    YES, those forearms drove me CRAZY trying to get them to line up properly. I'm so glad that I wasn't alone on that.

    The forearms were the same for me, but I found that all you needed to do was use a metal pick like the end of a tweezer to get things to line up.
    It’s very satisfying to get it to click in though.

    The only thing that makes me unhappy about this kit was the inside of the torso, it's still basically a hollow cavity in MS mode, it basically relies on a very short, thick peg on a swivel joint to keep the entire half in contact. I found that swiveling or manipulating the torso or the shoulders causes it to loosen really easily, and then you need to fold out the entire front flap of the chest and line up that stupid peg from the head while pressing the peg back in. They did a great, great job with the hips and the legs on this kit - the torso still needs a total re-engineering with more robust locking mechanisms. As soon as that swivel peg loosens, it becomes a floppy mess again. Never had any issues with the forearms. Also, this looks better than the 2.0, it looks like it walked straight out of the ZZ anime, absolutely fantastic. Love the proportions. The 2.0 looks like the high grade GEP, just scaled up. It always drives me crazy how much they reduced the width of the shield.

    I love the Zeta Gundam, always have, but it's kind of a thing where I just... have made my peace with the HGUC revive's parts-forming just because I have no interest in how much of a headache the transformation always is.
    Still, for a true transforming model kit, this is probably THE best waverider transformation to-date.

      @@dainatalvirk6853 nah bro, Ver Ka. is miles better overall, but manny people prefer the desing of the 2.0 wich is much closer to the actual katoki desing than the Ver Ka is ,while ver Ka. is the closest to a tv version of the Zeta Gundam.

      Honestly, the Ver Ka is way more solid that the HGUC revive. I've had to take my revive apart too many times to count to tighten the joints, especially the floppy hip joint and the leg joints that can't hold up the weight.

      @@joaoduarte4552 I don't think you know what you're talking about, Hajime Katoki designed the 1.0 master grade and the Ver Ka (obviously), he did not design the 2.0 version. The people who say the literal Ver Ka doesn't look like a Katoki design always make me facepalm, man. Go read Katoki's design notes, they posted like at least 3 articles with comments, design notes and draft drawings by Katoki himself.

    Zeta Ver Ka is leaps and bounds better than the 2.0 Zeta. At least it the team had more time to iron out all the major problems before launching it. Zeta 2.0 on the other hand feels rushed and nailed in to meet a deadline, so it could be available as the Zeta movies were coming out in the cinemas back in 2005. I would recommend the Ver Ka over the 2.0 as it don't require so much just to get it work out of the box over the 2.0. Been waiting for an update of Zeta for a while, and hell was this one hell of a wait, but it delivered everything I always wanted the updated to do out of the box that the 2.0 couldn't.

    I personally prefer the more "anime accurate" aesthetic, especially due to it lining up with the rest of MGs from the Zeta series. I've always preferred the anime accurate look or for the MG line to have the same aesthetic from the series. Nothing more maddening that seeing the Zaku II 2.0 and the Gelgoog 2.0 next to each other and see a stark contrast in aesthetic. The waterslides were most definitely a pain and seemed like they went with another manufacturer for them, much lower quality than the usual. However, my kit does not have the gap in the arms like yours has and neither does a friend of mine so maybe its a defect in the product or something.

    • @tedhodge4830
      @tedhodge4830 8 місяців тому

      My 2.0 Zaku II and Gelgoog 2.0 are standing right next to each other on my shelf :P
      I wasn't sure about all of the silly panel lines on the Gelgoog, but at least the nice salmon color matches, and the proportions on both are still great.

    Nailed my sentiments. Ultimately the Ver.2.0 is a little prettier and sleeker in both forms, but on balance that's really all it has going for it. The Ver.Ka is just a better model everywhere else, and is an excellent companion piece to the ZZ Ver.Ka. The build is a definite slog, though, especially for the torso.
    The Ver.Ka's anime accuracy is so striking. In many scenes within "Zeta Gundam" the anime, there are places and angles where the Zeta's angular aesthetic really sticks out and almost looks off; the Ver.Ka replicates this shockingly well.

    The forearms were driving me crazy until I discovered that you MUST get the yellow part FLUSH with the blue part and then it's fine. I had to push on it all different directions to get it to go in because it's very tight.

    The reason why I decided not to buy the Zeta Ver ka was because you don’t get all the accessories that came with the 2.0. The hyper mega launcher and a action base should’ve been included, given the fact that the Zeta Ver Ka costs another $20-30 more than the 2.0.

I hated the decals, as a Ver.Ka enthusiat I hated them, I wonder if they changed the formula or the paper, I have no idea but the decals sucked big time, I had to replace so many with the leftovers of the FA Thunderbolt, sinanju stein and Nu and I could easily tell the difference on decal quality, I was really dissapointed

    I think the problem with the way you built the arms is that you put the thick half on last, when you're supposed to put the thick part on first and then steadily line the thin half. Already got a clean build myself, even disassembled the arms just to do some cleaning and detailing before doing it all over again. It's not really that hard if you're steady.

    Given that MG MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam Ver. Ka is as good as it is, that means we're probably going to see a lot of P-Bandai variants based on this. Probably things like:
    - MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam (Wave Shooter Equipment Type)
    - MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus A1
    - MSZ-006C1 Zeta Plus C1
    - MSZ-006-P2/3C Zeta Gundam P2/3C Type
    - MSZ-006-3A Zeta Gundam 3A Type
    - MSZ-006-3B Zeta Gundam 3B Type
    - MSZ-008 ZII
    - MSZ-009M Mega Zeta

      Zeta Plus wouldn’t work, different proportions from the Zeta, and the Zeta Plus kits never shared any parts with a MG Zeta. ZII has more in common with the ReZel than it would this kit, so I highly doubt this will lead to a ZII either.

    Building them back to back, I definitly prefer the verka both aesthetically and build wise. 2.0 is great but it is showing it's age build wise and has a lot of easy to break areas. Easy fix by not being a gorilla, but sometimes things happen. Also I'll take color separated eyes over a big ugly eye sticker any day.

      The Zeta Plus kits never shared parts with the MG Zeta Gundam and preceded the 2.0, and the proportions are pretty different. I don’t see how they could reuse any of this with a Zeta Plus, unless Katoki redesigns his own original design.

    So my Zeta 2.0 stands just fine. I think the problem is that for the transformation the feet slide deeper into the lower legs but if you grab the heel and pull it should click into a lower position and it SHOULD be able to stand just fine. If this works for you let me know and if you want a picture of mine standing, again just let me know. Also very much agree with your opinion on the looks of the Zeta Ver ka. I'd argue that its a 50/50 split. And more remnant towards the time of the shows being released. With the modern shows having far more surface detail compared to the older ones for obvious reasons. Another reason I feel they went with the more anime accurate design was to match up with the MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0.

    I totally agree. 2.0 is faithful to Anime and line art. You have the most honest reviews as always. Most people are just hype because its a ver.ka and bandai is releasing fewer MG. This isn't bad by all means. But it's not the best. Nor a kit killer.

    • @tedhodge4830
      @tedhodge4830 8 місяців тому

      The 2.0 doesn't look like the anime or the line art. Some things to point out, the legs are way, way too long, it's too slender, the torso is out of proportion to the way it should be in the line art, the shield is way too slender, probably less than half the width of the shield in the anime and the line art. The forearms and hands are way too small and the wrong color. The Zeta's torso and waist are way more compact in the line art. It's unnecessarily stretched out, which doesn't make sense since it'd be mostly useless as a shield, whereas it looks like an actual shield in the anime. Honestly, even the Ver Ka doesn't get it right either if you look at a side by side comparison, but at least it tried, and it's close enough while still making modifications to suit some modern design conventions. I think the Ver Ka made the hands too big, though, that would be one place where they could have kept it more in line with modern designs.

    • @sanictheedgehog
      @sanictheedgehog 12 днів тому

      It looks more anime accurate to than the 2.0 honestly. 2.0 is a good kit and I wasn't super hyped about them making a verka when the 2.0 already existed, but actually building both kits back to back, I totally get it now. Verka is just objectively a better kit. Aesthetically it's objective, for me it's the verka again though. Shame about missing the bazooka and a good stand though.
