What name did our orphan baby baboon choose?

To raise funds to support our newest orphan, we did a "naming fundraiser". We raised over $250 which will truly help a lot towards his rescue and rehabilitation.
This little guy's mum was killed on the road, he was driven to a nearby animal care centre but they didn't rehabilitate baboons so we needed to collect him; sadly he was in a bird cage all alone when we arrived.
He's skinny and sad, very food obsessed. This is how a lot of orphans arrive to care but with love and TLC they soon find their spunk again. Samantha and the care-givers allow for the sad, tiny orphan boy to pick his name. Honestly, food is so much more exciting than paper names; but we get there eventually!
This little fellow is now growing up at C.A.R.E. and after putting on weight in the nursery he was integrated into a new baboon family with a baboon surrogate mother. His next steps are FREEDOM!

I think Dylan is a good name for him. It is also important to change his nappy (diaper) frequently. Within every changing intervals, it is important to apply nappy rash cream as well as baby powder since monkeys 🐒 including baboons, macaques, and capuchins are quite prone to rashes as well as any other primates can also get rashes. And also try using baby wipes to clean their nappy area thoroughly so there is no mess left hidden.
