I just bought a 2024 F450 because, as you pointed out, the Lariat Utltimate package represents the best value for the money. After watching your video, I’m glad I didn’t wait to order a 2025.
JB - the background music is far too loud. Went to the configurator and built a couple F250s, starting with the XL; I was stunned how fast the price shot to low 60s. I added the 7.3 to get the 10R140 heavy duty tranny and was forced into the STX and XL driver assist. By the time i’d added fifth wheel towing and other minor add ons…63K!!! 😳😳 To say I’m stunned at the increase in pricing and lack of choice would be an understatement. I guess Ford’s business model will continue to be “F you, we don’t care!” Thanks for the info. 😎🇺🇸
I have a 2022 Lariat with the ultimate package. I wanted to move to the platinum with max recline seats heads up display and H. O. 6.7. I really wanted the tailgate camera and sensors. I am truly DISAPPOINTED by what FORD has done. I was looking at the GMC 2500 Sierra. But in researching related to getting a fifth wheel in the future. The F450 won out took a complete year to get my Lariat trim with led lights. Now they want to cheat us or at the least force us into a trim package with items I don’t want. Mainly the twin panel moon roof and power running boards are not wanted at all on my build.
They didn't reduce the price by removing standard equipment either. They raised the price and make you pay even more for options that you want. Ford is headed in the wrong direction.
And they think us truck guys won't notice? 😆
I'm really disappointed. I did a lot of research and took a lot of time (over a year) doing HD truck shopping before I finally settled on Ford and I've been really happy with mine so far. But, if they're gonna continue to pull stuff like this moving forward, my next truck will not be a Ford 🙁
You are correct, I have a 2023 Lariat I am thankful I do. The 2025 is taking away the leather seats, ambient lighting, power sliding rear window, power steering column adjust and the factory installed keypad entry. Their greed is out of control. They already make the most profit on the Super Duty trucks. Also as you said, why the hell take out the upfitter switches. They are used by me and many others for plowing , lighting, air compressor etc.
I just took delivery of my 2024 f350 platinum tremor 3 days ago. I’m glad I didn’t pass it up for a 2025!!
In a 24’ F350 Platinum Tremor 7.3
Built it exactly how I want it. I’d be ticked to by a 25’ and have to spec Pro Power onboard as an option. It’s standard on my truck. So is the now unavailable tailgate down camera.
A big change is now all 7.3 trucks will come with the Torqshift G transmission (10R100) that the 6.8 trucks have been using. My truck has the 10R140 transmission like the diesels. So that’s a big change that’s going un-noticed by a lot of people. The 6.8 is also standard on XL, XLT and Lariat now. The 7.3 is an upcharge.
Ford is on a big manufacturing cost cutting mission to maximize value for their shareholders. They should be focused on maximizing quality and reliability. Leave well enough alone. But that doesn’t drive the stock price.
I did not know they bumped you down to a weaker transmission for the 7.3. That's messed up.
Call me old fashioned, but when I ordered my 2022 F 250 it was like pulling teeth trying to build what I wanted which was a comfortable rig for towing. Even at that time I wanted a simple truck, none of the fancy stuff for urban cowboys and such. Ended ordering a XL because of the packages that were offered included items that I did not need and did not want. A 7.3, full length bed, 5th wheel/gooseneck package, cloth seats, 4.30 locker rear end with a spray in Ford bedliner, duel batteries and alternators, upfitter switches was the basic build, came out to about 46,000 ish. Went into the Ford app once again this year to look at a 2025 and saw that the increase with the about same package was about 60,000 ish. I think I will hold on to mine till the cows come home or win the lottery.
I just got a 2024 F350 platinum dually in glacier gray for 9k off MSRP. Absolutely love it and is my daily. Glad I didn’t wait for 2025. Yes super happy i bought now because I got all the platinum goodies that are optional on 2025. Very informative video.
BTW, the platinum rides astonishingly well. I’m coming from a Ram 1500 with the air suspension that made it ride like a Cadillac or Mercedes. I thought surely I would miss it (and there are some things about it I do miss), but in terms of its overall drivability, I don’t. It’s amazing what they have done with 1 tons and especially duallies in this regard.
From what dealer ,9k off is great
@@skeim5620 Gullo Ford, Conroe (The Woodlands) TX.
@@Erich3966 That is a heck of a deal, I only got mine around 5.5K below MSRP and I specially ordered it.
Totally agree on ambient lighting
Picked up a well optioned 24 lariat ultimate tremor 7.3 1 ton. Flew to get it instead of waiting 6 to 9 months. The winch option went up around 1k over the past few years. Absolutely love truck. Glad I didn't wait. I built a 25 and it was a couple K over, but couldn't add leather, so maybe the build guide is jacked up. Didn't see confirmation on the power pedals, power adjustable wheel, heated/vent seats, type of headlights. In the comparison guide it still lists leather and power adjustable steering wheel, tailgate down camera, so I'm not sure that is up to date. If I would buy a 25, I'd probably go with a higher trim level.
I’m super happy I bought my 2023 and didn’t wait for 2025.
I am super happy I bought a 2024! I do not like what they did, here. I am happy I bought my XLT with what I got with it.
I’m super happy I pulled the trigger on my 2024 Limited F450! Not having the tailgate down camera and sensors is crazy in my opinion! One of my favorite features that Ford offered until 2025.
I'm now super happy with my 2024 .. wow now I feel like I stole it compared to the 2025.
@@RandyMaldonado-n3c Same here
Here is the biggest change. The 7.3 engine is no longer standard on Lariat and below. The 6.8 is the new standard.
That's what I read too
@@jeffgrise4386 Thank goodness I ordered by 24 F350 with Antimatter, XLT Premium FX4 and Sport trim with the 7.3L. For the price of the 25 it looks a bit more.
Makes GM taking away the leather wrapped lower door trim seem like a upgrade. 🤣🤣
Give em one more year, guarantee you GM will do a noticeable downgrade too, they're more slick about it though. Not excusing Ford just saying, all of the big three do this.
Ram doesn't generally take stuff away but that's because they're hardly ever adding anything lol
@@SliderFury1 right lol
Gm has done things in the past like 2005 removing cloth material in change for plastic on the door panels and also in 2007 removing rear ac vents so their door leather removal isn’t that bad hopefully they don’t take it further in 2026. But fords been removing things since 2019 but after 2025 they have removed way too much. The 2017 fords had folding rear headrest and cd players they removed in 2019 and just been removing small things since
@@JoshuaOverman dang I didn’t even realize that.
3 Super Duty's in the last 8 years almost. The only thing mentioned that would bother me, is no sliding rear glass and upfitter switches. All three(17,20,23) of mine were lariat bc I was able to option them out without getting that tacky stamp on the tailgate. 2-250's and now 350 dually, all Lariat. The upholstery for the seating would not matter at all to me as that material is pretty nice. We had it in our Expedition. More interested in the changes to the powertrain if anything, because that's why most people buy Blue Oval anyway. Just sayin'.
Been a loyal Ford Super Duty customer for the last 25 years. Have never kept a truck past 80k miles. I will be keeping my 21 F350 Lariat until at least 26. I won’t be dictated to on a vehicle that costs 100k
Ford has lost so many customers. We purchased new Lariat super duty’s for our business every 2 years. My son purchased a 2018 Super duty platinum. He recently purchased a new truck and couldn’t justify buying the Ford again with all the price increases. I totally agree with you on the leather interior thing.
Thanks for point these small but important changes. I’m going to be getting a new truck at the beginning of the year and am now praying I will be able to find a 24 when the time comes.
It's bad. And yes, I'm extremely happy I got my 2024. A good chunk of the reason why I ended up with Ford, and a Platinum specifically, was for the tailgate-down camera and sensors.
And you know that for 2026 when they do another refresh, some of this might come back or they'll add a bunch more other next features...and increase the price even more.
Hey JB, Thanks for the video. Like you suggested, people may want to find a 24 on the lot with the options they want. The longshoreman strike may affect truck manufacturing leading to shutting down the plants. Hope not but as we learned during the pandemic, supply chain problems can really screw things up.
For my build, the 2025 is a step backwards. $90K went to $92K similar equipment. Platinum, 7.3L, Tremor.
I'm glad I've ordered a new truck this year and not waiting. I'll be picking it up next week.😎
For 2017 when the aluminum Super Duty was all new, you got full ambient lighting with the ability to select between a number of different colors. That was standard on a Lariat Ultimate. By 2019, you were down to only one color of ambient lighting. Now it’s partially gone. Back then you could get the large 8” LCD instrument cluster display on an XLT…by 2018 that was removed and you were back down the the 4.2”. Ford still makes probably the best heavy duty pickup, but it’s very annoying how prices always go up but features disappear.
The changes stink
That's exactly what they are doing. Forcing you to option up.
I wish they would offer a standard bed with the tremor package
This! My only regrets on my 23 lariat ultimate tremor- more cargo and just a bit stabler towing with the longer wheelbase to offset the larger tires which tow worse
"Shrinkflation" despite the public complaining about insane prices.
If I cant get one with X-Plan pricing I wont be getting one at all.
I am happy I bought the 2024 F250 Limited. I wanted a 2025 but found out they were going to deleat the limited in 2025.
Pretty soon we will have to pay extra for the batteries and steering wheels.
So happy I bought my 2022 lariat in 2024, and 25k less than the window sticker just 1.5 yrs ago.
Still has warranty till Dec 2025.
Let someone else take the hit
100 percent iam glad i bought a 24 f350 platiuim. i would not be buying a 25 if i didnt buy the 24.
After waiting to see the information on the 2025s, I pulled the trigger on a ‘24 F250 6.7 Platinum in Glacier Grey for the same price as a loaded Lariat ultimate tremor.
Got a 2024 platinum tremor, glad I got the year I did. I wish I could have got it in a blackout package, but not worth it if Ford is taking away option on the platinum that came standard for 2024.
They got rid of Iconic Silver too which was the color we wanted. I do like the truffle interior much better than the blue and white of the 24 Limited.
The keypad on the driver door is now optional too. Almost $500!
I’ve been a diehard Ford customer for several decades. I am not happy with Ford & their changes for the 2025 model year!
I ordered a new 2024 King Ranch S.D. a couple of months ago. This was the first time Ford almost lost out to a’24 RAM H.D.
i got my 2024 platinum starting at 87000 canadain dollars with employee pricing ,
I'm glad I bought a 2024. I don't like the changes,I like what I got with everything they are putting opinion on the 2025.
Currently have a 21 lariat ultimate black out package! I was considering a 25 (limited) platinum plus now. So changes are not as big of a deal! Where the prices are I have decided to wait until they 2nd year of the next major revamp!
For me the biggest issue would be the power steering column and the keypad on the the door. But u can get it as a d i o
Does any of the options they took from the lariat come with the lariat ultimate package.
When you have to pay the union wage increases, you have to do something to offset and still maintain your profitability. Without knowing for sure, I would assume you will see the same "Scaling Back" in all lines. Glad I have my '24 Platinum F350! Thanks for the review and information!
I’m looking for a XLT tremor f350 6.7 diesel with the Gooseneck prep for towing a 18,500lb gooseneck and a medium sized trailer (6-9k) . Do you think a XLT tremor be a good option for towing because the video you made of a XLT with over 4K pounds of payload
Sure it will, my 24 lariat has over 4k payload actually it's 4,137lbs.
JB!! What is the best 1 ton dually to buy today?
My biggest fail with the ford f250 XL base model is they should of kept the 6 speed transmission has an option with the 10 speed a lot of die hard ford fans are still not happy with the 10 speed transmission
Unless I’m completely missing it, I cannot find an option for leather seating on the Lariat or Lariat Ultimate. Is that possibly a Tremor option?
People get the lariat just for the leather seats
Removing the camera and sensors on the top of the tailgate is crazy. I thought that that was an incredible piece of equipment for those that are towing. I have no idea as to why they would do that.
They discontinued tail gate down camera because the new 150 tailgate is coming which swings open and they couldn’t have both. Also power sliding rear window is still an option on lariat.
Basically the new lariat is the new XLT😂😂😂
They got rid of iconic silver I’m pissed 😡
I am actually a huge fan of making equipment options instead of standard or part of a package because not everyone needs all the options a package might include. For example I ordered a 2024 F-350 Lariat and simply wanted front bumper sensors and the upgraded B&O but you couldn’t get that without taking the whole 5k ultimate package so I did without. What’s it hurt to have these things as options and maybe make a package as well? Of note I just did a build and price on my truck with the same options as a 2025 and it was 1705 dollars higher as a 2025. Just a comparison for folks.
I really want to know who decided and why to get rid of the limited and call it platinum plus. It’s basically the same thing, except the name of it
So, if they have deleted all of these items off of the Lariat, then is it just an "XLT+". So do we now have the choice of 2 XLT's?
I just ordered a 2025 F350 6.7 h.o. in the platinum plus package..And something that you didn't mention is that they discontinued the exterior key pad across all models..
A feature that I use all the time ! Just my two cents on this video..
The doors don’t automatically unlock if you have your key fob on you?
@Inmate533 .. Yes, they do with the fob.. But when the fob is in the house and you just need to retrieve an object from inside the truck it won't be possible now..
And sometimes I leave the fob in the truck and lock it with the key pad.
@@redsuperduty1 Ah, I got ya now. The keypad would be handy to have. I would use that all the time too. They don't even offer it as an option anymore?
@Inmate533 ..dealer says it is an aftermarket add on..A cheap stick on pad..looks tacky af..lol
You missed the trailer brake controller on the XL is now an option.
I have Active X on my 2021 Explorer. Sad to say, I like it better than my leather in my 2024 F450. It's softer, VERY durable. I have 50K miles on my explorer, ZERO wear, and I mean ZERO. The rest of the changes are terrible. In fact they ADDED a ton of stuff to the 2024 Lariat that wasn't in the 2022 I ordered, so the fact they are stealing it all away sucks. Wonder if they are giving you two manual locking hubs now? Can you look? I am VERY happy now I ordered and received the 2024 F450 Lariat with all the goodies.
We need the F450 pickup available with the 7.3 gas. Some need payload and don’t want to deal with diesel emissions and maintenance.
Glad I got my F250 Lariat in 2019. All options that I need and wanted were available AND the build quality was still good. The newer stuff is JUNK and way overpriced. Guess it’s just another indication of how much the US has declined the last 4 yrs! Sad!
Instead of taking stuff away they should have added things like 4wheel auto and mirror camera.
The lariat buyer want the 6.8 or 7.3 engines. Counties, cities, businesses are still going to buy those stx and lariats. And tell the truth those seats in that gmc are not that comfortable. Go get you a ford tremor limited plus, I have a feeling you want one, lol
Not happy about the removal of the SuperCab Short Bed (SCSB) option. All my F150's (four) were of that configuration. I know I'm in a minority with that option, but I find it very useful and convenient. Glad I bought my '23 XLT SCSB last year. Also, the outright brand wide removal of keyless entry pad and making it a dealer installed option is disconcerting. It's a $445 upgrade and I understand it's now a real turd.
I really don't care about Lariat's, KR's, Platinum's. Never going to go above an XLT. To many fancy features beyond that trim for me. Whatever features lacking in that trim level that I wanted but were only included in the outlandish packages, I have added piecemeal. In fact, I am adding 10-way power drivers and front passenger seats now using 2021-2023 F150 parts.
Heck, in reviewing the 2025 order books, if I was to order a new truck tomorrow, I'd probably just go down to an XL with Off-Road Package or maybe even splurge into an STX.
So glad I bought a 2024
You think Ram is bad, Ford is becoming a Joke.. Not only that, I'm seeing so many people having issues with their Ford trucks. If you are going to rip people off, make sure the truck at least runs.
Fords cut cost worse than any other brand gmc and Chevy even with their history of cheaping out they are doing the best right now with not cutting cost. Ford is being stupid right now this is no way to treat their best selling vehicles.
I dont agree with ford getting rid of the Limited name, and making it Platinum plus....like really..
thank god i ordered a 2024 platinum f250
I’ve Had A 2024 F450 XLT Ordered For 6 Months Now. I really Doubt That It Will Be Built For 2024 Before They Close The Books. I Built The Same One For 2025 And Noticed Even The Keyless Entry Is Now An Option And The 6.7 HO Is Now A $3k Option Vs $2500 For 2024. Looks Like Ford Is Pinching Pennies 🤷♂️
Getting ready to buy a truck. Just got rid of my 2008 ford F250 Lariat. Looking at ZR2 HD or Lariat Tremor. All the stuff they took off especially the sport package, so I quess it will be ZR2. I do not like the Ford grills except the sport package grille.
The background music is too loud and annoying. You can't hear what you are saying.
I agree! Way too loud!
I hate the power steering wheel up and down. I bought an f150 specifically without it
No im not happy with the changes, i ordered a 450 lariat W/ the ultimate package 9 months ago and am still waiting for a build date..
Ford has been de-contenting and adding price for while. Power Pedals is one previous example. Your list on the '25's is more proof of this approach.
Gotta please those shareholders with increased profits and dividends.
I've tried, but have never been able to be a Ford fan. The interior has always felt so cheap compared to Chevy/GMC and Ram. We have several Ford models at work, 22 and 23 250's and they are nothing but trouble. All of the 22's (diesel) have had engines replaced. Maybe it's because they were government purchases, but it's all I have to compare.
GMs suck and RAMs belong in the ghetto.
No I’m not ok with them glad I have a 2024 Lariat Super Duty
It will be a while before I trade it
:( missing too many thing.. don’t want to but may have to purchase platinum uggh..
If they want to save money and make the truck cost effective is, I don't need trailer back up assist, scales or stuff like that. Most of us tow the same trailer set up the same way, unless you're a hot shotter or something and they usually don't get high trim levels to get those anyway. Waste.
The thing is if you add certain items then it changes the whole package. Not good, l guess l am buying a 2024.
XLT is the best package and it is 25,000 cheaper
I do not like these changes. Was waiting for the 25 but now I will look for a 25
The only reason I like Ford is the 7.3L, not smothered in emissions crap, yet.
No more chrome tow hooks or chrome tailgate handle on all models.
I'm not happy with the price of any truck
Bidenomics and Kamalanomics
AT4X not available on 3500.
From a long time subscriber - cut out the music!
Y’all keep building up debt to look good for friends and family. Stop buying these things 🎉
Removing standard features while increasing prices. This is just reducing perceived and actual value. What kills me is them painting a picture as if they are doing us a favor. That’s just insulting.
Ford has been bad with not having parts in stock for warranty work. Almost worthless having a warranty when every time you go in they say parts are on backorder for a month or more.
In 2026, you're gonna see all that come back? They're about to take a big hit
Hi brother are you a salesman? Jw
They killed the motors trim for no reason
Ohhh figures. Now that I finally love Fird again, they’re making me hate em again. Geez, just stop killing the customer/consumers passions and wants!!!
Why does the rear glass matter? I’ve never opened mine nor do I want it.
Probably the way they are paying for the recent raises of the employees..
2023 Lariat with ultimate package. I wouldn't buy the 2025 model.
Now actively searching for a 2024 due to the changes Ford made on the 2025.😡😡😡😡
I hate sliding rear glass! It vacuums out the bed and sucks it into the cab.
That's the great old FORD TURD.!!!!!!!!!!😢😢😢😢😢
Not ok for the changes on the ford 😢
