  • Here's a video on what I do and where I shop to present more masculine in my gender expression.
Do I just shop in the mens department?
    What underwear do I wear?
Take a look and let me know what you do.

I'm nonbinary AFAB and my dream is to look like a man even in feminine clothes. I'm putting off starting T even though I need it, partly because I know it'll make me even more dysphoric about my chest (which I definitely can't hide, binders are dangerous for long shifts in very active jobs, and my chest is quite big anyway). I'll have to pay for top surgery myself if I don't take T for a year before, but unfortunately that's the path I'll probably have to take. For now I wear a lot of oversized t-shirts, men's shorts/sweatpants (with real pockets!), but I'm excited for a time when I can finally feel like myself in a dress because I'll be masculine underneath.

      Thank you for sharing this.
I also face a battle with starting T and top surgery, it’s such a big decision and financial commitment. You are not alone.
Until we can be or feel who we are meant to be, we can try our best with what we have. And know that we are not alone with how we feel.
I’m excited for you, for your journey and the future!

Great video, thank you. I needed to see this today. I'm still figuring out how I present myself to the world and what makes me comfortable - it's quite a journey. However, some years ago, I pretty much stopped buying "women's clothing" and I feel much more me now. Also, "men's" clothes generally seem to be more robust. Shorts and trousers have better pockets too. I mostly shop online (for new and second hand stuff) as I'm not really a fan of changing rooms. I can see how annoying the footwear thing must be for you - such a great feeling when you find something decent in your size! I love Spectrum Outfitters - I've been really impressed with their products and their service.

I totally agree with the quality and pockets!!
I’m so glad for online shopping, as you mentioned about the changing rooms which I also agree with, they can be an uncomfortable space for me too.
I’m glad spectrum outfitters are working for you!

Cheers for this Jo! The thing I find tricky with trousers is in the women’s department trousers almost always seem to have tiny pockets (!) any favourite places for a great pair of trousers that don’t accentuate the hips but have proper pockets?

Trousers are a nightmare for me!
I tend to still get them from the mens department, and get them taken up.
Usually from Zara or H&M. But there is a lot of trying on!
