If Jim and Robin were in a movie together, it'd be a serial killer thriller. Freddy vs Jason but the tone of Zodiac. These men were funny but both had LOTS of darkeness. Watch One Hour Photo or Williams' Law and Order SVU multipart episodes. Wheh. Robin was funny but that man had the ability to be scary like Hearth Ledger in Batman

I agree. Jim is like Jay Z. Just because he isn't using auto tune and slurring his words doesn;t mean his stuff is irrelevant. It's just that people are arguably more stupid and the comedy quantifiably more dumb. Some kinda arbitrary Family guy-esque constant roasting. Modern shit is borderline retarded, but maybe I'm not just edgy enough. Maybe I'm too edgy. My Sides know. nnghhhh herrr pop culture reference random shit derp - dank, but I digress, The youth are always trying to relegate something to some era, while becoming relics themselves.

I don't think he tried to look into the future when he did his comedy. He does what he loved doing since he was a kid. This isn't an act, this is what Jim Carrey is like off-screen when he's in a good mood. He's letting his personality shine bright as a beacon, just like Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali - which is the reason they're so timeless as well.

I think from what I'm hearing is that comedy is very subjective. Some love it and some can't stand it, but neither is good nor bad, right or wrong it's just your feeling and opinion. I grew up with my dad being very 'silly' in his humour style so I think I gravitate towards the likes of Jim Carey, Billy Connelly, Richard Prior etc

I’ve seen this a million times and it still amazes me how extremely talented Jim Carrey was and is. A true entertainer/actor/comedian in its purest form. And when it comes to stand up comedy you rarely see anything like this today. The way he uses his body language as a big part of the jokes. Incredible always

I saw Jim Carey's live stand up New Year's eve December 31st 1993 in Vancouver BC and he toyed with and then decimated a heckler who was one of a huge group of Hells Angels. At first, the Angels, in full leathers and seated in a large block of seats, were egging the heckler on...as Carey masterfully played him for the crowds delight...then within a few seconds, he turned the entire crowd (including the other Hells Angels & the head of the Chapter) against him...shaming him into sitting down & shutting up.
It was an effortless show of Carey's intellect and social dominance over any one foolish enough to challenge him.
I was, at the time, hugely pregnant with my first son and I laughed so hard I thought I would burst. It was a hilarious performance...and we caught him before his fame and movie career REALLY took off & he ceased doing stand up.
One could swear he morphed his facial bones during his Clint Eastwood impersonation, and defied gravity as he aped being a marionette on strings (performing for the heckler) prior to dismissing him with a few choice words.
He simply told the truth & said no one was interested in anything the heckler had to say...that everyone had come here to see HIM and be entertained...and Carey...in the space of a few seconds...turned everyone in the building against him.
The energy in the venue turned in those seconds & the formerly loud and disruptive belligerent drunk was shamed into silence. His peers laughed at him possibly louder than the other audience members.
