Definitely. Probably the biggest sellout band in history IMO. I just don't have any respect for that kind of thing. Songs About Jane sold a shitton anyway, I think it was on the best selling list here in Norway for over a year if I recall correctly. The fact that they're still a band confuses me, as the new stuff sounds nothing like anything a band would produce. It's just like the 3000 pop stars of today with nothing to say with their music.
@@filezplays would be new to me, you sure? The bassist is Sam Wilkes, he plays with Cole/KNOWER, Rai too, he plays keys there. But Vulfpeck has Joe Dart on the Fender Bass and I've never seen Sam or Rai on one of their songs...
Scary Pockets fans! This is a special one here: collab with Darren Criss! Hope you dig. Also, we got another session coming up next weekend. I was thinking we should do a funk version of Brubeck's Take Five. What do you think?
First off, he sang this so well and so naturally. Second, the way he builds up on how he moves throughout the song, is genius. I like this better than the original.
I love Darren Criss !!!! He is not just a beautiful person , but he has so many talents that puts Him in a whole new category in the talent word .......WOW ! GORGEOUS MAN !
The dude in the keyboard is having such a great time I can't help but join him and vibe this awesome song! Kudos to the whole band, great performance!!!
Scary Pockets make more covers with him he fulfills the funkiness of your whole work 👌🏼👌🏼 love him, love you guys! Greetings from germany! Stay funky!! 😁
I totally misjudged this guy. Assumed he was a tool and was auto tuned and only on Glee because he had “the look.” Turns out he has serious pipes and plenty of soul. I stand very, very corrected. Beautifully sung, my good man.
Jay Lambert his voice was never auto tuned on glee and he literally wrote plays before glee look up starkid Avery potter musical lmao he wrote all the songs
He also wrote the music for Starship. I feel like Glee didn't do it's very talented cast any justice. Darren's voice is insane and he is the only reason Blaine worked. He gave Blaine heart when he was written as kind of a tool.
What I like about your work is that seems that you put all the effort into exploring the possibilities of the arrangement rather than changing your set up or tone to get new music. The fresh new version is achieved using pretty much using the same gear every time (more or less). I think you emphasize in your process the potential of rhythm and the thinking about the transformation of the song rather than going too fancy in resources through a deep creativity and reflection about what every instrument is doing when is doing it and in what sort of pitch zone is singing or just supporting the voice or another instrument. Maybe I'm wrong and you guys do this without even talking about it...but anyways great work. Cheers!
This is the best version of this I've ever heard! Fantastic. I have to edit this and say: I've just listened to it again and it's seriously good. Jesus, it rocks! What a talent - Criss was superb as Versace's killer and he's effortlessly brilliant here. They've done Gallagher proud.
Amazed to see Rai Thistlethwayte playing guitar here. He is the lead singer/songwriter of a great Australian band called Thirsty Merc who in my view were hugely underrated. I always like those youtube comments where someone recommends an amazing song that I would never have heard of otherwise, hopefully I can pay it back by recommending Thirsty Merc's "20 Good Reasons", "Homesick", "In the summer time", and "Someday, Someday" ... great songs

Makes me wish I could play that funky music and join in!
The piano man is the happiest person i've ever seen
Pd: I won't ever get over Darren's voice
The piano was electrified
probably because he's the CEO and cofounder of patreon and gets to do this for fun

Patrick Hunter you'd have to put down the pick and overdrive to figure it out lol
Patrick Hunter legend has it that his fingers make panties spontaneously combust.

Edgar Allen Poe plays guitar?

Jeff Goldblum does too!

And that funky bass was killin it.
The whole thing is great!!
Thumbs up for the bassplayer

I came here first because of Darren, but then watched a bunch of your other videos and you guys are amazing!!

Jack Conte, funk in "5"... I'm intrigued! Bring it!
I'm so happy there is still real musicians with real talent making real music. Love Scary Pockets

Many of the Glee cast were underutilized into High School Musical ripoffs. Even Melissa "Supergirl" Benoist herself can sing very well

You got the Sound!
You got the Funk!
You got it right!
