Back story on this one: Ren read a newspaper article about a 14 y.o. boy who stabbed & killed a prostitute while robbing her. A policeman was quoted as saying, "It's such a shame." Ren was effected by the story & his creative mind brought us his telling of this Shakespearean tragedy.

The miracle is that they found their way back to each other. The tragedy is that it was in death. Even after about a hundred times , it doesn’t get easier. Jenny’s Tale came out first and was based on a real story in the news about a fourteen year old who killed a woman on the street. Screech’s Tale was next and , feeling like the story wasn’t complete, Violet’s Tale came a couple of years later. It’s a masterpiece and a masterclass in storytelling.
Not all of his music evokes an emotional response, but quite a bit of it certainly does. This one gets me every time. Thank you for your reaction … loved it ♥️🐇🕳️

Just adding a bit of a comment. All of the Tales was filmed in Brighton where he lived at the time and calls home. We have all been there at the end of Violet's Tale, it came out two years after Jenny's Tale and Screech's Tale( these were several months apart). Generational abuse. Violet's parents probably came from abusive families, on back in time. I am sorry you have gone through trauma. Peace to you. Here is hoping that Ren will be able to overcome Lyme Disease and the Bartonella co-infection this time. He has been ill with the disease since around the age of 19. All love and health to Ren.
I have often wondered if Ren had the whole trilogy planned out when he started out because of the long gap between the release of Screech's tale and Violet's tale. But surely he has to have had it planned out because it all connects so well, and the is some foreshadowing in the previous tales... I'm guessing the long gap was due to health issues, but you never know with Ren, I wouldn't put it past him to have seamlessly added the twist as an afterthought... I'm 90% thinking it was pre-planned but there 10% of me that doesn't know. 😂
@@chrisparti I suspect he did, but because of a global lockdown, that kind of put a stop to filming. And then when he could film, he had a whole load of songs he wanted to make videos for before he went to Canada, and some of those songs will have had priority over other songs. Based on budget, locations, people available to help, which ones he wanted to film more etc etc.

I’ve read that REN is mostly self taught on the guitar and learned a lot by watching other guitar players play and through UA-cam videos, which may reflect why he has such a unique playing style. I have heard other reactors also comment on his picking. One chuckled the way he played base in a busking video that REN doesn’t play base like a normal base player, lol. But his talent is amazing! ❤️
I know, hard to watch, but Ren's presentation of such events is off the charts. Epic story telling. I've seen multiple comments saying that this was based off an actual news story. Either way this is yet another subject society chooses to ignore instead of talking about. Jenny's tale 2019 and Screech's tale also 2019 about 6 months later. Violet's tale was I think 2022. I assume because of a pandemic, global lockdown and his getting ready to go to Canada, which meant he was recording a lot of music and videos for the stuff he was going to slowly release while he was unable to do more music while he was going through treatments. The clue is in Violet's tale. In London City, far from pretty, 2 0 0 5. 2005 + 14 years = 2019. A harrowing and hard to forget song about intergenerational violence. THIS - is why Ren is such an amazing soul. Loved your reaction!

I subscribed after watching your Hi Ren reaction.. checked out a few of your movie reactions.. they were great and I thought.. he will love The Tales it's similar to a movie.. its more than just a song.. its a production.. just an amazing piece of art. Loved your reaction to the guitar gun.. something I came across a while back was an alternative Jenny and screech song.. it is on a UA-cam page called Renegade.. its actually a AI generated song but the author put a lot of work in getting it how they wanted it.. anyway.. the song has Jenny break the cycle.. instead of responding to the situation by freezing and saying nothing like her mother would have.. instead when screech get the knife out she speaks to him.. she steps towards him and shows interest in who he is.. he is perplexed but after a few more words by Jenny he drops his guard and they have a conversation and the cycle is broken for both of them. It's actually pretty good.. not sure I'd react to it as it is AI but you should give it a listen as it really is well written. Love the reactions and you have a sub for both channels in me. Great job. I love when someone gets it.. realizes that giving a genuine reaction to these things are why people come to these. So thank you for being yourself here. Appreciate it.

The fact that he is able to evoke such emotion is haunting. Ren may be the most prolific musician of our time. He shines light on the darkness of humanity. We try to ignore these parts of our society, but in the darkness, they grow. With the safety of our willful ignorance, these parts of our existence become stronger. Ren, by telling these stories, combats this willful ignorance. Not only is his talent remarkable, but beyond that, what he decides to do with that talent is beautiful. He is truly fighting against the forces of evil.
I always cry when I see reactions to this collection of songs. Guess I'll head over to Return of the King to cheer myself up a bit. I actually watched a LotR marathon last Saturday. Bunch of people watching over Discord. We started at noon my time (Sweden, we're an hour ahead of the UK), and finished at midnight. That was a lot.. But fun! First time I've seen the extended versions.
If you're a fan of storytelling through music I highly recommend listening to dave -lesley it's very different to this but another outstanding artist you have to listen to!

Jenny's tale 2019 and Screech's tale also 2019 about 6 months later. Violet's tale was I think 2022. I assume because of a pandemic, global lockdown and his getting ready to go to Canada, which meant he was recording a lot of music and videos for the stuff he was going to slowly release while he was unable to do more music while he was going through treatments. The clue is in Violet's tale. In London City, far from pretty, 2 0 0 5. 2005 + 14 years = 2019. A harrowing and hard to forget song about intergenerational violence. THIS - is why Ren is such an amazing soul. Loved your reaction!

I knew this was going to be a good reaction.. I subscribed after watching your Hi Ren reaction.. checked out a few of your movie reactions.. they were great and I thought.. he will love The Tales it's similar to a movie.. its more than just a song.. its a production.. just an amazing piece of art. Loved your reaction to the guitar gun.. something I came across a while back was an alternative Jenny and screech song.. it is on a UA-cam page called Renegade.. its actually a AI generated song but the author put a lot of work in getting it how they wanted it.. anyway.. the song has Jenny break the cycle.. instead of responding to the situation by freezing and saying nothing like her mother would have.. instead when screech get the knife out she speaks to him.. she steps towards him and shows interest in who he is.. he is perplexed but after a few more words by Jenny he drops his guard and they have a conversation and the cycle is broken for both of them. It's actually pretty good.. not sure I'd react to it as it is AI but you should give it a listen as it really is well written. Love the reactions and you have a sub for both channels in me. Great job. I love when someone gets it.. realizes that giving a genuine reaction to these things are why people come to these. So thank you for being yourself here. Appreciate it.

The fact that he is able to evoke such emotion is haunting. Ren may be the most prolific musician of our time. He shines light on the darkness of humanity. We try to ignore these parts of our society, but in the darkness, they grow. With the safety of our willful ignorance, these parts of our existence become stronger. Ren, by telling these stories, combats this willful ignorance. Not only is his talent remarkable, but beyond that, what he decides to do with that talent is beautiful. He is truly fighting against the forces of evil.
I always cry when I see reactions to this collection of songs. Guess I'll head over to Return of the King to cheer myself up a bit. I actually watched a LotR marathon last Saturday. Bunch of people watching over Discord. We started at noon my time (Sweden, we're an hour ahead of the UK), and finished at midnight. That was a lot.. But fun! First time I've seen the extended versions.
If you're a fan of storytelling through music I highly recommend listening to dave -lesley it's very different to this but another outstanding artist you have to listen to!
