I love my 2022 Carbonize Gray F250 Tremor with the black appearance package, 7.3, matching tinted windows… and the 4:30 rear diff works very well. Sure, independent front suspension helps ride quality, but solid front helps carry loads and towing. 7.3 gasser is a good bit lighter than the diesel and that definitely helps off roading… and can mod the 7.3 to get up to 1,300 HP! 700-800 easily. Get what you want.
Very competitive comparison with these two. Even though the gmc has a little better aesthetics outside, ford has the interior and im taking a powerstroke over dmax. I also am partial to that solid front axle over ifs.
Facts- The Ford F350 6.7 better for ride, towing, long term reliability, definitely carries more class than any other truck on the road. American made diesel engine and best interior.
You are correct on the 3500 for GMC. I think all they need is a slight lift, locker, and the same tires as the 2500. I don’t plan on jumping my 1 ton so I don’t need the fancy shocks lol
GMC lost me when they went to the 2020 HDs, I couldn't tolerate the 8 foot tall front end or those tow mirrors. But that's just opinion. However now having driven an F-350 for 4 years I really know what I was missing. Ford makes trucks, GM now makes toys for looks it's as simple as that.
My Silverado 3500 LT was $73k and has a 4k lb payload. I put a Cognito 4 inch lift and 37s. Looks bad ass, better than both these trucks. And when AEV starts selling their bumpers it’s game over. Should have compared the AEV edition since the Ford is a top of the line platinum.
The Ford Gas and diesel have more power but more importantly get the load down the road better. I have a 7.3 and just drove a 6.6 gas cause I felt the GMC looks better...but no way is there enough grunt to pull my 16k boat and skid steer. The tranny shifts way different and under load felt anemic. The dealer was gracious enough (bought a few vehicals from them) to let me hook up my skid steer cause otherwise the truck rode and felt great not under any load. The dash looks better in the GMC but everything else I prefer the Platinum...especially the seats. I will most likely get another 7.3 platinum in 2025 unless GM gets a few more ponies and tranny shift schedules at better rpms to work with the torque of the motor.
So you're sayin a dealership let you hook your 16k skid steer to a vehicle you don't own and go for a test drive? And the additional 11 lbs of torque in the ford made a huge difference?
@@mikelang8753 Yes that's what I said. The tranny is also different in the way it shifts. The dealer is in D'Iberville MS. We have bought a few BMW's from them and my partner has a 24 GMC Duramax. The salesperson really wants me to get into the GMC. For me it's right down the street and would be so much better for service. It just didn't work and I don't want diesel.
No death wobble on a 24 platinum tremor. You can take your hands off the wheel at 90 if you wanted and it would do dead straight. Most cases it’s due to a bad alignment or level/ lift kit that causes it.
@@Billybob50119 lol doubtful if it’s lifted right it won’t happen only when people get cheap kits with coil spacer lifts without proper shims. Carli, bds, and wicked all ride perfectly even better than factory even.

Another great review. Thank you. I’m trying to decide what to buy. I live in Ohio and there are a lot more GMC s available in the Denali Ultimate and AT4x than Ford Platinum / King Ranch Tremor package pickups. I love the look of the GMC but I’ve learned that the more highly defined looking vehicle will usually become dated sooner than the basic “Ford” look. My wife can clearly tell the difference between the past GMC HD and the present HD. However, she can’t easily tell the difference between the 2017 HD and the 2024 HD. Of course the RAM is king of keeping the same body / interior the same for decades. One other advantage the Ford offers me is corrosion issues are rare.
I haven't bought neither of these trucks. Because I want to find out the most reliable longevity one. What has the better power train for longevity? And that's the one I would buy help.
Good review. I have the Ford. I do like the stance on the GM though and you didn't cover the skid plates. Off road the GM has the advantage with better off road tires. But i agree with the rest of your observations.
Agreed than not adding the AT4X to a 3500's option list is a fail. I wouldn't buy a 3/4 ton with a personally diesel personally. It eats up too much of the trucks payload. I would just go straight for a one ton if I wanted something more capable than a 1/2 ton. Going with an 1 ton doesn't add a bunch to the price over a 3/4 ton either. A 3/4 ton will ride a little nicer though, but when managing a heavy load the 1 tons really start to stand out over a 3/4 ton.
Man those new Fords just are goofy looking setting beside a Chevy or GMC. They look ok beside a non LED Ford but wow they are hideous beside a Chevy. Also I’m glad you called out the rear floor of the Fords. They have been that way since 2009 model year (F150s) and it never gets talked about. But there is a clear difference setting in the back of the GM.
The ford will smoke the gmc. Had the 2022 gmc duramax. Traded in for ford tremor f250 . Ford has more power and is more solid has a solid front axle not a cheap front end. Previous super duty was definitely better looking and I’d prefer that over any of these. The GMC’s grill belongs on a 77’ Cadillac Couoe Deville with a chrome lady with wings. GMC looks way better on the exterior but it has very unresponsive brakes which makes it unbuyable. The ford drives so much better. The ford grill is ugly. I want the gmc looks with ford drive.
Don't know what you're smoking, backseat on the GMs is enormous not to mention I want my beer cans made out of aluminum...not my body panels, that when you get into a minor fender bender fold up just like a beer can.
Ford is a solid option that is completely ruined by its utter and complete exterior ugliness. I’m sorry but absolutely nothing can make that thing look good from the outside. It’s like ford engineers gave up. My only option was a 24’ GMC really which is a shame because that ford interior is pretty damn compelling. I just could never be seen driving that thing though lol
