      It is the most important decision you'll ever make and it is worth your scrutiny to be sure you are on the right path. God is not offended by doubt or questions. He essentially says in Isaiah 1:18, test me. Although God is, offended by our resistance to the truth (Willful ignorance, Rom 10:3) God will judge apathy harshly. He will not be ignored.

      U know y it's accurate cuz God is in control. It's accurate cuz it works but the problem is man they are private interpretation that's y so many different beliefs. This is the main error and what is missing from 97% of those that preach from the bible and it's the same main error. If u fix this error u can fix all the rest. What is missing is from the bible it's from the messages they preach. The missing piece is the u can't tell me or anyone what John 3:8 means or what everyone born of the spirit has in common with what it says in the scripture. The reason it's not in the messages they preach that's y u don't know what it means. Read the scripture and see u have no idea what it means. Now that u know u don't know what it means u can find the answer in chapters 2, 10 and 19 of the book of Acts. Did he show u that easy enough. I told u the problem and showed u an endless fact checking list and that u can't get the answer to what John 3:8 means. It would be true if can't so all u have to do is start asking cuz I can't possibly know that many people don't know what it means. U could start asking just the preachers for if anyone knew it they would but they can't cuz it's not in the messages they preach . U won't see it if u believe one lie that comes to mind that gets u to dismiss the comment. Use your free will wisely for thousands didn't and the reason for the thousands of false messages. U can't see im telling the truth unless u find out what it means. The scripture is in his word and must be in the message u believe also. Don't let him cheat u now for there's no time to waste to get ready for what is to come and if u think God will take u out without a test cuz he doesn't beat up his bride u better think again for it isn't beating up it's a test for the apostles are in the bride and u see what happened to them. Foolish so called preachers that the majority are preaching the false messages they do unknowingly.

      Perhaps hearing what the other side says is helpful in bettering your understanding. The man spoke about how there's no major theological point that is contested because of manuscript errors. I present 1 John 5:7 - The only verse in the entire Bible that affirms the concept of the trinity. There is no other verse anywhere that clearly speaks of the trinity. Turns out this verse is likely a forgery because the earliest manuscript, Codex Siniaticus doesn't contain this verse. You have no way of proving one of your most essential theological doctrine. What more is left? The fact that this man in the video conveniently left this out providing no explanation should tell you all about his motives.

    • @John-pd4xt
      @John-pd4xt 8 місяців тому

      @@alphauno6614 U said this verse is likely a forgery so your not sure but it's not a forgery. The verse is telling there's not 3 for verse 6 tells the spirit is truth and the word is truth. So the spirit and the word is truth so they are one and in the beginning God was the word and God is the father and that's y all 3 are one and Jesus the son is not sitting on the right hand of God. Jesus was the son according to flesh and that flesh is no more it's only Jesus the almighty God. The right hand of God is the power for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily

      @@alphauno6614Notice you qualified that 1 John 5:7 is the only verse that speaks of the Trinity “clearly”. That implies that there are other verses that speak of the Trinity. And there are, and there are more than just the specific words that are said. There are stories and events in the life and ministry of Jesus recorded in the Gospel that do not make sense unless Jesus has both a divine and human nature.
      For what it’s worth, and I’m seriously not trying to be a jerk, (I’m honestly not sure if it is original or not myself) but your argument claiming that 1 John 5:17 is a likely forgery is not good. There are many, many, verses not found in Codex Sinaiticus that are found in other old manuscripts and widely accepted by both lay Christians and scholars as original. Not being found in Codex Sinaiticus alone is not a valid basis by which to say that a verse is a forgery. Also, your argument doesn’t speak at all to the writings of the early church fathers, which are often neglected but incredibly important in putting together the truth of what the New Testament originally said. Again, I’m not trying to slam you with that, I’m not sure about this issue myself. I’m just trying to help you form a better argument.

FACT - if anyone makes extraoadinary claims (as Christians do daily) about the existence of anything it's their responsibility to prove it with extraoadinary EVIDENCE. If you can't do that then expect not to be beleived. FACT - that same responsilibity applies in all respected areas of human study. It is the whole basis of science.

    I am a writer. A poet. I started writing when I was about 14. I am 53 years old now. When I first started writing, I used to keep note books. I wrote in pen or pencil in these notebooks, and I had stacks of them. I was also very good in memorizing them. I would say that between the ages of 14 and 25, everything I had ever written I had memorized. Fast forward to my 40's, over the years, I had misplaced some of the old poetry books that I had from my childhood, but I still remembered a lot of the poems. I was thinking about self publishing, so I was starting to try to re-write from memory, some of the poems from my youth. I got several scores of pages down, when one day, I found one of my old poetry books from when I was 15. When I compared the originals to what I had attempted to recreate from memory years later... yeah.. there were some differences. In some cases I may have forgotten an entire verse. In others I may have substituted a word in a verse...but the meaning was still clear as crystal.

    Good points. Some words translate different in different versions but generally they’re pretty close. Whenever I read i’d like to use a parallel Bible and whenever I find anything, that’s standing out interesting or anything that confuses me I go read other versions and compare them. I usually just read the NIV because it’s easier but also look at King, James and I got a living Bible and there’s NLT in several others, there’s also, a reference I use once in a while, called Young’s literal translation, which is kind of hard to understand, but sometimes gives a little perspective. Most importantly, though I think when you read, it’s good to pray first and read in the spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you discernment and guide you and interpret what you’re reading within you.
    It’s also important to understand that a lot of people out there, attacking the scriptures and trying to discredit them, it’s OK to listen to other people teach us, but we should always understand that every human being is very flawed very imperfect human that gets lots and lots of things wrong, and we should always consider that when listening to them and their interpretations or versions or teachings And understand that they could very well be flawed even a pastor in a church, some of the things that come out of the pope mouth, I find ridiculous, but we need to understand that we shouldn’t be looking to humans, we could fellowship, and share with them and study with them but Whenever anything comes into question we need to go back to God‘s word as God says about it because I don’t care how great your pastor is or how high up in some church organization, they are, what they’re saying, contradicts with God‘s word then they’re just wrong. This is why we need to pray for discernment, and for the spirit to guide us so we’re getting it right from the source.

      "We affirm our belief in one God, infinite Spirit, creator, and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function. " etc.

    Grace asked good questions! Frank was trying to respond to her underlying concern, but a more direct answer to her first question is that scribal errors can be accounted for in a variety of ways. Some changes were accidental (copying a word twice, omitting a word, skipping a line, misspelling, etc...) but some changes were intentional (conflating readings, clarifying speakers, etc...). Frank is right that we know where these variants are. In response to her 2nd question, I would add that we don't have to blindly follow the majority text. It's not the number of manuscripts that determine the original. Often, it's the shorter and harder reading that most likely gave rise to the later readings in the majority text. Variants in the New Testament don't have to shake our faith.

    Another important detail that sticks out to me in this video is Bart Ehrman being caught in yet another lie. In a response to a William Lane Craig interview where Craig says that Ehrman is a "textual critic" and that he is "not a historian", Ehrman accuses Craig of "not knowing what he is talking about" and claims he was not trained as a textual critic, but rather as a historian. But in Ehrman's own collaborative book with Metzger, we see his very own quote acknowledging that he is, in fact, a textual critic trained in textual criticism, not a historian.
    Bart Ehrman also appears to be a classically trained compulsive liar.

    1:46 He's correct in his assertion. When we examine other related sources and compare them, we can observe changes over time. There are approximately 5,800 Greek New Testament manuscripts, but the majority of them date back to 900 years or more after the original compositions. Between 100 and 200 CE, we only have a few of these manuscripts. Fast forward another 100 years, and we find around 50 more manuscripts, giving us about half of the New Testament. It's not until the 4th century CE that we get a complete version of the New Testament.
    It's important to note that even this 4th-century version of the New Testament doesn't match the version we have today. This is due to the fact that the New Testament is an 'eclectic text.' It's a compilation based on scholarly estimates of the most original readings from the available manuscripts.
    The variations we find in these manuscripts are not just minor errors. They include additions, deletions, and changes in meaning. This is exemplified by verses like Matthew 17:21, which may be absent in some modern Bibles. The significance of this lies in how various Christian doctrines have been shaped and altered in response to the evolving text of the Bible.

    Ya know. I’m 45 years old. Did not grow up in religion. The whole thought seemed goofy to me. I had six questions that just did not make any sense. And pretty much stopped me from believing. One of those questions was. “If you are born in an area and never heard the lords word was even a thing. And died. Would you go to hell for not being saved”. I want list the other questions but I asked many many people those questions in my 45 years and either got BS answers or no answer at all. A year ago I meet this old man. Very religious man. We meet randomly as strangers. I asked him my 6 ( gotcha questions) he respectfully answered every question and directly from the Bible. Those six questions lead to many more. That five minute meeting turned into a several hour conversation. And a friend I will have the rest of my life. That stranger undoubtedly saved my soul and changed my life. And it was almost instantaneous. Before I meet him I was an atheist who really dint give god a moments thought. After our conversation I was a different man. I was ashamed of who I’d been. How ignorant I had been. I thank god everyday he made our paths cross that day. You just never know what moment or meeting you will have that can change your life. And your afterlife.
    And for anyone wandering the Bible says Jesus will not return untill every human soul has had the chance to believe and accept Christ as his savior. All the questions I had are answered in the Bible. Simple logical answers. I was always told. “A rich man has the same chance to enter heaven as a camel through the eye of the needle”. Well my simple brain took that as “it’s impossible”. But it’s not figuratively. In the old days when cities had walls they had a small opening called “the needle”. So when you would show up at night or whatever with a packed camel you couldn’t fit through the needle untill you “unpacked” the camel. So rich men can surly enter heaven. But not untill he unpacks all of his worries. Burdens. Greed. Everything he must unpack and turn his life over to Christ. Then he shall be able to pass through the needle. That one phrase once explained to me made all the difference in the world. I have worked hard. Made good money. I’d like to be rich one day lol. So taking the thought of if the Bible is accurate and no rich man can enter heaven. I sort of felt like I was doomed lol. Anyways. God is good and god is giving. But not untill you get out of your own way and allow him to be

      Some Bibles translate the Hebrew word "sheol" (which means the realm of the dead where ALL souls, good or evil, go after death) as "hell". Given that "hell" is supposed to be a place where only evil people go, I'd say we have found an error.

    • @DemsRNutless
      @DemsRNutless 8 місяців тому +6

      @@alwaysadawg6488 Well, you’re referring to translation (Hebrew to English). I think the context of discussion here is transmission (Accurate hand copying of Hebrew to Hebrew, Aramaic to Aramaic, Greek to Greek). That being said you are partially correct in your mention of translation variation. The Hebrew term Sheol (שְׁאוֹל), is a general term used differently in various contexts. Sometimes it refers simply to the grave, in other instances it refers to the abode of the dead something like Tartara or Hell. The former is most common however. How it is translated is commonly done based on context (as almost all translation is done), and uncommonly done based on its comparative use in the area or region in that time. So, generally speaking a less-than translation from Hebrew to English would not be considered an error in transmission. From the standpoint of translation it would simply be a less than scholarly work. Find two or three English translations to compare if you do not have language skills in Hebrew. This normally clears up any misunderstanding. If you have any additional questions let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

To people that are concerned that we might not have ALL scripture, that is my general response is that what is most important is likely stated enough and we have it. For all other things we have THE SPIRIT which does not deviate from what God has spoken and affirms His word in all things we seek to know in prayer. To those that don't believe the Spirit is active, do they rely on their human minds to know what is God's Word? We must have the Trinity, for by the Word do we know the will of the Father and by His Spirit do we also have more intimate knowledge of His Word/Logos.

      Only Lord will judge the wicked, so If Eherman and others like him lost in pride will not repent of own sins for making God a liar during this life time THEIR future s in danger!

    No matter how altered the text could become, Christians are not defined by how much they read but by their relationship with Christ. When you pray for wisdom, you are granted wisdom so long as you open your heart to receiving it. You will know falsehoods, you will be patient and calm with expected backlash, you will be slow to anger even with betrayal because you know. Our relationship with God transforms us from within, and as we literally live out our bond with Him, we enact the lessons of Scripture in our daily lives and we live to love and obey Him, for He knows our futures and our names. We need but trust Him and we will be blessed and moved to bless others. 🙏❤ Man can and will butcher text to his own ends, but nothing can change the immutable that is God.

    The thing that I think affected the copying of the manuscripts were the changing of the syntax and grammar of the times and places, they changed them in a way for them to understand them according to their present circumstances. For example, the codex Sinaiticus.. they did not copy their ancestors letter by letter, and in various instances the errors are obvious such as repeating parts that they seemed to forget they had copied already. Another issue that the lady in the video probably missed is that there are stories that were 'inserted' hence if you look at the footnotes you'll see statements like 'such and such did not appear in the most reliable texts'. Some scribes insert their 'commentaries' but then later scribes would include them instead of maintaining them as side notes, for example, the 'pericope adulterae' which first appeared in the gospel of Luke, then later transfered and inserted in the gospel of John. Another is the tendency of scribes to change scripts that refer to the deity of Jesus, some seemed not convinced that he is God in nature, for example those in the letter of Jude (1:4), the gospel of John (1:18)

The NT argument is commonly used in apologetics, but I do not know if as Christians we are prepared to answer when critics question the validity of the OT in these same terms (number of manuscripts and proximity to the date of its original writing). He forgot to mention Ehrman's concerns about the New Testament about the lack of having the original documents(how accurate are the copies compared to the original document? We will never know). Also language is very important. Jesus probably spoke and preached in Aramaic, but the gospels are in Greek. Sometimes things can be lost or distorted in translation. How do we know what Jesus said exactly? Are all the nuances translated well? These are things we still do not know.
    I do agree that from what we have available, we can speculate what the original documents said, but we can never be 100% sure.

    People go to school, to college, to university and the instructor assigns a text book for the class. He or she says this is the book that we will be using for the course. It is at the book store and available for purchase. Students go and purchase the book and begin study for the course in an effort to get a good grade. They do not try to pick the text book apart they use it to get the grade that they desire. The questions the doubters of the authenticity of the King James Bible pose are not about the desired grade, (salvation) but instead the writers or the errors or the content. If this much time was spent on the same points in the school course, most students would fail. What is faith if those who profess to believe in God spend so much time doubting Him. This is how the ancient Jews lost their way.

    We should exercise caution in assuming that minor errors are insignificant. A single word can alter the entire meaning of a text, and this is a point of caution worth considering in any scholarly study. This isn't meant to deter the effort but to highlight the importance of precision.
    Moreover, my focus isn't primarily on debating typographical errors per se. While such discussions can be enlightening, they are less critical compared to the broader work already accomplished and our interpretations of the text. It's within these interpretations where more profound discussions emerge. For example, when we ask if 'Elohim' is plural, we find that it is. But why? Or consider 'Israel,' which refers to both an individual and a place. This raises the question: who are God's chosen people? Are they those who share the faith of Israel the individual, or are they descendants from a specific place? Such questions pave the way for meaningful exploration.

If the answer is no, you must change your reasoning for why veneration MUST NOT include images of created things in heaven or on earth.
