The one thing which got me is that all of this isn't a set. When they wanted to do the supermarket showdown, they approached the then owners (Somerfield), expecting to be refused, on grounds of disruption, cost, not the kind of thing a supermarket should be doing... Much to their surprise, the store said yes, they'd love it...
Either he's an idiot savant or a natural tactician stifled by the fact that anyone who took one look at him without actually seeing him in a position of command would think he had no business whatsoever being responsible for other officers' lives and therefore never promote him from entry-level work. Kind of a vicious cycle in the second scenario if you think about it.
My theory is that these were all excellent Police Officers/Detectives, they were sent to Sanford by the squads they were outperforming, where they were brainwashed. Angel was the first from London, THE CITY of England and therefore wasn't able to be brainwashed as easily, that's why they all have different accents. The squads that they are from didn't know about the Sanford Village
Some of the more famous and/or modern roles people might recognise. Doris played Queen Elizabeth II in Seasons 3 & 4 of the Crown Big Andy played Viserys I in Season 1 of House of the Dragon. Michael played The Hound in Game of Thrones Mr. Webley ('edge is an 'edge innit) played Walder Frey in Game of Thrones and Mr. Filch in most of the Harry Potter films. Frank was Professor Slughorn in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows pt. 2 Chief Inspector played the Minister of Magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 and Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. Met Sergeant was Bilbo in the hobbit films and Dr. Watson in BBC's Sherlock. Tom Weaver was the original Robert McCall in The Equaliser 80's tv show. Simon Skinner was 4th James Bond. Reverend Shooter was Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark Janine (at the start of the movie) was Galadriel in the LOTR movies and Hela from Thor: Ragnarok. Finally, a random I didn't realise until putting this list together. Don Rafael Montero from The Mask of Zorro is the same guy who played Dr. Hatcher.
I think they were the guns confiscated from the old farmers shed, which were then stored in the evidence locker, which is why they have the labels attached with string.
Lost a gunfire to a pair of guys with food, poor trigger discipline, constantly racking semi automatics, and a few are running around with open bolts. Still like this movie.
From what I understand based on what little I know of British law and what some others have said in comment sections, British police are rare given anything over a nightstick and (maybe) a handgun in most situations, and only major cities (like London) have cops trained as what the would be classified as SWAT. If this is true then it actually sense, outside of Angel, the rest are using guns they aren't trained in nor certified to use.
Just realized they are constantly cocking their guns before they go in 😂
"listen to me Michel, are you really going to die over some chicken?"
"somebody is"
I'd have loved an outtake on GoT if Polliver had asked the question and Rory had gone 'Yarp!'
They also have a Targaryen
The ending when they all laugh gets me every time 😂
That's the spot I laughed! Why can't a girl hit a girl
They were well prepared to have their deli counters be made of bulletproof glass.
Best village in Britain. They've got a reputation to protect.
They're prepared for the worst sneezes.
I guess it was Ed Wright who said in the commentary that they abstained from destroying the glass counter when they learned about its price.

Clean up: entire store, they left the store after finishing their set
Doris is an absolute Queen!
As a wise man once said:
“Yarp.”
Fair enough.
"Narp"?
wats saurp.
"Right... What did he say...?"
The Hound
hilarious how the most incompetent of the officers, turns to be a tactical genius in a S.W.A.T situation.
He just needed guidance
That’s for sure

Who knows tony might have been A CO19 Officer before transferring to Sandford
@rando5638 either way he has skill
Bolognese line still gets me😂
Try working in an Italian restaurant with that stuck in your head.🤣🤣🤣
“It’s alright Andy, it’s just bolognese”
The comradeship you rarely see among special forces. Let alone the police

"My My My here comes the Fuzz!"
Bulletproof counterglass or what 😂

The director tried his best not letting anyone die in this scene hehehe
1:19 I also screamed "ANDYYYYYYYY" first time I saw this.

Just lower the helmet visors and no face damage from the knife 😭
You deal with the store, I'll deal with the trolley boy😅
Eh?
Cops with advanced gear but old weapons, now that's kinda strange
old weapons look more badass thats why
Plot-related.
The guns are all confiscated from a previous arrest. It's all they had in the station.
I think they were the guns confiscated from the old farmers shed, which were then stored in the evidence locker, which is why they have the labels attached with string.
Bri'ish cops don't usually have weapons to begin with, at least nothing stronger than a nightstick.
Yarp
0:35 3:18
Did you know that the yarp guy is also The Hound from GoT?
Yarp
I thought it was American cause the shelf glass are bulletproof
Idea...

Its a comedy , its making fun of things including the uber - tactical shooter movies. Hence the overcompensating racking
