I simply love this version. The band lays the simple rytmic tapestry, and the singer loads off the thickness and saucyness to the song. You can really hear how many different techniques she uses in her singing without it stealing the sensitivity or soulfullness in her interpretation. And her sudden sandpaper tweak at 1:37 gives instant goosebumps. What a candy for the eardrums.
I keep coming back and listening to this version. Can't get enough of it. Laura's voice in the second verse is out of this world. Sam on bass is amazing. Bring him back Jack. Laura needs to come back too!
