- Today we're ranking every non-sunset sniper rifle into a tier list for Destiny 2 PvP. This video explains the Crucible rankings of each sniper and gives you an idea of what snipers are the absolute best.
This tier list evaluates the ability of each weapon to excel in a variety of PvP modes including Trials of Osiris, Competitive, and 6v6 Control. This means we're evaluating perks, stats, and the overall "feel" of each weapon to determine its ranking.

New Snipers:
-I'd probably put the Twilight Oath in the A or B tier. It has some great perks and the new version of it can roll with much higher range than the previous curated version ever could. Low zooms got buffed, overall amazing. Can't take out supers effectively whatsoever.
-I'd put Tranquility in A tier now that it has snapshot. It gets bonus points for sounding SO insanely cool haha ;)
-I'd probably put the Shepherd's Watch in the A tier. Great perks, decent stats, but 50 zoom (I prefer 45).
-I'd probably put Long Walk in the B tier. It's a decent sniper with interesting perks like Overflow (never reload!), but it's a 50-zoom aggressive with kinda poor stats and Frozen Orbit basically does everything it can do except better.
-Father's Sins: Similar to Twilight Oath. A tier. Super super visible, clean scope. Can get opening shot under pressure. Even without snapshot, that is a deadly combo. I'd still go with snapshot though.
-Thoughtless: B tier. Decent stats, decent perks, but reticle sways a lot when strafing.
-Silicon Neuroma: S tier. Amazing stats, snapshot and opening shot is the best perk combo in the game. High impact, low-ish zoom. Good for aggressive snipers and damage boosters like Lumina or CWL.
Wouldn’t change any- look exactly where they need to be

@Aidan Hall I rolled one with Full Bore + accurised rounds + snapsights and Iron Reach AND range MW. The range was so much overkill that I'm actually looking for a roll that doesn't waste perks lol

But the Plug One seems to do a decent job for a good destiny 2 version, just like epicurean did before it got sunset.

Shadow: Occluded finality has a ridiculously long range scope.
Me who's watching the gameplay: I mean, like doesn't look like your having a problem with it.
If you can get used to the scope, I get more free headshots with Occluded than any other sniper. There's something weird going on with the aim assist, or accuracy or whatever.

How I figured this out was by looking at Rare weapons like botheration or Aachen which are both kinetic and energy but they were facing different ways

I would put bite of the fox in S tier, its 43 zoom is actually really nice for that larger FOV, it has higher handling than frozen orbit, and the snapshot opening shot roll is prolly the best you could ask for on a sniper
Plus its kinetic right? not very many of those that are good and as obtainable.

It's such a solid sniper, I used it to get the revoker(which got sunset about a season after) and got pretty good at sniping with it, I miss mine a lot since it it sunset
If it wasnt for the arrow crosshair then I would have def used it. Prefer the lil circle like on orbit.
Best unsunset roll i have has threat detector and moving target so not the best rolls either.🙁

Or the very odd addition of the multishot sniper "Riiswalker"? It has 100 range with the right perks very good for those long to short range encounters.

I'd like to note that the cloudstrike (my favorite as well) does not need to get a precision kill to bring the lightning. You only need to get a precision hit. So if for some reasonnyou hit a Guardian in the head and they don't die, it will still summon the lightning.

The far future was my new favorite sniper, my first roll last season was quickdraw+opening shot. One of the most consistent feeling snipers I've ever used. After the nerfs to quickdraw though it just handles way too slow.
it's not that bad, quickdraw nerf hurts the most on the lowest handling snipers and far future isn't one of them, it can have frenzy which is usually up all the time
Just farm it for Fluted barrel +handling masterwork combined with sniper dex and sniper targeting. It feels like it did pre nerf
Consider surplus. Mine feels just as snappy as I need it 90% of the time and I can usually build into keeping it more consistent. Worth the effort for me considering how much fun it is to use
Note on the occluded finality: zoom over 50 gets bonus aim assist, and zoom below 50 gets reduced aim assist, as per the recent (ish) nerfs. This makes occluded finality feel like it has opening shot 100% of the time even on a roll without opening shot. For this reason it is s-tier if you don’t mind the zoom, which I feel people become trapped in the mindset that high zoom = bad.
Thats how it used to be pretty much. A lot has changed so yea ur pretty much right. But low zoom allows for more “cod-like” clips which is why ppl like em
Yeah, I've been really enjoying the occluded finality, it feels like I can't miss. As long as you don't try to use it in close range, you're fine (and even then, cuz of the high range stat, this thing hits so many noscopes).

As a titan shotty main, I got challenged from my buddy’s to hunter snipe for the next two weeks. I got Adored and the ornaments at the time, but I was never that great with the snipe. Then I found you via the collaboration with PattyCakes while looking to get back into sniping. I just wanted to know, with witch sniper to start again - and what do you know, this vid popped up. It’s nice when things work out 😁

16:04 Eye of Sol has very good aim assist though. You can miss the other player by far but randomly get headshots.

I’ve got an Omniscient Eye with Full bore/Fluted barrel, Accurized/Tac Mag, Snapshot/Mulligan, Handling MW. Lemme know if you wanna give it a spin for some clips.
Lately the Snapshot/No distractions Frozen Orbit has been my main squeeze tho.
Personally occluded finality is an S I found myself hitting more shots than adored even against apes up close

13:55 Seraph Rounds has the hidden benefit of increasing your zoom factor in the same way that ricochet rounds did a few years back. This isn’t a stat boost to your range as if you had Accurized Rounds, but is instead a mini Rangefinder.

Just subscribed to the channel and I love your tier lists they are very helpful. Side note: my Bite of the Fox has Fullbore, Steady Rounds, Rapid Hit, and Explosive Payload. It feels good to me but I want know what you think.
Love my bite of the fox with SS/OS and thankfully just barely missed being sunset. The chevron reticle took a min to get used to but it’s not so bad anymore and I feel like jump shots with this and icarus makes it surprisingly accurate
Also, occluded finality is actually a pretty good sniper in my opinion. I haven't sniped much since back in the revoker days, but with opening shot and it's high zoom adding to his aim assist value, that reticle gets pretty magnetic even on mouse and keyboard

Just got a snapshot moving target long shadow today, absolutely great for 6v6 and although it’s not the absolute best, it puts in some serious work

Came here to see if the frozen orbit was any good cause I got a snapshot moving target roll earlier today in crucible. Definitely happy to hear it’s so good
I rolled both a snapshot opening and a snapshot eye of the storm. Ran with both for a while. Eye of the storm is a must have over opening shot fro me as it takes a slight bit longer to line up targets with the zoom... yet I also find it easier as I’m playing on controller and that extra zoom Really helps. I like to pair it with the one mod that restores radar immediately after ads so I can snap in and out and still keep track of what’s happening on the field as the higher zoom does hurt forward awareness. Probably not for everyone but currently my favorite.
I love my succession with reconstruction and snap never worried about reloading
I got an Occluded Finality with snapshot + demolitionist and when combined with cold snap grenades let’s you take out large groups of enemies from across the map with ease then refuel your nade to do it again. For some reason I actually prefer it’s Hubble telescope zoom to other snipers, probably because of how clean I think it’s scope is. Definitely one of my favorite snipers.
Something about the reticle on the succession makes it my favorite

Questions regarding Occluded Finality’s zoom:
In your sniper tutorial, you spoke of keeping field of view lower so as to keep targets heads a bit easier to see/shoot.
Could widening the FoV potentially assist with slightly decreasing Occluded Finality’s high zoom stat?
My assumption would be “yes” due to the differences in the tutorial FoV side by side comparison, but if not, would that mean Bungie patched all snipers to base zoom despite FoV settings?

Nice work shadow. Darci is my favourite sniper and I feel is often overlooked. I'd put it in A tier simply because of it's ease of use. It's a great sniper to use when learning to snipe ✌🏻

Occluded finality is S tier! Once you get used to the zoom it's so sticky to people's heads. I have a half decent mulligan opening shot roll, wish I had your roll!

I’m not a particularly adept sniper I usually run pulse rifle/shotgun and stick to mid range engagements and then clean up with my shotty but I’ve been sniping more lately and I have a long shadow with moving target/snapshot and I have to say it feels so much better than my adored

The benefit of occulated finality having crazy zoom is that it also gets crazy aim assist. I got a max range one with snapshot opening shot and it feels almost broken, as long as the map is big.
Honestly I'd bump up occluded finality. I do completely understand the complaints with the zoom cause it's basically the hubble telescope but as someone who crutches shotgun HARD, I was using occluded finality and the new exotic sidearm and I was having a ton of fun with it and was succeeding with doing well with the sniper :)

Twilight Oath with 100 handling from Elemental Capacitor when using Arc subclass feels like it has both quickdraw and snapshot. I'm hunting for Surplus-Elemental Capacitor and Mulligan-Snapshot. Also, I've been farming for Surplus-EC or Under Pressure-EC on Tranquility. I love Tranquility's scope and that it's a kinetic.

I have a Eye of Sol with Tunnel Vision and Snapshot, also Bite of the Fox with Moving target, and Snapshot. Both amazing snipers. I have an ambitious assassin and Snapshot Frozen orbit which is not too shabby. I have not gotten another with snapshot and a better perk next to it.
A moving target, snapshot sights longs shadow finally dropped for me and oh boy is it crispy!
