@@Drox02 I'm pretty sure they're playing live here, ye. I even think that main vocal and keys are from this recording we see here. Overdubs, guitars, percussion, and brass section are recorder in studio after and mixed together with live. Overall appearence of this performance is a result of good quality video, professional look and of course fun of playing on the street with awesome sound! The guy behind mixing table is making sure that they can hear themselves well while playing, It's totally normal procedure when playing live concerts with soundsystem.
It's so funny to see Kenton Chen singing backgrond vocals so humbly and so joyfully. To me, he's a superstar.
I love people like that! The most badass bass player I ever met is the most humble cat ever. They do this because it's a part of who they are so the what's, how's and how much doesnt get in the way of their talent. I'm going to check out Kenton now. Be well and thank you for posting that comment.

I think he exaggerates and doesn't fit in at all. The only superstar I see is Dannielle. She owns it. Everybody is doing an amazing job, but he's annoying.

Kinda ruins this to be honest. The singer is incredible but he's a weird distraction as evidenced by all the comments about him.
4 years later This is still a Scary Pockets classic. When I walk by a busker on the street playing this cover or hear this song covered by someone else on the radio or something, I sing along the way they sing it here.

first time watching it and i couldn't help notice the bassist wasn't into it and seems like he is having a very bad day and want to quit the band xD haha ofcoures i made all this up in my head, but what's the deal with him? he alright?
@@TheSabatuer he also wasn't playing like he normally does. Kinda staying restrained and just doing basic riffs, no fills. Lots of dirty looks at the singer too. I wonder if she told him to 'tone it down' or something. The way he unplugs his bass and walks out at the end tells me something definitely happened before this take

I keep coming back to this one. Definitely my favorite of everything that's been done to date. There are still good musicians out there that don't need any technical help to play tight and in-tune music.

Let a man record at what looks like 6am without a big smile on his face without ya'll commenting that he has depression!! like WHAT! At the beginning of the song, you can totally see he's feeling the groove. This was probably many takes in and he honestly doesn't look sad or angry at all, just blank-faced if anything, which tbh is not uncommon for a focused musician. Just discovered this last night and I am astounded at the beautiful sound of this band. The singer is just undeniably charismatic with such great vocal control and interpretation of this song. The best part is watching artists who are so much in the moment, enjoying what they're doing.
