I have a higher chance of dying to the Cvirus then actually going flawless in destiny 2 in trials. I have yet to find a streamer that isn't asking for an arm and a leg in subscriptions to help me to go flawless.

I’m pretty bad at the game but even I can tear up with a Lorentz driver. And that explosive headshot is just a cherry on top. You can shoot once and get credit for three kills

I’ve been watching vids like this for about a season trying to improve my 0.8… I now have a 1.6 with 140+ matches this season and have 2 flawless compared to 0 prior I just wanna thank you for these tips
You forgot about the all powerful DMT! the infinite range hand cannon’s big brother with a last word built in
It use to be amazing, but the nerf killed it on console. Its hip-fire aim assist feels almost as bad as Hush on console now, which is unfortunate. T_T
It's still a wonderful gun on Console if you can either get used to the Hip Fire or use something like a Fusion Rifle to conver the close-mid range where the hip fire used to be so dominant!

Great list! You covered pretty much all my favorites. Depending on the map, I run Messenger/Duality, Eye of Sol/Shayura's, Uzume/Multimach, or Heritage/Darkest Before.
i would love to see an updated sniper tier list based on the flinch received on them, aim assist, zoom etc.

This isn't exactly what you were looking for. But Castle Content did a fairly in depth guide about the Uzume sniper 2 months ago that also showed zoom, aim assist, and flinch on all other snipers for comparison.
Crucible sucks
I love eye of sol, but I have an Occluded Finality with opening shot/snapshot and that feels like it has much aim assist as a chappy
I can't get a roll on eye of sol with snapshot I have 10 rolls on it rn
That thing is a freaking telescope, that’s probably why it has so much aim assist. I envy you for being able to make it work with that amount of zoom.

Trust me, the time to kill you can get on this is crazy. I think you can hit upwards of high 90s to low 100s for damage on crits if you set it up perfectly.
Interesting thoughts, I have darkest before basically destroys any other weapon in a 1v1 between 15-40 meters, but I do think surplus is required for the consistency boost it gives

Main Ingredient probably needs a mention. Range is insane and the roll Xur had a few weeks ago is crazy.
I appreciate you putting judgement & fatebringer on a semi-even playing field in the same spot. I love fatebringer & have a good roll on it. but judgement is just aesthetically more pleasing to me and feels way crispier to use imo

Darkest before, high caliber rounds, stability masterwork, slideshot, elemental capacitor, and void subclass. Amazing stability and great range when you’re sliding and amazing consistency
Another shotgun that I feel is hugely overlooked is Lord of Wolves. It’s easier to use than slug shotguns but it can BODY people and even supers. It’s biggest flaw is that it isn’t a one shot, so you have to play around that. But it still does a one burst body shot kill, and does so good now with the pellet shotgun nerfs
It’s not the most effective but it is extremely easy to use. I think thats the main benefit.
I absolutely love the long walk and have been using it all weekend in trials very successfully.

@@nikiplayzzz4623 there is a roll that can defeat all fusions on the Cartesian coordinate. I have it. But it 10 meters or less. Ttk though is .65 body

Dire Promise with Rangefinder feels really good.
I find myself using it more & more over my God rolled Fatebringer (non timelost).
As annoying as they can be, Fusions are also super powerful right now.
All I've been using for the past couple weeks is the Cartesian coordinate fusion rifle. It's a BEAST with under pressure and high impact rounds combo.
I don't even play D2 anymore but I sat through this whole video just fine bc that's how well-edited the vid is and how calm your voice is. Quality content!
What about DMT? I know it's a scout rifle but with the catalyst hip-firing is insane. Anway, great vid!
I definitely think fractethyst and DMT belong on the list over things like darkest before.

Love my, True Prophecy with opening/explosive. Great for team shooting and peaking.
Probably only ranks an honorable mention in this list though.
I would love true prophecy if it had better stats. Especially in the stability department, it's just miles below igneous hammer. Great perks tho
The new stasis shotgun, riiswalker, sojourner’s tale, and found verdict are all also great shotguns. Nothing compares to chaperone though
I'm more of a Long Walk fan for my sniper pick. It sounds good, looks amazing, high impact, very solid perk pool and its in the energy slot so i can pair it with dire, thorn, ace or mulitmach.
Your transition editing is pretty great
I feel like hawkmoon is commonly overlooked. It feels a lot easier to 3-tap with on controller than Ace without mori, and I feel like the one-shot, or even two-shot, is easier to get in trials since people tend to dodge away after you hit them twice. I'll usually use it with a sniper since the range isn't as good as Ace, and if I really want to counter shotguns i'll use handheld on novawarp. I'd say hawkmoon with a good random perk like rangefinder or moving target is comparable to palindrome but with the bonus of having a really strong exotic perk.
Hip fire grip isn't half bad on the hawkmoon either. Makes it good for short range, since you're running a sniper with it
Rangefinder hawkmoon is the best 140 in the game.
HawkMoon is criminally underrated
yep if you could get something like corkscrew, rangefinder, smooth grip roll, it feels like something between ace and thorn.
@@lordkira9791 I use a hammer forged rangefinder smoothbore currently, actually want one with chambered or extended for the 100 recoil direction.
Chroma rush is probably my favourite weapon in the game, you can get an auto rifle with a 70 round mag, subsistence and rampage or for pvp you can get rampage heating up with acurized rounds.
Bullet hose go brrrrr. Real nice to watch the chain flinch cause people to start shooting the ceiling
I have a multimach with iron reach, model 8 red, accurised rounds and a range masterwork and it SHREDS from so far away
I got a multimach with model 6, steady rounds, dynamic sway, and iron reach. It may lack the damage rolls, but it absolutely glues to the head and has 0 recoil. Its one of my favorite dueling weapons because it just doesn't miss.
hey shadow, what program do you use to preview the stats of weapons by selecting from the perk pool, like at 12:15. This would help a bunch as a newer player trying to plan builds for the first time. thanks so much for the tips btw, love your work

The reason why the Ace of Spades has so many amazing traits on it is because it’s a “loaded” or “stacked” hand. Gotta love how Cade-6 liked to “gamble.” Seems like he didn’t leave everything to chance after all 😉
Dakest before with Surplus + Full auto is a great pve and pvp gun been loving it.
The weapon I haven't seen is traveler's chosen its very underrated and catalyst literally helps alot especially on console. I used it alot this season because it's very close (baroque) drang but better stats.

Peacebond is such good weapon on controller. The gun is an amazing sniper or Lorentz pairing especially when using the harmony perk. With rangefinder and harmony you can do some crazy stuff
i have a pulse monitor/swashbuckler roll with some ridiculous base stats that i use alongside Lorentz in PvE with my Nezarec’s Sin - Void Elemental Well build + particle deconstruction. (running bottom tree nova for devour) I love it so much.
Certainly not top 12 but it’s def a fun weapon with some cool possibilities. Also sniper + sidearm is just rly sick 😂

Some honourable mentions imo would be the snipers from the Raids Last Wish, Garden, DSC and VoG, all of them are super good with the right rolls, and I've been blessed with one from each
Chaperone igneous hammer has been my go to combo for the past.....2-7 hours (lol) and I've been loving it so far
DMT felt really good the last two Trials weekends on Cauldron and Bannerfall
I have an adept Messenger with Outlaw and Desperado, and I use Adept Range. Love it in PvP and PvE
Personally? I think that the DMT, even after the nerfs is probably tied with the Igneous Hammer. It out-ranges 140s and Pulse Rifles by a mile and still has the hip fire for closer ranges. The only real downside to the weapon is that there aren't too many maps where you can bring that range advantage to bear.
He said across all platforms, it is still strong on PC but kinda irrelevant on console now
The fun part is most maps you don't need to ADS, but the gun is better if you don't anyway! I just see ADSing with DMT as a "I guess I gotta aim for once! Bah!"
As amazing as Desperado is, my favorite perk on high impact pulses is Headseeker. I usually tend to gravitate towards consistency perks instead of kill activation perks and HS just makes 2 bursting easy and reliable.

Yea Dmt just insane since you got a built in 120 rpm hand cannon with infinite range and a 150 rpm with faster movement
I believe one significant weapon missing here is Dead Man's Tale.
Though the hip-fire accuracy and hip-fire range at longer engagements were slightly nerfed, NOTHING else was.
In ADS the insane power of DMT is incredible, stacking more damage per crit shot up to x5, at which point it can two-tap most mid-resilience Guardians (or, with Charge of Light/Empowering Rifts/Weapons of Light, two-tap all Guardians).
It can roll with various perks but the top three for me in PvP are:
- Moving Target (faster movement in ADS and extra 10 aim assist)
- Killing Wind (multiple buffs per kill, especially range and handling)
- Vorpal (15% extra damage against Supers)
The latter is the ultimate PvP perk, but I prefer Killing Wind for overall engagement usage.
DMT is a monster in PvP and can punish peek shooting Guardians.
Snipers and certain slug shotguns are it's main competition (Chaperone and Duality are difficult to challenge), with Vex also being difficult, but against most other types DMT is Insanely good.
No special requirements to activate, just crit shoot and enjoy extra damage that increases per crit shot.
When getting pushed at close range it's fairly accurate in hip-fire mode and fires faster up to 150 rpm, giving you a chance to win or trade in a duel.
Best weapons to pair are extra long range SMG's, 450 rpm or 491 rpm sidearms, and higher high damage pellet shotguns or opening shot slug shotguns.

I think Sunshot is SUPER underrated. A 150rpm handcannon with explosive payload and dragonfly intrinsically, a 12 mag, almost max handling, good range and stability. It does have very bad visual recoil and no Icarus grip but thats a small price to pay
If you ever try PvE, Sunshot with Wrath of Rasputin, equals fire explosions everywhere. I want to run Sunshot and chaperone but alas two exotics

HI shadow i would like to say that the vex mythoclast has a small charge time in default firing more before the weapon shoots a 0.2 second charge before shooting in default mode just letting you know love the video~♡

I know you mentioned it during the vid but tarrabah shreds at distance and has one of the fastest ttks I’ve seen ever. With a perk that turns it into a 900rpm and triple the damage it destroys shayuras and multimach

The way I see vex right now is very similar to the auto rifle meta last year. It has a quick TTK that’s very comfortable and can oppress a lobby if it’s in the right hands. It’s VERY strong and will probably receive some kind of nerf but it will still be good.
My favourite weapon for PVP and PVE is the exotic einous effigy. Especially the transmutation spheres they spawn

Haha thanks! Arctic Haze is a 720 auto and they aren't exactly meta, but stuff like that and Chroma Rush can be viable. Definitely not in my top 12 though.
@@ShadowDestiny thank you for the reply! I’ve been having fun with a bunch of different weapons in crucible recently. My new go-to hand cannon is Vulpecula with Polygonal Rifling, Steady arounds, outlaw, and Adagio. I’m hunting for killing wind Adagio though.

I've been an Eye of Sol main for awhile but I got a God roll Adept Uzume this week and decided to give it a go in trials. Fell in love after just a few games. It's significantly snappier than my Eye of Sol, I prefer kinetic primaries, and the rest feels just as good if not better. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't.
I got a quickdraw celerity igneous hammer and I love it
I got polygonal rifling, light magazine, moving target and desperado on my messenger and it’s just a work of art
Couldn’t agree more on the Vex. It’s good. I don’t think it’s as strong as everyone makes it seem though.
Would love to hear your opinion on aggressive frame pulses (so really just sacred provenance) I have both an outlaw/KC and RH/Headseeker roll on SP and both of them just absolutely shred
Sacred Provenance with rapid hit and either snapshot or kill clip, depending on what you value more in a gun. Quickly became one of my most-used primaries in the game
Such a slept on Pulse that’s why I love using it.
Bite of the fox with snapshot and opening shot. Kills supers, bodies some people with charged with light/high energy fire, has a unique 43 zoom, and I like the scope.
Glad LFR for pvp getting love. I felt like I was the only one using then since forsaken.
just checked my recent multimach, oh damn I have Killing wind and Kill Clip on it haha never really noticed because i dont use the smgs too often, time to change up my play style lol
Thanks for this vid. As a player just getting into Destiny 2, it's been difficult figuring out the meta, let alone how to get any of the meta weapons. Sounds like I can't get most meta weapons unless I'm max light level in order to get those better drops from raids.
One note that would make this video even better would be if you included the name of the gun on the screen when you mention it. Half the time I had no idea what gun you were talking about.

great video am surprised to not see thorn or main ingredient though. i think thorn is still amazing especially considering its high handling stat and the main ingredient that xur sold is so consistent u can fly through the air and beam people.
Survivors epitaph is a good substitute hc and stars in shadow is the best energy legendary pulse
Hey another question, which mod impact the most in a Adept Sniper rifle (currently Uzume or Eye of Sol) adept range or adept targetting? It's more like which impact the most, range or aim assistant
In the current meta, always keep a risk runner on you. I ended up using it non stop in freelance trials this weekend.

What about the rapid fire frame scouts: (Contingency plan, Servant Leader) both come with kill clip, tunnel vision, no distractions etc. Have great range and handling, the ttk with kill clip active is absolutely daft, and most importantly they are super forgiving/beginner friendly and compliment a variety of other weapons (shottys, my choice of pairing it with a 180 hand cannon for close/mid range) fusions etc… just my thoughts anyhow 🤙

i completly agree with the vex postion ive used it and as good as it may be it isnt as good as people say i much prefer other exotic weapons
Vigilance wing is a monster in a pulse meta and works well with a fusion rifle as their ranges compliment each other

A Powerful and fun to use gun in control and sometimes trials depends on the map is most definitely the cloudstrike sniper rifle.

Ace is definitely my favorite hc ( only thing it's lacking is icarus ) It can even 2 tap with memento + a charge of light with high energy fire hitting somewhere around 108 dmg per head shot !! What makes it insane is the infinite duration of the memento ( which is essentially a better kill clip imo ) So if you have memento and a charge of light, you could wait the whole game before going for the 2 tap unlike 120s with kill clip ( and even better, ace is a 140 !! )
I had a good bone structure with quickdraw snapshot + Icarus and it used to be so good. Basically felt like chap + in air accuracy and I could have another exotic on. I wish it wouldn’t have gotten sunset lol
I missed thorn 😢 it’s probably not that good anymore, but I just love it, especially if you manage to get the soul devourer rolling
