The boots in the thumbnail are the suicoke bower Evab boots. I contemplated putting them in the video and removed the clips last minute BUT they are also some of my favorite boots.
They’re “technically” a blake stitch, Rose Anvil did a video where he cuts them in half. So the stitches aren’t just a façade, they’re still welting the sole to the upper. HOWEVER, the glue is ironically what makes cobblers turn away Docs from getting resoled, erasing any value that having a welted shoe has in the first place. It’s because it’s a pain in the fucking ass to get rid of the glue, apparently.
@@tw_judy Very interesting, thanks for the reply, I had no idea that was the case. I haven't gotten into the cutting shoes in half videos. I probably will at somepoint tho lol
@@TheKreattion no prob! I would take weston (Rose Anvil) with a grain of salt cause he is *constantly* hustling sponsorships and affiliate links, but it is interesting to see them cut apart for sure.

Red Wing's Moc toes are iconic, and so are their Iron Rangers. They're a great intro boot to get into heritage, semi-dress, service style boots. They're over $300, but they can easily last 10+ years with a couple resoles (about $100 every ~3 years). Thursday boots are also great budget options.
Considered most of these for my first pair of combat boots ended up settling on the orees and holy shit I am beyond happy with them rly feels like the quintessential boot I don’t have much experience but I am beyond happy with the silhouette, leather quality, and the overall feel. Would recommend these to anyone over any regular designer pair of combat boots they also drop twice a year.
I scored Diemme all black antra for $110 earlier this year and they are indeed *chefs kiss* and 10000% recommend them!! If you're looking to wear them during more colder seasons as well then I suggest going up a size. Their nicely fitted but you'll need to wear thin socks if you're going to stay true to size. The quality is even more 🔥 in person lol
The yeezy dsrt boot is really nice, its not hyped or anything which is nice so I dont feel like a hypebeast but they have such a nice and unique shape that I am in love with. The only problem with it is it is more of a fashion piecw rather than an actual work boot of sorts but if you dont plan on beating down your boot it is great. Full size up on it if you plan on buying it.
I've owned a pair of Solovairs for a year now. They're a lot more higher quality and comfortable than docs. Break-in took a hot minute, but they have a wooden shank like the older docs used to which make them way more comfortable and durable through time. If you like the details of Docs more, Id really try to find a pair of used one because even the made in England docs are a lot lower quality than they used to be.
Boots are probably one of the more interesting types of footwear and also the most versatile. I feel like all these high end sneakers are ones that people would want to frame and never get dirty, but boots are meant to be worn. Happy new year from the post vid gang #pvv
Great video man! I love all these boots you picked out, and own a few myself already. But I am wondering, what are those off to side behind you?? They kinda remind of the Croc boots with the cinch around the ankle.
Love your stuff Drew, been watching, following for about a year now, feel now is as good a time as any to comment for the first time haha. So I've been wearing combat style boots for many years now and only recently got into boots as a fashion item. Some words to the wise about the Danner boots, they fall apart VERY fast, more so than almost any other boot I have found. They are extremely comfortable, but that is at the trade-off of the soles being made of very soft material, and therefore falling apart quickly. Doc's while they are also quite nice and affordable, you will likely be better off investing the extra 150-200$ at a later date, on a pair of boots that can be re-soled. Final note, take care of the boots you buy. They are not cheap. So oil the leather well, and make sure to not let them go too long without a re-sole if you notice the soles start to crack. I've had my same pair of Red Wing Blacksmith's for almost 4 years now, with only a single re-sole, and I would argue that the age they show makes them look even better than the day I bought them.
Honestly Dr.Martens look good, the main quality issues is poor leather quality, lack of a shank (which is what prevents pain in the archway of your foot). So without the shank the boot just kinda bends instead of having a wood or steel bit that stabilizes it. And if you get them, make sure you know a local cobbler that is willing to resole Docs, because most cobblers don't.
Those A Cold Wall doc shoes that everybody was going crazy over a couple months ago actually came out in a boot version a couple years ago. probably my favourite footwear i own
Good video, you definitely have a new subscriber. I just got my first two pairs of boots. First are the Solovair Monkey boot in oxblood and Thursday Captains in Arizona Adobe. I would really recommend Thursday at the $200 price point. Especially if you want more traditional styles.
Just bought a pair of solovair 8 eye derby’s they are the best boot I’ve bought in a while. Went true to size and wore them while traveling around Chicago for the New Year
The best boots to buy in my opinion, Cheaper price point:Doc martens(1460,mono black)(around 180) Next price point:Premiata(really nice Italian craftsmanship, they cost around 500,but if you look around on the second hand market you can find some aroun 100-350,i bought mine for 55) The perfect boots are Guidi(They have been supplying leather for luxury fashion houses since the 1800’s,they use luxury, really heavy duty horse leather, they have a lot of styles and they cost around 1500 but they will last you a lifetime, you can find them for 600-800 used
The diemme is great. I got the throwing fits collab of them. Definitely true to size, Im a 13 in Nike, 12/12.5 in adidas, I got the diemme in a 12 and it was a bit too snug
A boot I absolutely love is the Nike Manoa boot! It’s a great boot that is comfortable and affordable, they’re only $90. I went down a half size and they fit great! For reference, I’m a size 12 in most Nike shoes other than AF1s.
Dr M's are a classic boot in my country and wearing them is a statement in itself, and the punk history behind them don't really make them a hype boot but as a respected one. Loved learning about some new boot companis. Love the vid Drew, beautiful and chill as always #pvv #PVV #PostVidVid
Was wondering about Virón boots. Got a military green pair in my sights that I liked the look of but didn't know if they were good or not. Luckily for me, you came through.
I just picked up the Packer x Fracap collab white horse fur boot. I think there’s some small similarities to Danner boots could be wrong but overall beautiful boot and a great start to my collection. Price wise I think they are justifiable especially since it’s not your run of the mill Fracap boot and they only do a certain color way once. They’ve got a few different versions still sitting online in smaller sizes.
Axel Arigato also have a similar style to the Diemme boots. They’re priced around £300 (The cryo combat boots in particular) but are definitely a nice pair to mention
hey drew this video was pretty good timing lol ive been thinking about picking up a pair for a little while now. As always the video topic is interesting and the video is entertaining and pretty informative. As always great video
Just picked up the Dr.Marten Combs tech boot, and they're absolutely fire; a great entry way into boots if you're used to sneakers. I also picked up some ACW x Converse which is sorta a boot/sneaker hybrid. Part of me wishes I went for the Yeezy 950 duck boots, because those go way harder in the current fashion culture compared to when they dropped.
Just to add some alternatives for the danner, take a look at Fracap, still handmade in Italy in house. Really nice boots plus you can personalise almost everything 🖖
I would recommend also looking for old ones on Grailed, or just finding vintage military ones on MilSurp (Military Surplus) sites! Austrian paratrooper boots were my favorites - now my fashion pair, I was lucky enough to happen upon a pair of Ann Demeulemeester Vitello Backlace boots for about $450 on Grailed a year ago that just needed a resole and conditioning, which only cost me another $160.
