GREETINGS EVERYONE, SOME THINGS I WISH TO YELL TO YEE: 1. Please if you have a moment tell me your fav boot/boot brand! 2. The Prologue Jacket is coming back very soon...more info also...VERY SOON! 3. Let me know if you have any longer laces I can use for my Wolverines
Red Wing Iron Rangers remain the gold standard to me. Loving the rough out 8083s recently. Also like my red wing classic Chelsea for a casual comfort option!
Currently my favorite boot/brand right now is Solovair, I never saw myself getting into chunky sole boots. I normally wear a leather sole or flat rubber sole. However their dealer boot just really caught my eye and got me to put research into the brand and I fell in love. They are have become my most worn boot, even though I only bought them in November of last year.
Another vote for Grant Stones. I love them so much all the boots I've purchased in the last few years were all Grant Stones. QC, materials, craftsmanship, and customer support are all top notch.
The production value of these videos are just so creative. I try to listen to them on my commute but it's dangerous because they're just so watchable that I find myself watching instead of just listening. I love the effort he puts into making them seem so random and all over the place. Of all the talking heads I follow on UA-cam, this is easily one of my favorites.
Always felt connected to vintage fashion as a teen and had some stuff. But only recently later in life have I really compiled a leather and denim USA goods collection. Sold and gave away most of my shoes and clothing and started fresh. It’s a good feeling to feel put together in your clothes.
I loved the video. That being said, aside from like two pairs you explicitly said you'll keep or get rid of I have no idea which ones you're actually selling. Downsizing the collection when there's no glaring issues with any piece sure is hard!
My first boots were the same wolverines. Loved them! I wore them down too much before repair and essentially ruined them… ended up donating them a year of so ago and just brought myself to replace them. Went iron rangers and very happy. Loving this channel, glad I stumbled on it
I figured it out!!! Your style is essentially if a very young man has officially begun his trade apprenticeship, and he and his mother tried to figure out what a working man looks like. A clean stack of boxes.
Michael I’m glad to hear that you like Cowboy Cuts. They are fantastic, and I am in love with them. If you haven’t already, you should get a pair of “rigid” cowboy cuts, they are raw and can get some really nice fades with Wrangler’s broken twill fabric. Much love from Maryland ❤❤
Don't get rid of the Wolverines! There's something sentimental about the first pair of boots you ever get. Who knows, they might also end up in a museum one day! An Iron Snail Museum? Maybe. For laces, I would check out Guarded Goods. They have a lot of interesting colors, tannages, and a variety of lengths for their laces. Been watching since the $600 pair of Levi's STF. Happy to see you and Taylor be able to not be a gazillion-trillion miles away from each other. Best of luck!
Hey there Michael, for the sizing issue with your 1000 miles boots, I'd say take them too a cobbler and get them relasted. They'll be able to change the shape of the uppers a bit so that way they fit better on your feet and that means a new sole too where you can get something with more grip!
The fact, that the legendary michael, from iron snail.. has been to our small country! And that his gf chose to study here, mindblowing. You make me want to use a lot of money on clothing my man. Big cheer from denmark
Congrats on the co-habitation. Smart getting rid of shit ahead of time. I only have my iron rangers and my Bean boots and I think I’m good. I’ve reverted to being more of a sneakers guy. And by that I mean Vans. Just Vans.
It's funny that he referenced the Jim Green's feeling like tanks. Those are Gareth's exact words and I fully agree, all of my JG's have felt like little tanks, especially the Rangers!
I know what you mean about the Thousand Miles. I got my first pair of monk straps as factory seconds from the Allen Edmonds store in Port Washington in 2001 (!!!!). I’ve resoled them three times, and, honestly, they look awful now-really beat up, discolored suede, the whole bit. BUT I won’t get rid of them because they were my first pair of my favorite shoe style. I haven’t even worn them in four years. I probably should get rid of them, though, just like you should get rid of the Wolvies.
You know, I always enjoy when an Iron Snail video drops. It's like an art project, ad and movie all in one. You have to watch till the end to make sure you didn't miss anything and then contemplate rewatching just to make sure.... THE BEST 🔥🔥🔥🙏
I love that I am quite the opposite of you and yet tend to love the same shoes/clothes ! After decades I bought some doc Martens again, and I am wondering what took me so long... Though this time I bought the boot version of the 1460 instead of the 8 eyelet version :) Barbour is also a great brand for boots !
Like every guy with a boot addiction, my favorites depend on the day, week, or month. Currently I'm living in my Redbacks. Better than Blundstone in almost every way. Blundstones are more fashionable, I'd say.
I had a laugh about the Wranglers, from the beginning of the video I couldn't help noticing them and wondering what they were, they look so much better than any other pair you've worn. Similarly, after trying some other modern denim brands, my favourites remain the Lee 101 original and '50s Riders and since recently a pair of the original Cowboy cut Wranglers (I found a cheap deadstock pair from the '70s on Etsy) . They know how to cut and shape a pair of jeans to flatter men, I guess a half century + experience matters. And the original Wrangler 50's denim shirt with the slant pocket and the later '60s version with the pointed pocket remains the best looking and most iconic denim Western shirt in the world, in my humble opinion.
Congratulations on reunion with Taylor. I find 6 pairs of boots comftroble standard. 3 minimum to keep them in good order and dry them, but than you are locked in to rotation and cant simply ware them frealy with out boot dryer. Im weirdly sorry wou are selling those 3335. I thouht you really like them
i used to main blundstone 585 for years, to the point I needed a new pair completely every 1-2 years. moved to barefoot shoes these days so I'm trying to be nicer to them since they cost more.
Hi Snail! Need a winterboot for Swedens rough winter! Loved the Russell Mockasins but they dont seem to carry your colorway anymore? Have also been eyeing the Astorflex Rockflex, I just think they are stunning! Any thougths or other recommendations? Long time fan, love the work and is really inspired. thx. and yes you are never allowed to wear a jean again.
As I'm going in for a 2nd pair of Paraboot Michael, this time with Marron while I already have Cafe, I now have to go through the process of lying to myself again about how those two shades of brown look different to human eyes.
Y'know, I've never considered bluntstones as something I'd personally wear but those extreme ones, like the Timberland pros mash things together in a really nice way so they'd be ok to wear either on the street or the site. I think I'll look into them. Those hokas look insane too. Total recall shoe for sure! Ha ha ha. And yet, why they kinda....
Seeing as this video is all about downsizing this probably makes no sense, but you should definitely give a pair of whites a try at some point. They're amazing boots!
My favorite boot is probably the Birkenstock Birmingham. They are definitely overpriced but I've been looking for an anatomical foot shaped boot that is comfy, quality, and doesn't look like duck feet! I loved them so much I have them in 2 colors. I'm weird about my shoes/boots to where they have to be anatomically foot shaped.
Great video. And I support downsizing (especially for the reason). But you should definitely try some Nicks (unless you hate them in which case you shouldn't!).
I think my feet are smaller than yours. I wear a size 8 in most boots and shoes but for boots and shoes that run large like red wings I’m a size 7e. I’m gonna be ordering Russell moccasins soon and they recommended a 7e or 7.5e maybe I can ask for a discount lol.
If you are looking for really good boots...you can go with Red Wing Iron Rangers, Blacksmith, or Beckmans...or you can go with PNW boots like: Franks, Nicks, Whites.
Woah, I really don't like Solovair's updated version of the Monkey Boot. I much prefer the clean lines and utility look form the pair you have. Did you sell your pair yet?

Thanks for the shoutout, buddy.
Glad to hear that your girlfriend is moving in - maybe she can teach you to hem your pants.
Top tier hating. Gotta love it.

Hating? I'm looking out for the little guy. Wouldn't want to see him trip and hurt himself.
Michael you make me want to never wear clothes again.
i have a team of highly trained analysts dissecting this comment right now
That's funny, because Michael makes me want to wear clothes again.

Why?
Indeed,@@sourodeepbhattacharya9734 - Indeed.
Honored that you enjoy the Backcountry so much! Thanks for the shout!
Don't know if anybody else noticed but... look at how weird Michael wears his jeans at 1:04!!
I didn't even notice

Love my Blundstone's. After a 18 years of use the soles crumbled and Blundstone replaced the boots no questions asked. Customer for life!

The cinematography of this video is great. I like the kind of awkward comedic style, the story, the lighting, and the pace. Great work.

Michael, I only knew you from Theo & Harris. It’s awesome seeing other content from you, genuinely one of my favorite creators. Keep killing it
michael please do a video on military boots it'll be really cool
Anyone notice those jeans? I distinctly remember being asked to comment about them 😗
Jeans? I haven’t heard that name in years
My style mantra “I love looking at them but they don’t look good (on me)”
I love that I am quite the opposite of you and yet tend to love the same shoes/clothes !

I’ve been meaning to ask how the ‘minimalist’ lifestyle was going, this answers my question 😂 keep up the good work
Great comedic timing and wordsmithing. Naturally funny guy.
Did not know Michael from Theo and Harris had his own channel. Love your content here!
Like every guy with a boot addiction, my favorites depend on the day, week, or month. Currently I'm living in my Redbacks. Better than Blundstone in almost every way. Blundstones are more fashionable, I'd say.
If I had money, I'd buy everything that you have. love your contents! long live the iron snail!
Have you ever took a look at a pair of Truman Boots? Probably my favorite pair, they're quite pricey though.
Damn, if getting rid of those many boots isn’t love then idk what is
Pd. Also thanks for making the boot video, I was really looking forward to it🗿
great channel. congratulations on taking next step w your girl.
Thoughts on the new Jim green boot that came out today? Barefoot ranger? It would be great get your take on these - and barefoot shoes in general!
Quite an eclectic boot collection you have. Would love to see all the other shoes in your collection.
you should resole those first boots of yours, they look great.
Can’t wait to buy a pair of those Squarespaces you reviewed 😍

The Wrangler Jeans looks dope.
Outstanding fit... only Wrangler makes these bad asses
This was beyond entertaining. Great work. 👍🏻

Great video. Your brutal honesty is the absolute best.
i used to main blundstone 585 for years, to the point I needed a new pair completely every 1-2 years. moved to barefoot shoes these days so I'm trying to be nicer to them since they cost more.
Mannnn if the Red Wings were a 10.5, I’d be bothering you for them lol
And no Viberg 145ssss? Those are awesome!
Hey Michael, please make a video on Astroflex Bitflex Chelsea boots. Thank you.
What a fun hour watching the Blundstones 585 from birth to the end
Hi Snail! Need a winterboot for Swedens rough winter! Loved the Russell Mockasins but they dont seem to carry your colorway anymore? Hey! We shifted the color way to a darker brown in the same tannage. Will be introducing other leathers to the model down the road.

The number 9. Rain boots are giving animal crossing rain boot vibes in a fun way!
Wrangler cowboy cut (rigid)👍🏼is the way to go

hey you broke the rule
How do I buy those red wings?
Seeing as this video is all about downsizing this probably makes no sense, but you should definitely give a pair of whites a try at some point. They're amazing boots!

Tips for where to sell boots? I've never used any sites like ebay.
Good luck man!
I had to check out when you mentioned shacking up.
Thanks Michael for the video.
What size do you wear and where are you selling them?
Where can i find black warp and black weft denim that fades to white?
I wanna hear about which watches you're culling, LOL.
Great video. And I support downsizing (especially for the reason). But you should definitely try some Nicks (unless you hate them in which case you shouldn't!).
Will you please do a review on the Thursday boots Captain
You just made me insecure about my Shoe size 😂 you should make a "i sold all my clothes and became a minimalist" part 2 video
Michael, what were you thinking rolling those jeans inside!?
Such a nice video! I wish you the best for your new life with your girlfriend. This was one of the best decisions I've had in my life!😊
Where will you be posting the boots for sale? I'm interested if we have the same boot size!
I really want those RW 3335s and prefer secondhand!
I need a pair of those Russell Moccasins!!
I find alot of boots way too heavy. Those Hokas look really light and comfortable, plus they probably make you look taller.
Keep up the good work michael
That’s what I’m talking about!
which cowboy cut are these? The original or slim ?
If you are looking for really good boots...you can go with Red Wing Iron Rangers, Blacksmith, or Beckmans...or you can go with PNW boots like: Franks, Nicks, Whites.
I can't tell if you script your videos. I don't even like fashion. You make genuine educational entertainmet. That, i watch.
Well, I guess the recommendation I sent you to buy the Grant Stone Brass Boot Chromexel Wedge Sole was made at a very bad time lol
I cant wear underpants any more .
I wonder is it the same reason
These boots were made for walking 'well maybe' and that's just what they'l do !!
Time to exclusively cuff my jeans like that and if anyone asks about it I’m blaming Michael
I have to wear a size 6 Men’s even though the shoe scale thingy at the shoe stores say I have a 7.5 men’s size foot.
@xThe_lron_snail1 how do I hit you up? Do you have vintage 501s for me?
If I sold 80% of my boot collection id have 1 boot
How are you starting with 5 boots?
Great content great production
When does the prologue drop again?
You gotta save those Wolverine's for the inevitable Iron Snail museum!
We’re visiting New York again soon 😁😁
Woah, I really don't like Solovair's updated version of the Monkey Boot. I much prefer the clean lines and utility look form the pair you have. Did you sell your pair yet?
I can't wait to finally feel happy
ah yes the relationship to collection purging pipeline lol
So what other hobbies am I gonna discover that you have a channel for? Lolol what a small world
Did I have a micro coma or... cause I think I missed that 3 pairs that you are keeping.
where are you selling these boots/shoes?
and what's your viberg size
Cowboy Cuts mentioned

Michael, the jeans in the Russel Moccasin boots b roll footage don’t look so hot rolled up that way, just thought you should know king.
Guacamole! Who makes your music?
watched the whole video and i cant remember what was kept or sold xD
