I'm hoping to one day get into the Invincible comic series and then check out the TV show. But damn this species is a prime example of self destruction. First they grew power hungry and wanted to force worlds under their boots, leading to a civil war with those who clearly didn't share the same ideals as so many others. The need to stop this clear threat to universal conquest grew so bad that a member of their own species would rather see basically all his own kind wiped out rather then let them continue with their conquest. Now barely even 1% of the pure blood species remains and they still are intent on conquest until the bitter end. If I was a member of the species I would have said screw conquest and just moved on to something more peaceful.

That's a great catch on the philtrum/upper lip thing, I always assumed it was a play on nazis/Hitler but is Mark really stronger than Immortal? It seemed like Mark is very durable due to being a viltrumite but his blows did not seem to hurt Nolan at all. At least Immortal drew blood and War Woman was able to bruise him. And didn't Allen the Alien fight Nolan before on his first visit to earth that's why he asked Mark where did his stache go? He should've probably figured out Nolan was a viltrumite. Kinda scary to know that Nolan already knows about the Coalition of Planets, he may warn the other viltrumites about them, that is unless they kill him for abandoning his post. I think he actually didn't know about the Coalition of Planets at the time, or at least didn't know Allen was a part of it. Or else Nolan probably would have tried to k*ll him. Allen never told Nolan anything. He just came to Earth to test its greatest defender, which was Nolan, by acting like a villainous alien that was trying to inv*de the planet. Allen had been coming to earth to fight Nolan for about 15 years, and Allen NEVER knew he was a Viltrumite until Mark told him. And he had actually been going to the wrong planet for all of those years. He got Earth confused with a planet by the name of Urath.
**spoilers** After abandoning his post, he went to another planet to start over, only with a different outlook. He was much more passive towards the new species called the Thraxans, met a new wife, and had another kid, named Oliver. Thraxans are not like humans at all. They are a bug-like species that grow up much faster than humans, but have a super short life span. The offspring looked like a goofy shaped humanoid with purple skin and he developed his powers as a young child (at a couple of months old, he looked like he was about 5 or 6.) And the older he got, the more he started looking like a Viltrumite and his skin started turning white. He actually surpassed Mark for a little bit (until he got killed) due to developing much faster, however Thraxans are not as compatible with Viltrumite DNA as Humans are, so Oliver has an expected shorter life span and wouldn't get quite as strong as a pure Viltrumite or a Human/Viltrumite hybrid at his maximum potential, that's where Mark would eventually surpass Oliver back.
Actually no, from what i understood, allan thought he was going to Urath, not earth. Urath might had a protector or something, as well, stronger than mark, but way weaker than Omni man. So i guess if he had actually fought Nolan at that time he would get killed
They remind me of france with the idea of the "white mans burden" where the french think they have to hold their colonies and think they are helping the "uncivilized" peoples of africa and southeast Asia and the white people gotta stay in power to keep the "lower races" civilized, and thats very racist. Now we look at the Vultrumite Empire, they are strong and durable, stuff like that. And they live in a very social darwinistic empire(survival of the fittest basicly) they see the lower aliens as "uncivilized" and conqoring them and helping them would keep them civilized, very xenophobic
i mean, the same thing can be said to every European colonizer from Uk, France, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, belgium, Italy. Everyone of them had the same idea of what the "other" was and almost the same tactics of colonizing and subjugating the natives. From a colonizing Stand point, Viltrumites had a great plan for colonizing and a much more efficient one tbh. Sending little men to go to a place and present himself or herself as a protector of somesorts. Tell the natives of how great their planet, people and culture was. But their most full proof and efficient plan is the plan to increase their numbers by intermixing. By mixing they increase their numbers and grow a substantial follower to their cause. ofc they were descendants of viltrumites and as we know, blood is thicker than water. That was the tactic of the Spanish for example, the french and other colonizers didn't really adopt that strategy but despite the Spanish wanting to mix with the natives they had different circumstances from the other europeans which led to them mixing, but they are about the same with the french and english when it comes to racism.

Not quite, sure the older they get the stronger in the same sense a human gets stronger as they get older, there’s still a peak during their physical prime and then they’ll get weaker it’s just biology…an elderly viltrumite would of course be weaker than a middle aged viltrumite
I don’t get why mark didn’t go to that alien world where time passes much faster than earth and just age incredible fast, train and return much older, stronger and more powerful so he can take on the viltrumites and his dad 🤷♂️

Oh yes, they are a huge threat as they are stronger, live longer and have better technology than nearly any other species. They have to branch out as they live so long their planet would be over populated because they don't die.

@@tscravenger7825 it's a great question - I don't remember off the top of my head but we know that Viltramite DNA is much more dominant a gene. So it is likely Mark's daughter is a full blood Viltramite (even though she technically isn't). So if she doesn't have Eve's powers, that's likely why.

That's a cool idea. Like there was a planet that existed hundreds of thousands of years ago that died and all their people took off in different directions, hoping to find a new home. And a few of those ships found planets. Then the evolution of those people caused the differences. I love this so much.
The way the scourge virus decimated the viltrumites reminds me a lot about how the saiyans were wiped out. Most of them (99.9%) were on the planet when it happened but those that weren’t there (Nolan from invincible) (Vegeta, Raditz, Nappa, Goku from dragon ball) survived
Yeah, we've received that comment a lot. Kind of wish I spent more time digging into those two races and talking about the similarities and differences.
I don't know if this is fully canon, but I've heard the explanation that Viltrumites made themselves that strong through technology. By creating "smart atoms" that are stronger and more resilient than normal atoms, they can become the psuedo-gods that they are.
My favorite theory: using computing tech to make themselves GMO, to make biological robot cells, probably using heavy water in cells, and using some sort of atomic density trick to make their cells heavier or permanently atomically stable, so that would explain a lot.
When you think about it, Viltrume is more or less how Krypton would have turned out had it not been destroyed and had a yellow sun

There is still an "over the hill" stage. Also, age alone doesn't dictate the strength. There are some that are just stronger than others.
