- A quick look through the portfolio that landed me a tattoo apprenticeship. I also talk about the struggles I had as and apprentice and what I'm doing not.
The thumbnail piqued my interest. I was not disappointed, the creativity in your designs is amazing! No matter what you end up doing, I hope you can still stay motivated to create. You are extremely talented.
Wow! From one artist to another, you have a GREAT portfolio! I want a tattoo from you once you’re established. 🖤
You flatter me… I like it lol. Thank you 😊 I would love to jam a needle in you if that’s what you want.
Some sick pieces here! Thanks for a little insight to what apprentice life is like
Awesome I really liked the entire portfolio keep up the great work
You are very talented. Love your works ❤
I’m 20 and have just started taking an interest in drawing and tattoo artistry and I’ve been motivated to get together a portfolio, this video is so helpful because the mental battle is real but you’re amazing and that art is fire.
Holy cow! Mind blown with these designs.
Thanks for your experience, it helped me to be prepared when I will reach out to the shops asking for an apprenticement. I hope your tattoo careear will find a great success))
I appreciate your tips and advice
So helpful, thank you so much! Instant subscription!
wow i love your portfolio! 😍
Your art is amazing!
Thank you for sharing your experience, apprenticeships are rough. Tattooing is one of if not the most unregulated industry out there. A lot of pain and patience is required and with the state of the world right now most ppl don’t have the energy time or resources to devote everything and get so little in return. You’ve gotta fight so hard and especially as a woman. Keep expressing yourself and showing up for you! Fuck being shop bitch.
Yes, it is definitely a struggle!! I will keep pushing and trying my best ! Thank you for the support 🧡
This sounds SO similar to my experience. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
I love all of your designs they are all so creative. Loved seeing the progress in style and mediums too you're an amazing artist. I'm also working on my portfolio but it gets so hard coming up with new original ideas when you get out of the flow. But hopefully I'll get there one day.
Wishing you the absolute best! I’m sure you will get there.
this is the best portfolio I've seen!!! thanks for making the video fun to watch, you're funny! :)
😁 than you !
Awesome Portfolio. Love the way you explain your Art. Nice channel, totally can feel you on certain topics.
Greetings from Germany.

Awesome portfolio
Thank you so much ! 🙏🏽 . Wishing you all the luck in the world on your endeavors :)
I can tell how much work you are putting into it, amazing work ✨️
🧡🧡 thank you 😊
Wonderful art/portfolio! Sorry to hear your apprenticeship was so troublesome and didn't work out for you. Wish you the very best with whatever you end up doing, whether it's tattooing or something else! Very wise of you to acknowledge that your mental and emotional health come first 💜
Thank you for the kind words ! I definitely wish I could have realized it sooner but we learn the lessons when we are meant to ..hopefully.
I love your art!
Good luck in your tattoo apprenticeship. Don't get discouraged by not finding the right shop just yet. At least you have many options where you live. Your portfolio looks really cool and I am sure you will be able to find something ok in the future!
Very true! Than you 😊
I liveee for your style
Thank you for posting your beautiful artwork & being open about your journey so far🤗 I wanted to know if you have any tips on creating a portfolio or what to focus on when designing/drawing?
Thank you 😊 ! 🤔… I think people are mostly just looking to see if you have decent to solid drawing skills. In my experience you will be doing a lot of drawing to improve during the apprenticeship anyways. Include variety in your portfolio to show your range…pencil renderings, line art, paintings if you can ect. But I would say focus on designs that are tattooable- meaning they are designed to look pleasing on the body. Do whatever style interests you. But arguably knowing the tattooer and being able to fit into the shop is equally as important. Sometimes it’s not about skill but about who you know and if you will fit it. So I will suggest on top of this to go get tattooed at the shop/s you are interested in if possible. I hope that helps :)
@@RevaTheArtist thank you for the advice, it means a lot☺️ I will take everything you said into consideration.
You are incredibly talented!! There’s no reason why they would have rejected you unless they were intimidated by your skill honestly. Most of them do not start with a good art foundation in anatomy, proportions etc.. hope you still ended up pursuing your dream!💕
😊 thank you for commenting. I haven’t had time to but I want to make a video about what I’m doing currently.
Love the halo piece! Shoutout to the lady’s who grew up with it
😊. Yes Halo was the shit!!
Omg ur art is amazing
❤️thank you !
Your artwork is amazing 0.0

You are too kind but than you! 😁

Your portfolio looks amazing!!! Question: Do you draw like from pictures and combine it or do you draw everything from your head? I'm new into drawing and would like to do my own portfolio one day
Thank you so much 😊. When I have an idea, I find the reference that helps me bring it to life . So yes I combine images to create what’s in my head .. I have to do some inventing along the way because everything won’t be found in a picture.
@@RevaTheArtist okay thank you such much! :)
🔥🔥🔥
you are amazing, tattoo is for you if you want it
Your art is way too cool!!!
Thank you ! :)
OMG what's your background? Like, were you enrolled in Art School?
Cause your digital artworks and compositions are incredible :0
No, no art school. I went to a regular university with art classes but found the classes to be nothing more than drawing a still life repetitively. So I went to youtube university. Thank you so much 😊
@@RevaTheArtist YT university lol love that, any recommended videos/channels?
@@ZaNnyii hmm..I wish I was more organized. There were really just a few key concepts that helped me improve in creativity and ability … I wish I knew where specifically I learned it. But my learning has been pretty sporadic. Maybe I’ll make a video about it. Buuutt.. here are a few channels that have helped me in one way or another. Will Terrell - lots of great art and life advice. Proko - just great for learning. ERUDA Art- fantastic creative and imaginative inspiration. I’m always amazed ! Christopher Lovell- another source of creative inspiration. He is one of my favorite artists. Hope that helps 😁
your color work is beautfiul. ;-;
Thank you!
What do you use for the pink drawings??? It’s so pretty
Thank you ! It’s just a generic pink color pencil. Nothing fancy.
Wow this was amazing. What kind of paint did you use?
😊 Thank you! I used a combination of createx, Us art supply airbrush paint and color tecknik which is just a cheap acrylic paint.
Your story really spoke to me, 27 ye old female artist here. Wondering what the dimensions are for your portfolio? Struggling with choosing a size to start with
Sorry for the late reply but I don’t exactly remember.. the artwork inside it is 11x17 if that helps
Hi! Can I ask a question, for anyone who is working as a tattoo apprentice or is a tattoo artist? I’m reworking, my apprenticeship portfolio and was wondering what type of mediums do you all use to create drawings and flash? Is screen printing and relief printing acceptable of my tattoo drawings? I don’t have to have my portfolio done until April, so I got some time to work on it.
Pen and ink, pencil, color pencil, and digital prints for me. If it’s something you created/designed, sure throw it in there. Just make sure to include some hand drawn on paper pieces. Variety!
I never got an apprenticeship and i went through it trying to get one. I ended up going the self taught route which was more brutal then any apprenticeship could ever be. Long hours of the unknown but i figured it out. Since then i have taught a lot of other artists in dallas they are all full time tattoo artists doing very well. The first question i always ask are you sure you want to do this, cause its not going to be fun and you are not going to like it. The first year with me you will not be tattooing at all and if they last through that then we get down to business, because tattooing is more mental then anything
Your really talented :-)
☺️ thank you!
Did you take an art degree for University/College? I currently just graduated high-school and I want to get into tattooing as my career. I want to improve my art, but I’m not sure what I should aim for in university and if I even need an art degree to get into tattooing.
You definitely don’t NEED a degree for tattooing. No I didn’t go to an art school. I took the self learning route.. youtube and books. If you are a capable artist and can learn and improve on your own you will do great. I encourage you to follow your heart.
@@RevaTheArtist thank you for your advice 🙏
Hello can you help me to find tattoo apprenticeship for me?
everytime I hear about tattoo apprenticeship in America they look like nightmares ugh just fuking hire a cleaning agency like anyone else?? also bad experiences+bad mental health is such a combo I know it personally lol, just take magnesium and go on with your life 💞💞💞
I would absolutely get that trident/electric eel tattoo!!!
How would one get in touch with you?
Shoot me an email! There shove one attached to this account
Is incredible how in usa and UK the studios take advantage of the tattoo apprenticeship 😡
Seems like the name of the game. It definitely sucks tho.
Nice mom
I’m gonna skip the whole apprenticeship thing and go straight to scratching out of my house. The gatekeeping of this industry sucks. I’m already good enough. I don’t care who I piss off. I’m ready
