Wildly underrated? In what way? They have been around for 7 years, had many problems for many years, sometimes ending up in being grounded. Swiss limited cruising flights to FL280 for a long time. Recently things have been back to normal though.
@@iain8837 all of the problems are related to the Pratt & Whitney engines since they're new geared turbofans. The A320neo shares some of those problems.
tbh its overrated. Sexiest in the sky i'll give that. For me the 747 and this, are probably the most esthetically pleasing pax planes ive ever seen. But the engine vibration if sat over the wing, and infront, is absolutely horrid in certain places. It phases in and out audibly, and so does the vibration. It just doesnt fly nice if thats your preferred area on the place. I was bitterly disappointed. hope the advanced 220 will address this issue.

Thank you for all your videos. Love your sense of humour which I hope will help you in the coming weeks and months through your treatment. I’m sure your whole extended UA-cam family is holding you in their hearts and surrounding you with healing energy. All the best Stefan 💕
First clean sheet design in decades and it shows! In my opinion the best small airliner in the world, no wonder Airbus cannot literally make them fast enough to keep up with their backlog of sales. Glad you enjoyed your day out Stef - love Jaq's reaction to the spoon!
Perfect aircraft for short regional hops. I’m looking forward to seeing more vlogs like this soon, as well as catching glimpses of you running near Fawkner park again in the not too distant future.
I recently flew aboard Air Canada's A220....a seriously good aircraft! Very comfortable, great views, and quiet (aside from the engine groans at low power which are something else!)
Seems like a nice upgrade for Qantas. Love the look of it from the outside. This would make for a nice private aircraft but only in my dreams, haha. Jaqui looks quite pleased with her gift. See you again soon, thanks Stef
@StefanDrury thanks for answering back. The love is quite visible, and also, what I like is that it seems like you plan ahead composition , sound mix, etc, and that part blows me away.
Hope you get through this quickly and back to normal. I so look forward to seeing all your flights. I live in Benalla and fly a powered paraglider from our airport when ever I get the chance. Cheers
Looking forward to a speedy recovery and seeing you back in EYZ! Saw it outside the hangar walking back from maintenance with my flight instructor last week. She still looks pretty!
I got a 717 a couple of weeks ago from sydney to hobart, was so cool sitting between the fan cowl and the wing! I had the window seat, obviously. Such an amazing POV
Best wishes my friend to you & your family. . I find yours to be in the top 5 aviation sites on the net, the others are more technical. I hope you’re back flying Echo Yankee Zulu very soon . You have given me lots of good information Stefan. All the best mate: Peter.
Devastated that Qantaslink didn't get enough votes for "Bin Chicken" or "Turbo Chook" as I thought they would have been excellent names for aircraft hehe. Nice to see a "bat" on there tho I did submit both "Bin Chicken" and "Australian White Ibis" in hope, but my prayers were not answered 😞
Stefan ... that was one of the most entertaining (I had a good laugh several times) and informative reviews Ive seen ... THANK YOU ! Not one comment about the "new jet smell?" I got to deliver a few new EMB145s from Brazil. That new jet smell is quickly replaced with stale coffee, BO, and shame. lol Loved your humor in this one, as always!

Great to see you continue to making great aviation vlogs Stefan. Can you tell me why these QantasLink A220s don't have the usual racoon mask? It's something that sets the Airbus series apart from other products, and I think, rather cool.
Great video again Stef. How was the noise level in the cabin compared to the 717's? Usually the seat behind the seat I get allocated flushes, so any reduction in cabin and engine noise is great. .
Please could you explain what services are Quantas supplying to Severely disabled or blind passengers ? I notice they only had a boarding ladder to this aircraft? Taking a normal Lenovo business laptop on the flight. Would you be able to get power to it in flight via a normal mains charger or a USB 3 cable to cable which you need to bring on board? P.S is your plane a SR20 or SR22 ?
Hi Stef, watching your latest video is just as irresistible as knocking off a Qantas route map from the magazine, but I am more drawn to the international one. Stay strong, keep well and keep flying (behind the cockpit) and in the left hand seat soonest.
How good is having St Ali at the airport in the Qantas terminals? I was delighted to have a number of my flights through Melbourne in the last year because it's much better than being stuck in the Qantas terminal in Sydney.
Hi Stefan, I appreciate I don’t know you at all but i believe you’re going through a tough time. Hope you get through whatever your personal challenges are and take care of yourself. Ps new subscriber here.
I used to work for Alliance Airlines. Like most regional operators they are replacing their aging fleet but with also aging Embraer 😂 Problem is regional operators like Alliance loved the high fuselage mounted engines as the mining sites runways kick up debris and dust into under slung engines. Meaning higher risk of damage and more frequent maintenance schedules. But the older aircraft aren’t great customer experience. The new A220 looks very slick inside. 👌
The sims will probably be busy for a while, but hopefully the QF team get you in for some type uplift training. I mean it is a side stick too, how hard can it be? We are still here, still with you.
Qantaslink business class passengers don't receive business lounge access unless you have status? As a Bronze does that mean no lounge access despite a business class ticket?
Well done. Clips, editing, content, humour, concise. Instantly engaged.
Thank you 🙏 glad you enjoyed this one.
i was the lead-loader for the first flight! I was the one setting the conveyor up at the start of the video!
I love it when people find themselves in these videos! Thanks for getting our aircraft ready, and thanks for leaving this comment.

Bombardier really designed a fantastic aircraft.
The A220 is a wildly underrated aircraft.
I can't wait for them to transform Qantas route map and replace some of the older 320s as well as the 717s
