Loved filming this! ❤
Wow! 8 children! Mrs. Crocomb had a lot of cooking to do!
Audley End is one of a kind. The fact that games were and are important is such a life connection.
Such an English retort: "Hang on old chap, just need to finish this game. Bowls first, war second."
Went to Audley End a few months ago when I was on holiday just outside of Cambridge. Was absolutely boiling outside (going on for 30 degrees Celsius), and surprisingly cool inside. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes this kind of thing.
Recently visited Audley End House & Gardens, spectacular place. Really good to watch this video after visit, very interesting :) Thank you ❤❤❤
I felt like Alice came alive in these old pictures, like the author was inspired by the story of this historical game.
Absolutely beautiful. So interesting!
Thank you.
I had a flash back to playing old maid with my siblings.
I just mentioned this channel in my medium article about Joanna Gaines. Y’all are an amazing community, really helped me Learn SO much. Thank you! ❤
As an old chessplayer this really warmths my heart.
Thank you for the interesting overview of games
When I visited Kensington Palace, there was a room with a game table that reminded me of chutes and ladders. You needed a dice to go forward, there were places were you got a shortcut to go forward, places were you had to wait a round and just before the finish was a place that would take you back to the beginning.
The Georgian Era spans the years from 1714 to 1837, covering the reigns of George I, II, III and IV, as well as that of William IV. It was an era of great social, political and cultural changes.
Very interesting! "Old Maid" is known in Germany, too. We call it "Schwarzer Peter" (black peter) :)
Peter! I haven't seen him on video for ages!
I need a whole universe of Ms Crocombe 😅
I wonder if Lewis Carroll ever observed a living whist game?
First time i heard lord and lady braybrooke (spelling? )i got very excited " mrs crocombes employers!!"
Interesting!
💖💖

Well, the topic is interesting, but I always focus on the female presenter because she wears a sweater (maybe light sweater, but always a sweater), while I am here, in Italy, where I wear light dress but I keep on and on sweating and I am trying to cool myself down with showers but the water is also hot, and I feel like I am in the hell. 😂 😅
Haha! We filmed this on a rainy day in April ☔️
The tempurature is barely getting out of the teens in the uk,except London. Fell sorry for you people in the heat.
@@pheart2381 Lucky you guys . We have a very very slightly low temperature. We had 38 degree yesterday, today we have “only” 35 degree, it’s so refresh 😅
@@esmetodd Much better for me, I don’t like summer season, but if you can do me a favor, send to us some of your rain. We appreciate a lots. 😊 😂 Thanks again
