I fly regularly from Sydney to Hobart return so I will undoubtedly be flying on one of these A220's soon. Thing is, I absolutely love the old Qantaslink B717's that I always fly on that route simply for that vintage DC-9 era rear-engined narrowbody look & feel and those incredibly loud, near-vertical take-offs & climb-outs that shove you hard right back into your seat that you just don't get on a Qantas B737-800. However just like a 25yr old car, they are undoubtedly fun and old-school however a brand new car is always going to be quieter, more comfortable and bang up-to-date.
Nice trip report. The A220 is such a cute, little, comfy thing. It's just FlyDubai makes the Max look amazing. Would love to see a fully kitted out A220 like that. Greetings to your boyfriend and family.
Looking good Jayden. Congrats on getting this flight. I enjoyed this trip report, relaxing, with chill music. I never realized how large Australia is. I flew the A220 on Air France twice this year and you've captured the aircraft well. Your editing and video photography is excellent.
Great video as usual old boy. As a Canadian, I am proud that you flew on and enjoyed a Bombardier plane! Yes! It was conceived, designed and built in Canada but the a-hole Trump gov’t put such a huge tax on each one, not one airline would buy it. So…Bombardier sold the aircraft to Airbus for one dollar! It is still put together in Canada as well as the US with wings from Ireland! 😎. P.s. I noted your obsession with the really excellent coat hooks. Well done Jayden. Cheers, Colin
Hi Colin, I got an A220 postcard of the Airbus prototype livery, it carries the Canadian flag! Very pretty. I just read about the $1 deal, so interesting!
Great video, Jayden! I like the A220 overall. It provides a more comfortable and quieter ride than older aircraft. Too bad there was no AVOD, but I assume QANTAS will use these for shorter flights. At least they have the phone holders and power plugs to support using your own device. Surprised to see you staying in a Marriott instead of Hilton. 😊
QF is going AA I suppose 🤣 the A220 can go as far as Singapore and Bali from the right airports, hopefully when they do deploy them on those routes, they'll install TV. My Brisbane friend has Marriott status and booked me there 🤣
Stunning Video Jayden! It was a real shame I never got a chance to meet you - but one day we will! Feels so strange watching the very aircraft I was onboard depart (also being able to see my gopro strapped to the window haha)
Great review as always mate! Thanks for the mention! Keep up the great work! I agree with your summary, it has some things like the USB-C, Wifi, and Universal sockets that are great but compared to the padding on the 737 it leaves a lot to be desired, and if this plane were to operate flights to southeast Asia an IFE would be ideal, and it isn't game changing either.
Good concise report Jayden. Pity the plane is soooo underwhelming. Kinda like Qantas all over. Might be time for you and Mammy to travel first class on Cathay Pacific again😊😊😊
Decent seating in terms of legroom I see in the cabin. But how does the rest of the cabin feel? Does it feel cramp? Is there any lower cabin altitude pressure in the A220 like in the A350 and 787?
not at all, the aisle was wide, the bins are bigger and the windows too. Felt quite spacious on the A220. Not sure about the cabin altitude pressure sorry!
Keep it up Jayden and this was hinted at your Instagram Stories. Speaking of the QF A220 First Class it needs PTV if it must fly Perth to Melbourne/Adelaide which is longer than Melbourne Tulmarine to Brisbane. I wonder if you can compare this to a DL A220 or not?
Come on Jayden, your fellow Adelaide UA-camr Rory Ding not only was on the inaugural flight to Canberra but he made the Channel 7 news. Lift your game sir.
There is enough room for all of these guys- they are not in competition with each other. They all have different styles of content and how they present- not all styles will appeal to every viewer anyway.
The VA 737 Max with compete with Qantas Airbus neo. Qantas would really stand out if they introduce a completely new J seats, like the ones we see on CX A321neo and FlyDubai. I am flying Virgin 737 Max tomorrow to Tokyo, a very long flight on a narrowbody!
Actually the A220 is designed and built by Canada's Bombardier. Bombardier sold the rights to Airbus for economic reasons. It's a brilliant Canadian designed aircraft.
You are correct if you are wondering why that happened it has to do with Donald Trump's Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross putting a tariff on the plane because they wanted DL for B737-700.
Hi Jayden. I thought you only eat vegetarian meals these days. Also, some short time ago I saw a video of you and 6'4" going on a trip to Europe; I thought that was going to take several days/weeks and many videos... Did I miss something? Sorry, I'm just confused. 😕
I will post them over the coming weeks don't worry :) many to come haha. I don't post them chronologically for algorithm reasons. I don't *only* eat veggie meals haha. I eat them as much as I can especially on long haul flights and days I feel like my body needs some veggies. At home, I definitely only eat veggies. When I travel it's a bit difficult as I want to try new food.
Being the premier Australian flight review channel you should have been on the first flight. I’m also disgusted they made you go to Melbourne. Should have been an Adelaide Sydney service.
Good job, Jayden! Do you prefer the A220 over the Embraer 190? I have flown on both aircraft and although the A220 is remarkable, I like the Embraer E2s. They're ever so slightly quieter on take-off.
Nice video mate, the MEL-CBR flight was too short so the BNE light would have been a perfect length. Nice chatting in MEL briefly.
thanks Paul, nice seeing you in real life again :) All the best!
My two favourite AviTubers!

Nicely said! Even 10 years ago when I moved to Australia, I couldn't believe the 717's were still flying. We're lucky to have them in Australia!
damn, one of the first few reviews of the Qantas a220.... Jayden Wong upping his game

FlyDubai does have a very nice business cabin, was kinda hoping QF's to look like that!
Really keen to fly them! Awesome as always mate!
thanks mate!!
Rory Ding Travels was also on the Mel to Canberra inaugural flight.

Australia is basically USA without the big cities and aviation hubs in the centre haha. Thanks Gary!
Loved this vlog and can’t wait to fly on the A220 myself! ✈️😀
you'll love it!
Good work Jayden, always been apart of your team. Another great video! From Adelaide
thank you so much! :)
Yes such a great video..well done !
Very nice report, hope to book an A220 flight here in the US sometime soon.
the Delta A220s look fab, would love to fly on them soon :)
Nice video….was waiting to see a review of the new A220. And good to see a more positive Qantas review. Nice job!
thanks Colin! :)
Catching up on your reports today! Great as always.
You rock!
never been to AUSTRALIA but it is definately on my schedule
Thanks for the great trip report Jayden! I can’t wait to fly on the A220 soon.
you'll like it, thanks for watching!
Good job Jayden. I will have to give an A 220 a go at some point. Cheers
thanks Peter! :)
Nice review Jayden & ive stayed at the Westin Brisbane, nice hotel with awesome swim up bar

Awesome aircraft! Happy to see Qantas renovating their fleet!
Great Trip review!! And Thanks for reviewing The Westin Brissy

Beautiful Air Craft And Great Video
Thank you Gunvald!
Nice! I saw your aircraft come in to Brisbane and got a photo of it.

yep finally! 😍😍

Wow, the contest flight was fantastic especially the 220 aircraft to replace a Boeing 717 an ageing McDonnell Douglas design
agree can't wait to see my Qantas A220s at Aussie airports
11:47 Where's USD? Also was it 179 or 117 AUD?
sorry for the confusion, 117USD, 179AUD
Hi Jayden thank you for the video plane looks really nice.
indeed a very nice plane, thank you! :)
Fantastic Video! Some 737's do have the 'inflato-belt' fitted in row 4, mostly in 737's fitted with the Boeing Sky Interior, for the most part anyway.
ah interesting, I've only ever had those on the old CX seats, that one was heavy😮💨🤣
I sure hope that we see more A220s in the future. They're a good option for regional and domestic routes.
Excellent!
thanks Thomas :)
Nice for sharing mate!
thanks for watching!!

thank you! Warm day in Adelaide today. Take care :)
Please fly the inaugural scoot E192 flight!
Lucky you were onboard the inaugural QF A220 flight! A220 have a slightly long range compared to the 737-800s
Awesome Review, the new A220 looks pretty good! 😀
thank you! :)
Jayden as I said in Paul’s vlog it’s a bombardier CS 3000 all,Airbus did was rename it to the 220
Entertaining vlog as always regardless
A proud Canadian plane!!
Hey J
Are you seeing any meaningful changes at QF since the change of CEO?
Love the A220, haven’t flown it yet, maybe someday🙏NO swim suit shots😢
Good concise report Jayden. Pity the plane is soooo underwhelming. Kinda like Qantas all over. Might be time for you and Mammy to travel first class on Cathay Pacific again😊😊😊
have some flights booked with mammy soon! stay tuned😝
JW & The Mam....new episode coming soon!
Will a220s ever fly to Adelaide
Isn’t this a waste of equipment? I mean how many times did the 717 operate MEL-BNE? Hopefully it’s just for crew familiarisation?
I'm sure it is just for crew familiarisation. I looked up MEL-BNE flights in the future I don't see A220.
I think I saw u in the Melbourne Business Lounge - is it okay to come over and say hello?
of course! please do next time :))
That’s how I met a lot of my friends haha

just on the very first flight to Canberra I believe

I really dislike how Qantas refers to people as customers as opposed to passengers. It’s transactional and sterile.
interesting opinion, never gave it a thought myself. I agree! It's like cabin crew vs stewardess. Cabin crew is more appropriate nowadays
I find TVs on seats useless. Everyone has a phone, tablet or laptop so there is no need for them. All they show is ads.
Toilet pictures never needed.......just keep it classy !
