Huh?
They have now realised we love Victorian servants and Mrs crocombe is the best way to introduce these new characters.
It's her world, we're all just living in it.
@@TheWeeklyFangirl Mrs. Crocombe Cinematic Universe.
Mrs Warwick’s vocabulary is phenomenal! She’s so poetic in her speech :) lovely video, as always!
We should all speak this way.. It's so lovey and well i just like it a lot lol..
She is not poetic. She is intimidating as hell!
@@ceticismonet1 - The two concepts are not mutually exclusive. One can be poetic while holding a back-stabbing knife.
The “Quelle Horreur” cracks me everytime
I would have failed this interview, massively.
I think we're did
Same lmao
I would’ve run away!
You did.
I think it went down the drain with that washing machine question
It's a wonder anything gets sun bleached, the amount of shade that woman is throwing.
I hope I get hired. She really put me through the wringer.
Did you get mangled?
Woman in Victorian era: We’ll let you know
2019:
The eternal waiting room
At least Victorian era employers has a reputation to uphold when hiring people.
Most employers nowadays seem to have fun ghosting candidates. ✌️✌️
Modern employers aka Legendary Ghosters
And she even pays you for your travel expenses
@@linus1703 AND you get a cup of tea.
The shade in this video 😂
If you need to get away from the Sun just come down to this Manor House! 😂
She makes Mrs. Crocombe look like Little Orphan Annie.
I wish we could see more of Mrs Warwick! What I love about this English Heritage project is the departure of the anthropocentric approach of classical history and be able to discover the common folks that were the true force that shaped history.
Remember it's the cogs that keep the wheels Turning. It's the low paid that keep things ticking over. The rich live on their investments. Which we have experienced in 2020/21
4:40 Girl, you're throwing so much shade your linens will never be white.
Me: I have so much clothes to wash, dry, and iron for this week 😔😭.....
English Heritage: Hold my basin!.. Would you like to a trip to the laundry??
Me: ...................
I love how she’s so elegant sounding yet she manages to throw shade at the same time.
Darn, I don't think I got the job :(
You would have to mention a washing machine to the Head of Laundry dear! 😉😄
mrclueuin I know, I need to think before I speak sometimes :P
@@CelesStrife lol Well, maybe Ms. Crocombe will put in a good word for you! 😊
How on Earth do you manage to use 600 towels a week!?
well these houses had more than 20-30 people only as staff plus family members...so it was like a small hotel
plus blankets, sheets, pillow cases, not to mention clothes for all those people working for the lord and lady, the lord and lady, family, eeek no wonder it took all week to do the laundry.
No paper towels back then.
SEELE ONE
It became clearer when she mentioned that they were responsible for the laundry of _all_ of the Braybrooks’ houses, not just that of Audley End. (I can imagine why they didn’t want to dry the laundry from the townhouse in London!)
Easy when you dont have to do the laundry
They should have a mini series where she shows us how to clean various stains because I need more of her
"How do you think we bleach the cloth?"
Me: With Clorox
or very strong light!
"We'll let you know..." Hmmm, that look in her eyes says I am not getting this position.
I cannot believe how entertaining that was and educational about what laundry was methodically about in households of these era. I love it!!!
"Do you want to be out of a job?"
I hope to think no one will forget this line as it is very very true in our reality today more than ever.
It’s amazing to think that what would have taken them days to do, now only takes a few hours, modern machinery is a wonder.
Huge respect to all those women who used to do all the laundry by hand, it looks like extremely hard work.
And here i thought nobody on Audley End House could match Mrs. Crocombe raw sass.... the Crocombverse expands yet again with an opposite and equal
Lord, grant me the confidence of Mrs. Warwick being dismissive of an applicant.
Amen.
Bring back Fanny the dairy maid as I found that video thoroughly enjoyable and would love to know more about dairy and recipes this will further enhance my knowledge
Aww, I do agree. She is fantastic, and I'd love to see more of her, too. The dairy maid episode was so very lovely!
@@None.of.ya.business666 the comments could do with some cleaning up though
cosmicpowers1685 Me too
Victorian working women have shot right to the top of my list of scariest people because of these videos.
(for real though, the acting on this channel is fantastic)
I would not for one , dare to stand up to this gorgon of a housekeeper . She is very intimidating indeed and I assume that the interviewee is just around 18 or maybe less .
Yeah, you must be right
Probably much younger, using the fact that Mrs. Crocombe started at 13 as reference.
Well maybe a bit older. She did say they didn't take girls without experience.
ONLY because she has the full weight of society behind her and workers have NO RIGHTS of any kind.
Saved by the applicant, weren't we Mrs. Crocombe?
Annette Ayala Torres, I’m certain that Mrs. Crocombe was very grateful to avoid further discussion of women’s suffrage!
Annette Ayala Torres Mrs. Crocombe has far more real crisis in the kitchen to deal with XD
, I was thinking the same 😄
I have a suspicion my interview didn’t go very well. I suppose I’ll pursue other positions...
It's autumn now, can we please have more about the gardeners harvesting and preparing the gardens for winter?
Or Mrs Crocombe canning and preserving?
She said in a video a while back that canning and preserving are lower servants duties, she is basically the head chef and she has her sou chefs do less skilled jobs.
I could watch a drama about Mrs Warwick and Mrs Crocombe exchanging shade, gossip and tips all day...
I literally apologized to the video when the washing machine subject came up
💀💀
Mrs. Warwick brewing political revolutions and throwing shade. I love it.
Kirsten Paff Even Mrs Crocombe was being judged!
A shady suffragette in petticoats! I love it!
