The perfection in their togetherness. Those riffs, then hit that fast rhythm trail. I love the drummer! All that physicality smashing and catching cymbals! Those fills that fast rhythm! H.SH’T
I have been following Band-Maid since 2016 starting with this songs MV. I saw them play last year in LA and I will see them again in LA in 5 days. Not only are these ladies saving Rock & Roll, they are crushing it like bands used to do in the 70's & 80's
Love you guys, haven't seen you react to Band Maid in ages. They've released so much great stuff in the last yr. Hopefully you and your lovely wife one day. Will get back to in the not to distant future. Reacting to them again, be well !
I have followed this band for almost three years and while it is true these wonderful women comprise the very best hard rock band working anywhere on the planet today it is equally true that if you haven't seen them perform live you haven't really seen nor heard them. That was confirmed for me again at the Echoplex. They are simply the best today at what they do.
Hi from the UK. Saw them live in London last November and lost my heart to These ladies. I've been a rock fan all my life, and in my 55 years I've seen some of the biggest bands in the world. Seriously this was one of the best gigs I've been to. Their energy was infectious, their playing was tight. Their set list was incredible ( absolutely no filler tracks), and they are cute as hell....What's not to love???😁
Totally agree. I also tell all my friends that this band is not just amazing but it really SAVES the idea of rocknroll. Dont know how to formulate this idea, but they look rock, the play rock, they act rock, they sing rock and everything they do is sparkling with life.
@@jtdg5849 except they aren't "cutsey" French Maid costumes. One her first go around Miku failed to break into the JPOP idol scene. This forced her to take a low paying job at Maid Cafés just to pay the bills. That Maid costume was her work uniform. She wore that get up at work. It was there Miku got the idea to present as Maids, have people form an opinion on the appearance and then melt faces with blistering hard rock. Miku calls that the gap. The gap between appearance and reality. It underpins every thing this band says and does. FYI when Miku got the idea for this she had zero experience with rock n roll and she couldn't even play a musical instrument. No one in the band she willed into existence outside of JPOP or JROK had ever played rock music. Steep learning curve. And all because of small pigeon. Love Band-Maid to death.
Another reactor said a very true statement, that Japanese female bands will guarantee the true rock and roll will continue in the future. And Band-Maid is the cream of the crop.
In May 2016 I went to a little underground rock club in Shinjuku and saw four short sets. Band-Maid were last on and I fell for them completely. A week later they had their first major label release and later in the year went on their first world tour. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to discover them in such intimate surounding. Oh, and the third band were very different but also blew me away. They're called exist†trace (yes, spealt with the cross in the middle) and are well worth a look. They been around quite a while and gone through a lot of changes musically. Saw them again at the same club this year.
My wife and I saw them last Nov. in San Francisco. It is more fun in person to be sure. Especially in a small intimate venue. We were about 2 people up from the stage right in front of MISA (the bassist). A must see if you ever get the chance.... like maybe next year in the US cause their 5 shows coming up are sold out LOL
I've seen them a few times and there absolutely no better show in music. They work their butts off. 20 songs in one hour and 45 min. your come out of there with your head spinning
You’re right Band Maid is bringing rock back to the world! The women in Japan are kicking ass on every body ! Here you go try this one from Band Maid. ua-cam.com/video/foqErbEw05o/v-deo.html I laugh a lot watching Band Maid to out of sheer happiness haha🤘
I love this version of the song Misa looks pissed out of her mind and Saiki looks to be teasing her. They are talented and hard working but still a bit wild . So much fun.
This was the second to last of a 26-song setlist, but they seemed to have unlimited supply of energy and enthusiasm, still pull it off as hard as the first song, which is the norm instead of exception for Band-Maid. That's why they are the best active band to see live! It's more admirable they seldom make mistakes, hit wrong notes or miss a beat, which shows how dedicated and hard-working they are. I just hope they continue to enjoy performing and working together without being worn out by tour schedule, media exposure or label management, because I'm still longing for my first experience of Band-Maid concert! Oh, I forgot to mention I really like watching your several reactions to Band-Maid, so many grins and wide eyes!😁 Reminiscent of my feeling when first watching their videos. Before Band-Maid, I most often listen to music conveying anger, despair and gloom(ISIS, Tool, Envy(Japan), Mono(Japan), Cure, Slowdive… to name a few), but now I only need the joy and momentum in Band-Maid's music that reminds me of why I started to explore rock music as a teenager. 🙌
You have to check out some of the other Japanese female bands, Aldious, Doll$Box, Show-Ya, Nemophila, Lovebites, SCANDAL, Girlfriend, Maria and a host of others. There are at least 20 good female rock/metal bands in Japan right now. Band-Maid is at the top of the heap. You should also check out Wagakki Band, who do folk metal, rock and pop, with the influences of traditional Japanese instruments mixed with Western instruments. They also have the finest vocalist to come out of Japan in Yuko Suzuhana.
I will be able to tell you in 5 days. I will be seeing them in a club setting. Only 250 people allowed in. Concert sold out quickly though. I know the fan cams of Band Maid look excellent. It is like a one on one conversation between the servers (Band Maid) and the audience. Lots of picking and playing with the fans. Think Slipknot show on a smaller level.
Cool reaction, mate. You and your wife must check out FREEDOM Live- ua-cam.com/video/FYGcOB8S_AM/v-deo.html This clip shows you how much they enjoy themselves on stage and how quick they react on the fly... Saiki (singer) is lost in the crowd so Miku (rhythm guitar) has to take over the lead vocals.
@Amor odio Amor It's interesting that you would say that. Kanami, the lead guitarist has played classical piano since she was a child. Thier drummer Akane plays trombone and piano. Bassist Misa started playing piano around 3 or 4 years of age, and also plays trumpet, alto horn, and guitar.
Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction. You will get plenty of Band Maid requests. Nearly all their songs are this good in my view. As you say, the live performances are best but there are a few good music videos from Band Maid.

Look: you affirmation "the only thing unique to them is that theyre wearing Maid outfits hence the name" it's completely ridiculous. The first thing I do with any music I hear is blind listening. That is to say without seeing anything about how musicians are dressed or anything. Then if I'm interested then I look technically and how the composition is going. I tell you that Band Maid does very different things and at least musically better than the rest of the bands you name ...... She loved this song! Ill have the edit soon. Thanks for the request. Pure awesomeness!

Saiki for President. They also write and arrange the music. Very different from the manufactured Idol groups.
