Adam is 100% right about why Jinder’s WWE title reign didn’t work: no story. Not even an attempt to tell a story. Here was the perfect opportunity to tell a relatively original story (jobber gets *really* lucky) and they just ignored it in favour of the 1980s ‘they’ll cheer because he looks like them’ approach.
FACTS.
And only that but they also saddled him with the tired evil foreigner gimmick. It's completely baffling
It's not Jinders fault though, he's had good matches in NXT.
If only Vince knew the grip Roman and Cena have on the Indian WWE fanbase, smh.
The ironic thing was that Drew McIntyre going from the same stable that Jinder was in to a world champion felt a lot more natural. (then again Drew did do his thing on the indies in between 3MB and becoming a top guy)
It's still baffling that they actually tried to transfer the "yes" chants to the Big Show in 2013 😂🤣😂
Yeah that was super nuts 🤣🤣
I honestly think that was a dark foreshadowing of the fan baiting or fantagonism that pop culture companies can't get enough of right now.
Every time I'm reminded of this, my mind immediately goes to Vince saying "Yes. Yes. Yes." in the most monotone way possible.
Just be thankful it didn't happen in the Thunderdome era. You would've had piped in "yes" chants for the world to hear.
There was a story going at the time that WWE genuinely believed it was just the chant that was over, not D-Bry himself
This list could of been all Jinder Mahal matches.
The one where he dropped it to AJ Styles before Survivor Series was pretty good
For fun, I’m going to list all of Jinder Mahal’s televised WWE Title matches, as far as i can remember:
Jinder vs Randy-Backlash 2017
Jinder vs Randy-MITB 2017
Jinder vs Randy-Battleground 2017
Jinder vs Baron Corbin-Smackdown
Jinder vs Shinsuke-SummerSlam 2017
Jinder vs Shinsuke- HIAC 2017
Jinder vs AJ Styles-Smackdown
Jinder vs AJ Styles- Clash of Champions 2017
Saw this comment before Number 5 and spoiler alert you were right their all on here
@@jfassettx123 well, yeah because it’s AJ Styles. Most of the time he can carry wrestlers into having a good match.
Ff
Triple H vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32 is a textbook example of Vince McMahon saying "You'll eat what I goddamn serve you and you are going to finish all of it!"
Perfect analysis. When everybody clearly wanted Dean Ambrose (who was obviously the most popular babyface during that time), they fed us Roman Reigns instead. While Roman has massively improved over the past several years, at that point in his career, he was still being presented as the wishy-washy, corny, white meat babyface.
@@mycahjofficial FACTS.
Not helped that before this we had a just as bad Dean vs Brock match where what build up was made got IMMEDIATELY thrown out since Lesner REFUSED to run a hardcore match
I didn’t like Brock much then and felt sour vindication further with how he we handled that so called “match”
You can really see how wrestlemania 32 was the breaking point for Adam as a wrestling fan. It’s slowly driven him more mad as the days go on
It broke me too. I didn't watch for years and it took UA-cam videos like this to get me interested again.
Plumpy however was a most wonderful happenstance.
FACTS dude.
For me it was five years before, Mania 27. I straight up stopped watching ANY wrestling attentively and only kept shows on for background noise ever since. To this day.
To this day, there was only ONE show that I watched attentively: NWA Powerrr season one.
I started watching right after the rumble that year. Mania 32 was the first mania I watched live, and 34 was my braking point to where I stopped watching before coming back this year.
I still can’t believe that Kofimania dropped off so hard like that. Truly infuriating.
FACTS kofimania’s downfall started after he won the wwe championship at wrestlemaina 35 against bryan danielson then it only slowly started to go downhill from there it also didn’t help that people were starting to boo kofi during his feud with orton then it all ended with brock burying kofi in a few seconds for the wwe championship and him cutting a promo about how one day he’s going to win the wwe championship again only to have him go back to throwing pancakes in the midcard burying kofi as a main event wrestler and seemingly retconning kofimania like it never happened.
He should’ve just lost it to Randy tbh. It wouldn’t have been nearly as poorly remembered
It's less that it dropped off, and more that WWE threw it to the ground with great spite and venom.
...Why? It was ten years too late. Kofi should have beaten Orton for the title for a transitional reign in late 2009.
@@SirJoelsuf1 I agree that he should’ve won it in the past but the way the reign ended really boiled my soul. Having Brock finish him in under 10 seconds with one F-5 made him look so insanely stupid and weak.
The Big Boss Man was one of the most sinister wrestlers in WWE history. When he first enters the fed, he handcuffed Hogan to the ropes and beat the crap out of him with a nightstick. Then he makes The Mountie go to jail just because he lost a match. Then we find out that he was an abusive prison guard that destroyed Nailz's life. He then comes back years later as a mercenary for hire. He then proceeds to mentally torture the Big Show which culminates with him stealing the casket at Show’s fathers’s funeral. After that, he kills a man’s dog and makes him eat it.
One of the greatest Heels in company history.
Then because of all of that, the mod hangs him.
It's too bad by the time he came back in the Attitude Era all of his matches were horrible besides the hardcore ones. No payoffs to any of the storylines in 1999
Cops!
Big Show vs Boss Man has to have the wildest build to a title match that lasted 3 minutes 😂
Like me in bed
Honestly, Boss Man 100% made that feud.
@@Kaltagstar96The Boss Man in 1999 was great on the weekly television shows, but awful on pay-per-viev.
@@leaderofnoone9087 whole 1999 was great with weekly tv shows but bad with ppv's
Dean Ambrose should have won the title at Royal Rumble and then defended it against Reigns in Wrestlemania 32. Even if crowd was sad about the finish, it would have been a good match.
FACTS.
This would’ve worked perfectly since Roman barely acknowledged the Shield breakup at all. There’s a clear story there with Ambrose being upset that he just moved on. This would’ve been way better than Roman overcoming the authority because no one wanted to see him do it anyway
@@KingTruffles Roman finally did acknowledge Shield's breakup in his Seth Rollins feud last year around Royal Rumble. And he sold it so good.
YES! I've been ready to die on this hill since the moment Ambrose and HHH were the final two in that rumble.
Exactly. I’ve been saying this for years, and I will never stop saying this: Ambrose should’ve been WWE Champion at the 2016 Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania 32. He was obviously is the most popular baby face of the entire company during that time. He was ready to breakout but WWE being the stubborn pricks they were made it clear that they didn’t care what the fans wanted and they fed us the boring version of Roman as the corny wishy-washy whitemeat babyface nobody wanted. Such a huge missed opportunity that I will never get over.
I love seeing Angry Adam in the morning!
He's the Angry Pro-Wrestling Nerd!
The WEEEELLLLLLLL really got me. Laughed literally out loud on that one.
It caught me off guard 😂😂😂
Bruh so dead
The squashes of Kofi and Ricochet pissed me off, and they still do to this day.
How do you screw up "athletic flippy guys bouncing off Brock Lesnar" that badly? They didn't even have to win but they should have done something.
I will not hear any slander on Heel Bossman, him just being the worst human being on the planet and almost cartoonishly evil was absolutely hilarious. (not sure if that was their intention, but it was at least entertaining in a car crash sort of way)
Boss man attached a casket to a car and drove off while the big show held onto the casket. Of course it was meant to be over the top and was great. Big boss man is such a legend! The big show angle and the pepper story line with all snow. Big boss man was so over the top and was awesome.
Shut up and listen to me!
With the deepest regrets, and tears that are soaked, I'm sorry to hear your dad finally croaked.
He lived a full life on his own terms. Soon, he'll be buried and eaten by worms.
But if I could have a son as stupid as you, I'd have wished for cancer so I could die too.
So be brave and be strong, get your life on track. 'Cos the old bastard's dead and he ain't never coming back.
That's exactly how I feel about the Big Show's daddy being dead!
Yokozuna vs hogan at WM9 technically it was a championship match
Haven't watched the video yet but can't wait to hear about Diesel vs. King Mabel
Honorable Mention - Sid vs Taker from WrestleMania 13.
Another list of "Worst Of" by Adam?
The biggest of smiles on my face... 😊😊 I just spent the day binge watching your other Worst ofs (AGAIN) and now this Christmas gift in mid spring.
A plumpy reference we love those
"Wrestling at Popworld" is a CRAZY line lmao
Adam probably still unhappy with his husband Keith Lee losing on Wednesday against Jericho.
I was so upset he didn't have an add in comment during the Dynamite review.
There should be absolutely no reason why a WWE championship match at wrestlemania should be bad. Insane!
Mate, there should be absolutely no "reason" why _any wrestling match_ "should be bad"! Why the hell would anyone say "OK, we got a job to do, now let's do it badly!"? Having the WWE championship involved just makes it unforgivable.
@@ArcaneAzmadi you're 100% correct
Undertaker vs sycho sid.
Big Show doing a kip up was kinda surreal tbh. Big Boss Man was great and the funeral promo was hysterical, Armagedon 1999 was ruined by the crowd 100%.
Poor Adam. His love of wrestling is getting worn down with every single list and it's heartbreaking to see.
Thank God he's got No Rolls Barred to keep him sane
You can tell he doesn't like the product anymore.
i always love the little references to Adam's former life. one moment i am watching a list and then i get a Ratatouille-style flashback to a time long past. Good Stuff
It says a lot when a world championship match get's zero crowd reaction in the heights of the bloody attitude era
Sundays with Adam is a very important part of my life! Thanks again!!😊
Kofi actually has fought for the WWE Championship since losing to Brock, he got destroyed by Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank 2021.
Taking a shot of every time someone mentions John Cena vs The Miz WrestleMania XXVII match in a video including top 10s and reviews
Taking a shot every time they bitch about the blinged spinner belt. I may develop cirrhosis
@@alonsoarana5307 'I can understand where that is coming from since the spinner belt was in its prime when i watched wrestling the closest, but there are some things we just have to admit, no matter how much we love it.
1. Its not exactly a belt that screams "Prestigious"
2. Watching back, it didnt fit a whole lot people on the roster. It matched Cena (obviously) and CM Punk for example but it looked like a toy in the hands of fe. HHH.
3. The WHC is just goated, NGL
@@gandalf_thegrey It was the coolest thing over to preteen me. I don't mind wrestlers tricking the belt out occasionally
@@gandalf_thegreythe big gold belt outclasses every belt design
"You know the Iron Sheik let's just say he's Col. Mustafa and he's from Iraq," "but sir haven't we been billing him from his home country of Iran for years and he was a WWE champion, people will know." "Damn it he's Middle Eastern no one will remember which country he's from." That's what I think happened for that booking.
Honorable mention - Hulk Hogan vs Yokozuna at WrestleMania IX.
Don't bother telling me that it wasn't an official match - there was a pin, Hebner made the three count, Fink made the announcement. The crowd may have cheered it at the time, but with all the behind the scenes shenanigans before and after the event, I say it deserves a mention here.
It wasn't really a match but more of a "cash-in". The "match" wasn't bad because the "wrestling" was horrible. It was bad because Hogan won for a BS reason.
Another match I would have put on this list is Steve Austin vs The Undertaker at Over the Edge 1999. Because Owen Hart had just died and you could tell that not a single person wanted to be there. Not the audience, not the commentators, and certainly not the wresters
That the show went on is a gigantic black mark against the company, and against Vince specifically. A man died in the ring! Fade to black, get the medical team in, apologise to everyone, end the show. Anything else would be - and was - horrific.
@@RobertJW i genuinely wonder how much therapy Jeff Jarrett had to go through for seeing his friend Owen being carted out as he was heading to the ring to do his match.
One of the most deplorable moves the company has ever done. Bar none.
I love this man!
BTW, Kofi DID fight for the title again after Lesnar. He was squashed by Bobby Lashley.
As he should
Im surprised Hogan vs Yokozuna wasn't on the list
It was too short to be as bad as any of these.
Honestly I'm surprised _Bret_ vs Yokozuna wasn't on the list. But then, it is only 10 entries long.
@@tafua_a The Kofi match was *8 seconds*, dude.
@@Dragonatrix And it was part of a multiple entry
I appreciate the plumpy reference from Adam, I miss that time and would hope one day we can have Team Wrestletalk vs Team Cultaholic in some way, like a survivor series or wargames thing lol
Bret Hart vs Champion Diesel at _Royal Rumble '95..._
I remember I stopped watching wrestling a couple years ago and my uncle took me to a wwe live show and for some reason every title was defended except the universal title ( I learned two months ago that it exists) and the announcer said like this is a wwe title match who comes out shinsuke and jinder mahal they then proceeded to have the same match that you said
Lucky you. I went to a live show around the same time and my main event was a tag match between Orton and Shinske vs Owens and Mahal. BOOOOOOORRRRRING
The one thing I took away from this is that a legend like Randy Orton had to suffer a lot of bad matches to make the WWE title mean something when the WWE did not care about the title at all
He did so much boring stuff, like I get where you're coming from, he's done great stuff in his career, but he's done loads of boring crap as well.
@@iamyoursaviour sure I'm talking about in the context of his later runs as wwe champion
When all the big names of his era were doing something else be carried the burden of doing what he had to do
Diesel VS Mabel was a dodged bullet. Like, yeah it was pure trash but a similar freak show match killed British wrestling back in the day. This could've been WWE's Bid Daddy VS Giant Haystack.
Fantastic list, sorry you had to rewatch all those and all the stinkers that didn't make the cut. Thanks, Adam!
Yo i forgot they made triple h wrestle jinder at a houseshow
I’m surprised that Taker vs Psycho Sid didn’t make the cut
I was second row for ur trousers coming off. Damn entertaining
If there was ever a time to put the belt on Jake the Snake the lead up to Wrestlemania 7 was it.
And this perfectly exemplifies the reason having two main titles is stupid when the "main" title for the company is treated so poorly that it becomes a joke.
When bray used his magical powers to make the National Geographic channel appear 😂😂
such a good video lol
The Orton Bray bug match was the final nail in the coffin for me for 4 years until I heard about the bloodline story
2:42 outside interference from a laptop got me😂😂😂
That joke about how championship runs for the Big Show have gone make me choke on my popcorn
I didn't even have any idea that No. 1 ever happened.
Cain vs Brock in WWE would've been a good match if only they let Cain Velasquez actually recover from his injury.
😂😂😂😂
And then they had Cain Velasquez shoot someone. Oh wait that actually happened.
(And no, I will not get into a debate about whether or not what he did was justified. It was not. Even if I do grant it's totally cool to just summarily shoot people suspected of abusing children you have the problem that _Cain Velasquez didn't even shoot the right person._
@@pleaseshutup7053 he is, he wrestled in AAA after his UFC run.
Right, Cain’s AAA highlights were pretty solid for a guy with his level of MMA injuries. I just think that I didn’t have to be for the belt nor worth slaying Kofi in 8 seconds
Great list but I sure would've put Yokozuna vs Lex Lurger from either SummerSlam 93 or Mania 10 on this list.
"Business was bad in 1995"
*All Japan stans violently entres the chat*
I mean I'm not a Stan but ajpw was spitting fire. Misawa/kobashi vs kawada/taue is still one one of my favorites
@@dakaraipatterson2986 That's one of the best matches of all time.
I love and truly recommend Taue vs Misawa from Champion Carnival '95. Absolutely one of my fav matches ever
Thank For The Video 🙊🤯🤩💗💛👍🥇🏆
It's long overdue for Adam to do a list that's not tortuous on him.
Like one of those lists he just made up the topic to troll Olli. We all deserve it.
And Adam, thank you for your service & your patience.
Wooooooo baby he’s finally done it
5:22 Wasn’t expecting a reference for a classic CBBC show, but I just had a wave of nostalgia crash over me.
Here’s mine
10. Aj styles vs shinsuke nakamura backlash 2018
9. Jbl vs big show no way out 2005
8. John cena vs ryback payback 2013
7. Dean Ambrose vs dolph ziggler summerslam 2016
6. Jinder mahal vs shinsuke nakamura summerslam 2017
5. John cena vs the miz over the limit 2011
4. Triple h vs Randy orton wrestlemania 25
3. John cena vs Randy orton unforgiven 2007
2. Jinder mahal vs Randy orton battleground 2017
1. John cena vs the miz wrestlemania 27
Kofi vs Brock will forever be the worst one for me, because it caused me to rage-quit the whole company. Brilliant idea: pulling a stunt like that right when AEW was starting out. I had the option of watching a bunch of nobodies that I never heard of, or watch Brock effortlessly kill any character I had the misfortune of growing to care about. Easy choice, really.
The context of the scene makes it EVEN worse:
This was their FIRST episode on FOX
A company with a news channel NOTORIOUSLY heavy on favoring a certain political party
And you START that relationship on that parent company’s channel by having a white giant of a man in Brock UTTERLY DESTROY a black hardworking guy like Kofi in seconds for your company’s top title
Many people point out the graphics paint similar pictures to the ones Linda’s Democratic opponent used against her during her two utter failures for Governor
Namely using her kicking Mick Foley in the groin live on air
What Cena did to that title can never be forgiven.
Genuinely popped for ‘I’d call it a wet fart of a match .. but even wet farts make noise’.
What a line!
They really tried to dress up Iron Sheik in a military uniform and say “Yep this is Colonel Mustafa” 💀
I call it a wet fart of a match but a wet fart makes noise.
Thanks Adam, coffee all over the monitor with that one.
I would like to see a list of just best championship matches in general.
The worst thing is, none of us will get the time we spent watching these matches, AND the build up to them, back.
Bad life decisions.
WM32 was beyond cursed, until 36....plagued us all * rim shot *
Half the main eventers were injured, patched up, paint by numbers Mania out of necessity.
Finally an Adam video 🙏🏽💪🏽
A non-WWE Champion Kofi Kingston put up more of a fight against Brock at Beast In The East than a WWE Champion Kofi Kingston did...
I live for Angry Adam😂
I think you can list Big Show Vs Big Boss Man at Armageddon 99 as being an example of a match which had a bonkers build up only for it to turn out bleh (Austin Vs Taker at Rock Bottom and Lesner Vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania XX being other examples of this)
Survivor series 2013 in Boston was headlined by Big show v Orton. Survivor series 2022 in Boston was headlined by wargames. Massive improvement
I feel bad for the Mitz. He got a concussion during that match and didn't remember it.
O man what a late upload! This is normally my Sunday Morning Blunt video. Now this is my Sunday evening blunt video
Those peak british references during the bray vs orton wm33 segment! 🤣🤣🤣
Aaaaah, Plumpy... Watching & listening Plumpy continue to slowly lose his sanity is just so... It makes me feel so much better about my own..
I am astonished that any match was deemed worse than Diesel vs Mabel.
That Big show pun was so well executed 🤣
Regarding the intro: during the brand splits, whichever title was on Raw was promoted as the top prize in the company, whether that be the WHC during HHH's Reign of Terror in the early 2000s, the WWE title during peak Cena of the late 2000s, or the Universal title from 2016 until 2019.
And with SmackDown's move to Fox in 2019, the Universal title sometimes still got top billing ahead of the WWE title (at least, until the titles were unified at WM38)
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Raw's new world title.
WWE was so delusional that they thought Yes chant was actually an anger against The Authority and not to a particular wrestler.
‘Bray wrestling in pop world’ is the best line I’ve ever heard on UA-cam 😂
I do wonder if Ricochet was lined up to face Kofi before the Brock beat Kofi out of the title picture, and what a match Kofi v Ricochet would’ve been 🤔🤔
You can honestly hold Jinders and Romans together for same reasons, saying how Jinders was interference, finisher, win.
Romans is Usos/Sikoa interfering, finisher, win.
Jinder = Roman?
Roman’s feuds though are generally decent at worst
Not to mention he was built up as a strong contender and wrestler from early on and NOT a jobber
Grumpy Adam is best. Or should I say plumpy Adam…..
Can't wait for Plumpy's lists all week 💀
I know they feuded with each other 2 years earlier but we never got a babyface Cm Punk vs Heel Randy Orton feud. They could have done that match at Survivor Series instead of Big Show vs Orton.
You see, Adam. Time is relative to gravity and the combined weight of both Mable and Kevin Nash had altered the space time continuum so much, that their direct clash slowed the world for eleven extra minutes.
Another factor that drove the terrible quality of big show versus Randy Orton at survivor series 2013, and the heatless crowd reaction, was the fact that the show was on at the same time as a Sunday night football game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. Thousands of people, myself included, decided that, despite having spent $100 or more to get into the show, watching a football game we could’ve stayed home and watched for free was far more entertaining. We watched a 24 point comeback on the concourse instead of watching this boring ass match. TL:DR; People in Boston who were at Survivor Series 2013 watched football instead of boring wrestling. That’s how bad that match sucked.
You can honestly thank Brock for ending Jinder's reign, because he did not want to face him at Survivor Series on the count of him losing his goddamn time.
3:03 WEEEEEEEELL that made me laugh
i remember the good ol' "Plumpy" days, good times, good times
My least fav is the Hart / Michaels "Iron Man Match" because nothing happened for an HOUR! The only real action happened during "sudden death" (which effectively acts as its own separate re-match). It may not be as bad on a minute-by-minute basis as others on this list, but just the fact that the tedium KEEPS GOING ON is annoying.
Hulk Hogan was my hero growing up, and the experience of meeting him in 2015 was better than I could have asked for, and I will always be a fan of his. That being said, I'm really surprised that his match with Yokozuna at the end of Wrestlemania 9 wasn't on the list, mainly because it has always been viewed as unnecessary and as a finish that brought the quality of the PPV way down. Unless maybe you're not counting that one?
“Wrestling in Popworld at the Royal Rumble” might be my favourite Blampied quote ever
Cena taking the title off Rey mysterio in 2011.
I am surprised Hogan vs Yoko at Mania 9 is not included.
*For my money, HHH vs Reigns at ‘Mania 32 has to be the worst world title match in WWE history. It was a WrestleMania main event that the fans didn’t wanna see. An end result to a WrestleMania main event the fans didn’t want to see. The company at that point was so out of touch to the point that they made it clear that they didn’t care what the fans want and they just told us to just shut up and deal with it. With the runtime of the match going on for 27 frustrating minutes, it resulted in one of, if not the worst ‘Mania main event ever. It also didn’t help the fact that WWE completely MUTED the booing fans. SMH.* 🙄
you did not have to bold this
The worst thing about Mabel injuring Diesel is that Nash doesn't shut up about it but still somehow manages to come off as the hero 😂
Can you guys do a best matches next
Jinder's matches are all the same with his boring moveset of 6 moves: Punch, Kick, Rest Hold, Singh Brother Interference, ANOTHER Rest Hold, Khallas
“Beat wrestled in Popworld at the Royal Rumble earlier this year”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Slight correction to number 1,
The Survivor Series match didn’t come about because of Battleground; it came about because of Hell in a Cell the month in between
