Having quite a wide forefoot I personally love the comfort of my Birkenstock Bryson boots. The sole could be more durable and they probably won’t last forever but I find them surprisingly easy to style and cozy to wear.
Yet another fantastic and helpful video, Harry. I have as well been struggling with picking up a pair of boots and the video is right on time, mate.
Glad you enjoyed it mate
I would recommend getting the gore-tex version for the Red Wing Moc. They are surprisingly more comfy than their regular variants, and they're waterproof as well. Another boots I want to mention is Paraboot. MIchael is one of my favorite derby boots out there right now. They're well made, and very versatile imo.
Both solid. Paraboot michaels aren’t my style but they are a great shoe
I own a pair of shiny Solovairs and often wear quite simple outfits so they add an interesting touch
Harry i love your humor, you’ve helped me elevate my style and pass some really dark times while moving to Germany. I appreciate you bro.
Glad I could help bro and hope you are all good now. Germany is amazing so hopefully you enjoy it there. My wife is German so we visit a lot. 🤟
I haven't grown up enough for the moc toe shoes
If you buy from US stores, you can ask them to leave the value off the box. This way they will be valued lower for import making the fees lower as well.
Another amazing video, Harry! Thanks for sharing with us!
Cheers from Brazil!
Thank you bro. Have a good rest of y or r weekend
100% recommend the red wing moc toe (and it’s not just because I’m a red wing employee lol). I hated it at first and now I love it. Get the 1907 version and you’ll be happy. If you want them darker, just oil them consistently!
I fell you when you talked about wanting what you want!😅
The heart wants what it wants! 👌
Harry, thanks a lot for posting this type of content you really have caused an impact in my wardrobe. Keep it up :), I’m anxious to get a new video.
Thanks for watching mate. Working on the new one for Sunday right now 🤟🙏
I bought the vagabond camerons a few weeks ago. They are not too expensive and i love them. They are in my opinion totally worth the price
they also have them in both a version with laces and one without, depending on what you prefer.
Hi, I was considering buying the Camerons as well how do they fit ? I was reading the instructions on the website about the sizing and I am 277mm do you think I should go for the 42 or the 43 size?
Thanks
I’ve talked about Vagabond in previous videos. Glad to hear they are decent
@joaosousa2258 i was between 44 and 45 and went with 45. At first i thought about buying another pair to see which ones are the best but i just went with the one i had and they are fine imo. So if you are close to 43 maybe go for them. You can always send them back if they´re too large :)
@@joaosousa2258 I got their jeff boot and i was around 270mm and went with 42. They fit me really well so i'd go with 43 if i were you.
You should look into English made boots such as Trickers and Cheaneys.
I have a pair of Cheaneys Elliot Derby Boots in the black grain leather which is amazing - you can dress them up or down with a suit or black denim and leather biker.
Another favourite of mines is my Trickers Stow Boot - these feel amazing and are solidly constructed that’ll last me for years.
Plus point is once the soles wear down, these are repairable unlike AMI and some of the other brands you’ve mentioned.
Everyone needed this 😅
I like buttero side zip boots too. They are like a toned down cowboy boots that goes with jeans, cords and even certain types of wool trousers
I have 3 pairs of low top Tanino sneakers from Buttero, including one that is 11 years old. All still going strong, and looking even better with age.
Great to hear mate. You don’t find much information on them online. Would love to know how this exact pair of boots hood up.
I love me a pair of boots! It takes a lot of effort to stop me from buying a new pair. But the one that has always stuck by my side are my 6inch Alburn Timbs - I have worn them the hell and back. They were my motorbike boot when I still rode and they're still going strong today!
Amazing video! Thank you so much, it was really helpful!! Loved also the end with the import taxes ahaha
Haha thank you mate
My favorite pair of boots at the moment are Chelsea Boots with a little thicker/chunkier sole.
Pretty versaitle and can be easily worn with wider jeans as well as with tailored trousers.
Had red wings for years and years. Mould to your feet and had an official resole multiple times in the uk ( although my collection might still be excessive even after selling half)
1:43 this is now the THIRD time Harry has directly featured an item that I've had bookmarked for weeks 😂 and just like the last two times, I'm gonna go buy it now 😊
Hahaha I like your taste mate 😉
The moc toe Redwing is a "heritage" (old-fashioned materials) boot. Much tougher at first, but molds to your foot. They make a few other great boots.
Buy the red wings, one of my favourites, and once you break them in, theyre like clouds.
Just got my hands on the Veròn 1992z during sale at a local shop (118€ instead of 250€) and couldn't be happier. Best wishes from Berlin ☺️ really appreciate your content
Do you have sizing suggestions?
A few boots to research (I think you’ll like) Grenson Dudley boot, jacques soloviere paris Pio boot or Rasmus grained version, churches Havant (just hit sale) and the highly underrated Officine Creative balance 009. Ps out of your vid you know the camion is my go to.
I do know this pairs and all solid. The Officine creative Pistol boot is more my kinda thing and was on this list originally but I like the suede model best and I don’t really want a suede boot. I do like boots (more like shoes though) from Jacques But they aren’t something I’d probably wear currently. Churches are always a good brand but pricey and I like Grenson a lot but none of them grabbed me from their current collection. All good options for others to check out though and thanks for sharing
if i ever lived in a cold climate, i would definitely want to try blundstones
Love my Blundts!
For guys living in cold climates and looking for winter boots, I can't recommend The North Face's boots enough. Back-to-berkeley IV specifically. Very comfortable, durable, waterproof and they look good imo
Are they warm enough ?
Also are you talking about the textile or leather versions ?
Yes agreed! great traction in ice and snow
@@MultiGames4You Yes, they have good insulation and are warm. I have good experience with their boots in both leather and textile versions.
great video as always ^-^ your fashion advice has been greatly improving my confidence to dress nicer. i recommend you to my friends who are looking for advice on mens fashion. big up
Awesome to hear mate and thanks for recommending the channel to your friends. It helps out a lot so massively appreciated
Interesting selections I noticed you selected a ton of Black boots. I find Black boots to be for less versatile and wearable. Great video!
I always wear black boots really. Just my kinda thing. Thanks a lot
Crushed to hear about the fine-print nightmare, my dude! What a bummer. Also I’d love to see some “day in the life” style vlogs where you take a camera around town! I love England, and it would be cool to see where you live!
Cheers bro. I won’t be doing that again in future haha. I enjoy watching vlogs and day in the life videos but I like to keep my private life private so it’s not something I’ll be doing here I’m afraid.
Thanks to you I got my hands on a pair of Ami Paris boots for a good price🙏 They are the ones with the black eyelets. I hope you found a pair too.
from my expiereince, if you to buy docs, you should deffientley look towards pairs made of nappa/pisa leather. these are deffentley more durable than classic smooth leather
Awesome video ❤
Thanks a lot mate
I just got a pair of black Blundstones, I love em.
Great vid. Great choices…….im just looking for something waterproof and comfortable for the winter ⛄️
I recently bought a pair of boots from Urban Shepherd boots, and the price to quality ratio is great in my opinion! They are a small company who make their boots by hand in Portugal. Based on your selection the models of the boots might not be to your liking though, however you might like the black Scouts model!
It’s a lways good to know more about what’s going on in the fashion world, even if it’s not my style, so I’ll check them out. 🤟
Nice video about boots. Yeah, import taxes are a tricky thing. I got difficulties because of one Jjjjound release. I liked the Adiev and Our Legacy Camion very well.
Thank you 🙏
found a new pair of viron 1992 for 90 euros new in my size 🙏🙏 gonna be wearing your boots from now on harry 😂
Since Brexit, ordering from the UK has been really troublesome because you never know if you're gonna have import fees or not. I can imagine the pain it must be the other way around
Yeah it’s a nightmare. Really annoying
Sorry you had to deal with all that hassle! Great video as always.
It’s all good. It’s taught me a lesson and hopefully it will help people to check those kinds of things. Thanks bro
Polo Ralph Lauren Oslo High boots look nice Harry. Quite unique style and texture. Reasonably priced as well
I’ll have a look into them. Cheers mate
Bottega veneta puddle boots and their Tire Chelsea’s are really dope.
The oree boots would look great with your style i reckon. I would have a look at the grenson brady boot in black and also paladium boots are a weird converse/boot hybrid that i actually like the look of. Personally i wear red ring briar oil moc toes although i wear mostly heritage wear so they fit right in.
I do think the Oree boot would be good for me for sure. I’ve seen the ones from Palladium and Grenson and they are cool but not quite right for me.
Justin Theroux is one my boot inspirations. And he was these r13 wedge sole boots that are beautiful. I Ended up getting a pair of White's 350s with that similar look and i love them for my growing style. Im also gravitating away towards black shoes but i also love my Solavair Chelsea boots. So comfy
I do like the solovair Chelsea’s
I had great hope when I bought some solovair brogue boots. The tabs came away almost immediately, the leather stained and leaked almost immediately and never recovered looking like the were almost cracking in the first two weeks.
I love my pair of combat boots from Solovair I think they are worth the money. Nice video
Great to hear mate. Thanks
Personally own the Orees, hands down best money ever spent🙌🏻 Been wearing almost daily for over a year and they have held up amazingly, they’re still like new
only thing is they are quite a bit chunky in the sole if anyone cares
Great to know. I like a chunky sole on boots so sounds good to me
Grenson have some fun fashion forward boots, you should check them out!
They are a great brand
Interesting how most of the options are mono black as I typically find that very limiting and often too dressy especially so that these designs are all fashion forward and feel like they're made for the runway. Also, those grain Chelsea boots are fire. Way too good to be an honorable mention.
Adieu: I've bought the Type 196 a month ago for my trip to NYC. The quality is impeccable and I love the style. They're a bit chunkier and more punk rock than the 165 and I like that. I already own a pair of "regular" black boots and I needed something more "fashion forward". Initially I was a bit worried about the comfortableness because of the chunky zipper on the back. I had no issues walking 10 miles per day after properly breaking them in.
This is my first winter in Canada I need a boot. This helped
You might need something more heavy duty over there with the winters you get
Best Winterboots for me are Classic Timberlands. But sometimes they look a little too chunky....
Harry, you should take a look at the Leo Leather Lace-Up Boot from Banana Republic. Love the combo of grain and smooth.
If you look for a heritage workboot check Nick's, White, Redwing. If you look for dressier style you have to check Briselback (Benzein) and Northampton (more sneaker style than boot)
I think in the next summer i will wear linen pants with blue shirt
And birkenstock sandals so beach vibes
Are u a mind reader? I was just about to consider buying boots because I want something different to wear for a change. And yay another Harry Has video! >:3
😉
I've 47 yo, and I clicked on your channel because of the Red wing 875 with Hideous on it. I have a pair of these Red wing Moctoe for more than 15 years, have changed the sole twice, but they look brand new. But my favorite pair of boots, for decades now, is the Iron Ranger, still from Red wing. I hated them when I was younger. But now it's black Iron ranger on monday, brown iron ranger on tuesday, then black, then brown...while I have a dozen of different boots.
I have Solovair’s 11 eyes astronaut that’s I took to the cobbler immediately and got Vibram soles added to them. Nothing but great things to say I love them,They’ve been my daily’s for almost 3 years.
I’ve been thinking about doing something similar. Add a chunkier sole to a boot and get a more unique look
If you like the doc Martin style but want something more premium then check out the unmarked riot boots. The style is a little different and they cost $400 but I think it’s better looking and the quality of them seems to be very high. I haven’t seen them in person yet though.
If I were you, I would go for the Greasy Grain from Solovair, or the Type 165 from Adiev, since they're quite minimalists and you already have a more "overloaded" pair with the Viron ones.
I just wanted to shout out a couple of more brands like "The Last Conspiracy" and Paraboot. The Last Conspiracy in particular is very similar to Guidi. They won't fit into my wardrobe at all, but I really wish they were my style because I love them.
Hey, I ordered a pair of Viron 1992 boots and am having a hard time getting them on. My question is whether the zipper on the 1992z can be opened completely to make it easier to put the shoes on?
these are somewhat more expensive but loake has some nice boots that might work with your style, some look pretty similar to the solovairs but with way better quality, also easier to dress up if ever needed. if you really have money laying around you could also look at crockett and jones, similar to loake, but more expensive. i have one pair of their derby boots and they are just really comfortable and super high quality. both are expensive but could last your entire life if you take somewhat decent care of them.
Loake boots are a little too dressy for me from what I’ve seen but I have some shoes from them and they are good quality
I've got a pair of loafers and a pair of boots from Adieu that are very similar to the ones you are interested in. Purchased both at the same time in last year's sale. A year later they still look brand new, but that's only because I never wear them. I find them absolutely uncomfortable. Pity, because I really love the design of Adieu footwear. Hope this helps.
What about rain boots? I have seen on the Viron website that their boots are waterproof, but keep the foot dry on rainy days? And if not, witch ones do you recommend? Thanks!
Wanna know what’s funny
I watched your boot video from 9mo. ago literally last night… ty for posting 😅
edit: I’m only beginning to look into boots more recently since I don’t have a pair
Leave it to Harry to get me to open my wallet! Thank you for always bringing out a wide array of brands.
Thanks for watching bro
I have had a pair of Red Wings for 14 years. Still not tired of them, they age beautifully. Also have helped tough out every Minnesota winter.
Loved all of the contenders. After watching this video, I think I’ll need a pair of the Oree.
Red Wing 8828 Moc Toe Boots. Soon to be a classic.
I hate zippers on boots. From my experience zippers are always the first thing to break on a good pair of boots.
I'd love to be proven wrong someday though, because some of the zippered boots you showcased here look absolutely beautiful.
Yeah I know what you mean. They are great to have to get in and out of a boot though
Zippers means low construction quality, as it will break way before anything else.
I really like the viron boots, but can they be resouled? If i buy a pair id want to keep them for a long time. If anyone could answer this I'd appreciate it very much.
Fair warning on the zipper closure on the 1992Z. I had that same closure on a pair of Docs.
It didn't work. In boots of this style, you want to be able to tighten down to conform to your foot.
You can't do that with the zipper. I tried multiple configurations and they were always ill fitting. Eventually, I tossed the zipper bit and went back to lacing.
They have laces too
@@HarryHas oh, good. The Docs had both options, too.
I think my next pair will be either the Khaki 1992 or Thursdays Quest.
buttero boots look absolutely amazing ❤ think no further my guy😂😂😂
I’m gonna pick them up I think but waiting for a sale if possible
i guess chunky boots are in trend with the oversized look. Me I prefer a timeless classic boot like a captain from Thursday boots. but that’s me just to mention a kind of style i’ll go for.
I don’t think most of these boots are chunky to be honest (apart from the AMI boot). I’m not really into the oversized look for me personally either but it looks cool on some people for sure
@@HarryHas gotcha 👍
Hi mate, very useful video as I was looking to buy the viron 1997 boots but not keen on that hefty import tax! Do you remember roughly how much they tried to charge you for your 92’s?
Cheers!
Try Ecco boots because the cushioning is fantastic and boots feel light and comfortable compared to other more brand name boots.
Love the video Harry. Perfectly timed too, as I've been eyeing up a pair of solovair for a while now. I do love the Viron boots and think the styling of them is exactly what i'm after. Can i ask how much the import fees were going to be? I'm also in the UK and don't fancy a heart attack when they arrive
It was just over £70 so far. Hopefully not the same again on their return!
I got my last pair from Farfetch or somewhere like that but they didn’t have the 1992z there now
I got loafers but they are a bit shiny so i am little sacred to wear them with a casual outfit because i think the loafers are a little on a formal side. CONTEXT :they are a bit chunky , black . HELP
Ugh sorry about the import fees and missing out on the Ami’s again :( Personally looking into getting a pair of Red Wing mocs - again - really regret selling my first pair a few years ago. Looking forward to seeing what you’ll end up buying!
I’m still undecided right now. Keep changing my mind. At the moment I’m loving the idea of the Butteros but the price is steep
The Butteros fit you really well style wise I think and the quality should be really good :) If you end up getting Red Wings be prepared for the break in which should be horrendous 🙈
Such a shame about those import fees! I've been stung with that in the past as well. I've picked up some new boots which I'll be showing off next week, wish I had watched this first though because there's a couple of bangers in here that I might have picked up instead!
Can’t wait to see what you got man. I’m still yet to discover a lot of boots so always keen to see more options
what size are your Viróns? are they TTS?
I've bought Fracap m120 boots.
Black. Heavy. Reliable❤
These looks so cool, too bad my wallet are too tight for them. Thank you for showing me these great silhouette tho🎉
Thanks for watching mate
Do you know the brand The Last Conspiracy? I think you might like their boots and they usually have a Black Friday sale every year and they are based in Europe.
Harry could you do a video on growing out your hair? I am looking to do the exact same and would love to hear your insight
I would just advise maintenance cuts every 6-8 weeks and grow it out. Talk to your hairdresser and they will be able to advise you
RW Moc Toe is the best! However you seem to gravitate towards black colored boots and Black RW moc isn't as appealing as the brown-colored versions (esp briar oil-slick). All the best with new boots Harry!
I know what you mean about the black RW. I like them but I’d rather go for a black combat style boot if I’m going black. Thanks mate 🙏
Does anyone know if I can find the Oree boots from any reseller in the UK or only from their US shop?
Lol nooo, the thumbnail photo! I wore my Red Wing 875's today. They're such a fall staple for me. I can see why other people don't like them though, but they just scream fall for me and go great with a jean jacket. Quality is amazing, but do be warned the break-in period can be rough, but very comfortable after thats done. I wouldn't wear them for a full day right out of the box or even 3-4 wears.
Did you watch that part where I talk about them in the video?
I’m saving up for a pair of Solovairs at the moment. They’re actually cheaper than Dr Martens’ own Made In England series.
Ahh there you go then. Even more worth getting than the docs then 🤟
All my winter boots are from ECCO.❤
🔥🔥🔥
I got a pair or Solovair tassel loafers and i love everything about them except damn the footbed/ toebox is so hard! Even a good 3 months of wear and my toes and ball of foot are just getting beaten up by these shoes every day. I think i got the sizing right so i don't know why it's like this, just somehow there's a lot of pressure on these points. Just a word of warning from my experience for anyone considering solovair. I was expecting an all day comfort shoe but a day of simple officewear and I'm begging to get them off by the end.
I’ve heard the Docs are pretty uncomfy on them too
I bought a pair of the black apple 1992 Virón boots on sale on SSENSE around black friday, they didn't fit so I returned them looking to buy a larger pair. As you know, Viròn is environmentally conscious.. SSENSE denied my return because they claimed I didn't return the Virón shoe box with my order, not realizing the shoe box IS the package, so they destroyed the shoe box opening it up and blamed me. Total nightmare experience!
Never had but wish some hiking boots from Fracap, Danner, Diemme
I really like Blunstone boots, they are very popular here in Sweden
They are very popular here too.
Re: Red Wing moc toes; There are lots of brands making classic American work boots; White's, JK, Thursday, JK, Origin, etc
I was looking for those AMI boots everywhere. I saw a pair on Grailed a size US 9.
I saw those too. I could probably squeeze into them but import fees again
@@HarryHas maybe they will cross your path on your side of the pond.
Hey Harry, you might’ve missed my comment on the last post but I was just curious what size you got for your overcoat from A Days March? I’d really like to pick one up, and we’re similar sizes so I was hoping you could let me know. Thanks
Mine was a medium. Not sure they sell my exact coat anymore
@@HarryHas Thanks Harry. I went ahead and ordered a size 50. I’m between medium/large so I figured as an overcoat I may as well go for the larger size so I can layer comfortably when the weather demands it. The one I ordered is called the “Bristol” coat. Not sure if it’s the same or not. Either way I’m sure I’ll love this coat
Get the heritage mock toe boots from Red Wing I see your boots are always black put some color into your boot game plus they patina very beautifully I own a pair myself and there awesome
Hey, you should look at the malfroid boots, good quality and they look amazing
I’ll check them out
If you are interested in boots, it is worth checking out Justin Reess England, more refined than these clumpy black boots that look like they are designed for prescriptions.
Why so negative bro?
