Thank you so much for your video , I have a different midi foot switch called Ampero control I am trying to connect to the Valeton also via wireless midi but I don’t know how to pair the foot switch with the midi wireless receiver , any ideas ?
Ciao. Are you trying to pair the Ampero controller with the Mvave receiver? Sorry but if that is the case I don't believe it could work. The pairing between the Mvave chocolate and the Mvave receiver is automatic as they have been designed like that, any other pairing must be done from a computer or a smartphone, I don't see how to tell Ampero control to pair with the receiver. Sorry
Hi my friend, with this method Bluetooth is used so there is latency but it seems so short I could not perceive it. My Valeton suddenly died and I still don't know the reason, but all my searches confirm it is really uncommon, this device seems to be very robust, I could find very few people reporting malfunction and I would say nothing like my case.
Hi Mate! your video has helped me a lot, I just have one question, can I put two distortions? 1 distortion on the valeton footswitch and another distortion on the m vave footswitch?
Hi my friend. If you mean having the possibility to change the distortion effect through the pedal, for example between GREEN OD and OD9 too bad you can't. Built-in pedals cannot change selected effect and there is no midi command accepted by the device to switch it (great limitation compared to other machines). You still can create a different patch and switch them or work with distortion on different blocks, you still can activate independently a booster in front of the distortion to change it a lot and also select a distorted amp and use a tube screamer and also a a booster before it to get different distortion stages (my favourite sound as you can obtain strong distortion but maintain clarity). There is also a third option that is changing parameters through the knobs on the fly, in next weeks video I am planning to show some examples. Bye
Currently I have available a NUX MG-30 that is great, for home or studio use it is far superior to the Valeton but for stage use the Valeton in unbeatable.. I would like to purchase the Valeton again as I was refunded by Amazon but I purchased it at 280€ while now it costs 360...
Thank you. Do you know if it's possible to control the valeton (with midi adaptater) with a Smartphone (for example : if i press a button on my phone, it will change a bank ?) ?
Ciao. Ottimo video complimenti.
Hi. Mainly PC are only on/off signals while CC are bearing a value between 0-127. So the PC are perfect for toggles like turning on or off an effect, CC are better for example to set a volume level. Valeton uses only CC even if it has mainly on/off options
Hi! I dont own a valeton gp 200 but i have the gp100. Im having a problem with my C and D switches, it is in momentary mode rather than latch mode and i dont know how to turn it off.. Do you know a solution for this?
I am sorry I am not familiar with the 100. If it is similar to the 200 you shall find the option for switching between latch and temporary under "general settings --> Footswitch" or something similar
Could one use a midi patch cable between the send and receive of the valeton itself, and control the valeton through the midi mode? This would open up room for “snapshots” like changing gain and eq of the amp via the onboard switches via midi
@@TutoJam ah that was my fear as well. Very sad if so. Wish they’d just come out with a new update that would at least let the switches be changed from release to push reaction. That and bypass the fx loop
Hi. Very helpful, thanks! A question: Do you know how I would turn the "Hold" function on and off? I'm not sure how to address it with a CC or PC command. Also: the first entry in the MIDI Control Information List (in the GP-200 manual) refers to the "Bank MSB". Do you know what they are referring to, and what the values are that they list there? Thanks in advance, again, am very glad you've posted these videos!
Hi. HOLD: it is a PRE effect, you need to select it in your preset and then you can turn it on or off with MIDI but you cannot select it from MIDI, the GP-200 has no MIDI command to change the effect in a block. MSB: too long for a comment alone..
@@TutoJam Ah, thanks again! I have it a step further. I'm sending teh GP-200 MIDI messages from my iMac running MAX/MSP (a compositional environment program sold by a company here in San Francisco called Cycling74). It turns out that HOLD is actually a MOD effect. At 28-D, I made a setting called "FREEZER" that implements HOLD. So: I program MAX/MSP to use CC#23 at value 50 repeatedly to find 28-D (Or CC#22/50, and/or in combination with 26/50 or 27/50, though I haven't tried them yet). Then I strum my guitar (plugged into the GP-200) and send the GP-200 CC#54/100. Bang--HOLD turns on. If I send it CC#54/50, it turns it off. Yeah!
So, I need to write a little program to have MAX/MSP search for the 28-D position and stop when it finds it, and then I can program it--and similarly, any of the effects--from my computer.
It would be great if I could just give it the effect address without multiple sendings of CC# 23 and 24 etc., though. If you know how to do that, please let me know. But you've been really helpful; thanks again.
OK, GOT IT! I guessed what the "BANK MSB" was. It does exactly what I wanted: jumps directly to the effect address. So I send it CC#0 and PC#111 (which I found through trial and error) and it jumps immediately to 28-D, where my "FREEZER" is. Fantastic!
@user-ee2jm7pl4p oh well that is quite easy, switch the valeton to MIDI mode (see the manual) and you can set the messages to send when a pedal is passed or the expression pedal is moved. It is a little limited but can be done. I could make a video for sure.
Too bad I cannot test it as I do not own the JR but when I tried with the regular GP-200 it was not working even if they report it as supporting MIDI through USB, I am expecting this to be due to missing USB host (a PC) in the connection. GP-200 is not working as USB host. Sorry I cannot help more than this.
@@TutoJam why do i need 5 pin to jack adapter? the Midi input on the LT is similiar to 3.5 jack... so that's that mean i need to use 6.35 to 3.5? which is the 6.35 goes to 3,5 midi input?

what are the MIDI commands for the Valeton's ABCD footswitches? I want to use the chocolate only to 'clone' those buttons
Hi, in the manual on page 73 you will find them all. Look for the commands for CTRL1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8
@@TutoJam These ctrl are to turn on/off effect blocks though. I needed the same as the ABCD buttons do in the bank/patch mode...

It could be possible using the MIDI mode on the Valeton but when it is activated you cannot use it anymore as effects
