnam ranks 3rd in ASEAN. You can't trust your information, only citing the IMF on one side.
