- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Image Comics character "Thaedus." From being the first Viltrumite to turn away from their species' conquering ways, using his scientific genius to develop both strains of The Scourge Virus, dispatching of the Viltrumite Emperor Argall, taking his qualms with the Viltrum Empire to the point of founding the Coalition of Planets with the Unopians and Geldarians among others to resist the expansion of the Viltrumites' Empire, helping develop the Unopan breeding program to create an alien Super-Soldier that resulted in the powerful Allen the Alien, leading the Coalition's High Council in it's strategies for victory, sparking the Viltrumite War by ordering the incursion at the Dridell Outpost, personally leading forces to the orbit of the Viltrum planet, using his genius and strategic mind to enact an impromptu surge that destroyed the Viltrumite homeworld, to his valiant last stand-off against the strongest Viltrumite ever named Grand Regent Thragg; Let's take a look at this wise Image Comics superhero, and one of the smartest and most strategic Viltrumites in the Invincible Comics Universe. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

I agree with you. Thaedus was very brave to turn on his own people and help save a lot of innocent lives. I understand where the 8 rating came from but this guy deserves a 10 rating

His hand was LITERALLY the hand that affected EVERY single Viltrumite, every conquered planet, EVERYTHING.

I don't know about this one. This guy killed a Virtrimite ruler, created the coalition of planets, created the scurge virus, created Allen the alien, and took out the Virtrimite homeworld. I think he should be better than a 8.

After finishing up the vid, I thought about it some more and figured that he could've gotten a 9. 😁 But this isn't an exact science, so I let it ride... Especially since it was 2am! 😅👍🏼

After thinking about it (and finishing recording 😅) I wanted to give him a 9, for some of those very reasons. 🤔 Including the fact that he's a BEAST of a leader and warrior! 💪🏽😎 Small difference in rating. But it WOULD just feel right. 👍🏼
@@NewSage I wouldn't call him a beast of a warrior. He killed Argall from behind, not exactly what I called a great warrior's action. EoS Invincible could probably decimate him, but still definitely a 10.

According to the pseudoscience of physiognomy the more visible the Philtrum the more healthy and robust the person is but the moustache pays homage to an Austrian painter WW1 soldier who was one of the central figures of WW2
Fact: Thaedus is going to appear in the second season of the Invincible TV series. He is voiced by legendary voice actor Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime in much of the Transformers franchise).
So happy that Thadeus is now voiced by the great Peter Cullen.

thaedus plan is to have Thragg realize that he has no hope of wining and let him take earth hostage. by having the vultrimites holding earth hostage and hiding by living as humans it which would inevitably make the vultrimite more human, Thragg fell for that trap.

I love this character so much he should get an instant 10 he is a badass in every way he orchestrated a resistance against his own people to stop the evil that his people were spreading throughout the Galaxy and together with Nolan and Mark destroyed his Homeworld just to stop thragg; he should have been the second strongest character next to him, he should have been the one to rip out his heart at the exact same time he got his head ripped off wonderful character can't wait to see him in the Animated Series!
Na I enjoyed seeing his head get ripped off. Having him kill Thragg would defeat the purpose of having Thragg be the strongest ever.
@@marcusmulethaler5367 respectfully it wouldn't for it would show that even though he was the strongest thaedus's will and drive to win was more powerful remember he had genius-level intellect the writers should have played on that and showed that between the brains and brawns the brains always win out, and if it had been written where they met up with Luther Strode and train with the Herculean method it would have went entirely different with thragg!

Choose which race you would like to be, between a saiyan, viltrumite, or a kryptonian
Daxamites in the 31st century. they're technologically superior to all 3, they've developped a solution to their "kryptonian" equivalent weakness and their population can't be counted on 2 hands.
Or whatever race metroman is from (from megamind), since he has no known weaknesses and is notably faster than all 3 races at their peak potential.

This is the dude that, _by his own will,_ defied the conquering ways of his people, took out the brutal king of Viltrum, formed a coalition to fight against his own people, and held true to his beliefs for _millennia,_ to go against the Viltrum empire.
Nolan was deeply conflicted and had to be shown by his son, another species, and circumstances that his conquering ways were wrong. Mark was born on Earth, hadn’t developed his powers until late, and had empathized with humanity.
Thaddeus was alone in his march, but he _kept marching._
Thaddeus is truly a 10/10 if you ask me.

Edit: Yea, no. After reading other comments, I realized I wasn’t trippin. He deserves a 10.
Thaedus was a badass character but speaking about power he wasnt so much powerful, he probably was a little above regular Viltrumites but far away from Mark, Nolan and Allen's league. You can note that when Thaedus order to fly faster to destroy the planet and Mark and Nolan are very calm. Also, both Allen, Mark and Nolan were able to exchange blows with Thragg while Thaedus died easily with 1 blow.
Thaedus wasn't weaker than Nolan & Mark though, it's just that the whole time Thragg wasn't taking them serious until they blew up the planet and then he got pissed and stopped holding back. He could've easily ripped off the head on any of them, but he went straight for Thaedus because he's the one who killed their ruler.
