  • This is a mid 70's top of the line Oster Imperial Pulse Matic blender with the cycla-matic feature. It's 825 watts and the machine is made of real chrome metal, not plastic

That's a beauty! I have an Osterizer 12 speed from the 90s. But it doesn't have pulsematic feature or look as sharp as this one. It still works, BTW. I need new seal rings.

Cool machine. I am looking for a vintage Oster blender and thought I'd see if anyone on YT had made videos of their machine. Glad you did. I was looking for one that could make smoothies. Hoping to find a nice 514 model rated at 780 watts. I just saw a nice Cyclomatic version rated at 825 watts. I was curious as to how the pulse-matic or cyclomatic works. Thanks for providing a nice video on that.

Just so everyone knows,my parents gave me theirs and years ago they told me there was a recall on these for a shock hazzard and they were offered a cheap plastic one to replace it and they decided no. I still use it to this day.

Thanks Pete, I never knew how that control worked. Its sort of like Ghost blending!

I'll add that my Osterizer 12 speed from the '90s has a very weak motor: 400 watts. If I'd known it was going to last so long, I would've gotten a more expensive model. Curiously, the model # is nowhere, NOWHERE, on the unit or in the literature I got with it. My little Osterizer is adequate for normal blending and believe it or not, makes a pretty good smoothie with frozen strawberries (although I have to tamp down the produce to help it along).

I just purchased the avocado green version of this exact blender! It's in 9/10 condition but the jar is plastic? Did these come with plastic as an alternative to glass? I was wondering what these are worth? Thanks!

what is the maximum RPM for this unit? Is the wattage on this unit the standard wattage for the other Oster blenders of that time (up through now), or was it more or less than the standard wattage?

Video mentions this unit is 825 watts. I would like to know if this model crushes ice. I'd like to purchase one of the old Pulse Matics but most from this era that I've seen on ebay are only 400 Watts and I'm concerned they won't handle ice. I've currently got an old Sunbeam (made by Oster I think) from this era that is 800 watts and it just kicked the bucket. It wasn't great for ice and it didn't have as many speeds or a pulse function like this Pulse Matic. I wonder if I need to look for an "Imperial" Pulse Matic to get the higher wattage and ice crushing capability or would a 400 W do the trick.

+Graham Way I have the Osterizer Imperial Pulse Matic all chrome and it does crush ice. In fact I make smoothies every day with frozen fruit not a problem. My model # is 652A and it is 825 watts.

I spied one of these Oster Imperial Cyclomatics on flea-bay rated at 825 watts. I think I'll head over there and grab it up. Thanks for the reply.
