    I have had 16 kick scooters and 5 electric scooters. Looking back at all my kick scooters, I think the KickPed and the Know-Ped were my favorites. best enjoyed slowly and away from traffic lanes, they are more fun than any other small folding scooter, and the wheel/tire combo visually remind me of racing cars. I had three Know-Peds and one KickPed. That front brake can be removed in minutes and you end up with a simpler KickPed. You can customize the deck too. Designed almost by accident as an engineless Patmont Go-Ped motor scooter, it ended up being a timeless classic. I hope someone always keeps them in production.

    I saw one of these in lower Manhattan two weekends ago. Now I know how it got into NYC!

    I used to have the Go Ped Sport 15 years ago. So today when I saw a pink Know Ped at the swapmeet for $25 I immediately bought it.

    Great scooter. I beefed mine up with some aluminum wheels and a DDM 30" race pole assembly. It no longer folds with the DDM pole, but it's a tank and a half. Pretty much bulletproof. In two years of use I haven't managed to break anything on it, despite my weight generally ranging from 210 to 220 lbs.

      Hi, I have a Knowped too and I really like it. I have aluminium rims billet and Ada Racing Skinny deck. Also I am looking to replace the stock pole with a non folding one. Can I please see some photos of yours and tell me exactly what pole you used. Many thanks from UK.

    what is the handle bar like? does it rock at all? or is it really solid? curious about it due to the bendable joint!

    Are you going to continue offering the KickPed for the foreseeable future as well?

    • @nycewheels

      Unfortunately the Kickpeds we have in stock will be the last of them. GoPed is under new ownership, and costs to create the Kickped again would be far too high. The Kickped was essentially a Knowped with a smaller deck, taller handlebar, no hand brake, and a clear coat finish. The rest of the scooter is exactly the same as the KnowPed, and we don't think it's fair to the consumer to charge more for a scooter with less features. It had a good run, but we'll be sticking to Goped's standard kick scooter now.

    Does it comes with bearing spacers already? Early kickped release has this problem. Do you have distributor here in the Philippines?

    • @nycewheels
      @nycewheels  6 років тому +1

      Yes, all KnowPeds have bearing spacers, we are not aware of any Philippines distributor of GoPed products but we recommend contacting them directly.

    Question: Is the KickPed also 100% stable enough for me as being 6.5 tall?
    Most kick scooters handlebars start rattling when extended all the way up, and thats in no way safe or comfirtable.
    As well as bending over too much for being to low.

    • @nycewheels
      @nycewheels  6 років тому

      The Knowped's bar would likely be too short for you. The most stable option we have would be the Kleefer Pure 180, which has a fixed height so there won't be any rattling. It has one of the tallest handlebar of all the scooters we carry, you may be slightly bent over at 6'5", but still comfortable. The only thing we have that can go any taller are Xootr scooters, which can get almost 1" more of handlebar height taller than the pure 180 when raised to it's highest level.

      Thank you very much, appreciate it, I will have a look at those 2 alternatives!

      LoneBerseker there are a ton of after market accessories for gopeds. Check out davesmotors.com you can customize the pole length, handle bar width, custom billet decks and billet rims, etc. I’ve been riding gopeds since late 90s

      @@LoneBerseker They make a tall version for the Knowped and Kickped now.

      Ramcharger310 Which one is that?
      I see a “large” version, but wasnt that already an option from the start?

    What happend to the kickped?

    • @nycewheels
      @nycewheels  6 років тому +1

      Go-Ped (the manufacturer of the Kickped and Knowped) is under new ownership, and did not want to take on the custom work to make the Kickped. If they did, it would be far too expensive for customers and charging people $300 for the scooter is not something we want to do. The KnowPed is quite literally the exact same thing, and is the scooter that the KickPed was based off of. All the Kickped was was a Knowped with a clear coat finish, smaller deck, no brake, and an option for a taller handlebar. This is still the same great quality!

    What is the height on this scooter with extended bar? Cost?

    • @nycewheels
      @nycewheels  6 років тому

      This scooter only comes with a 35" handlebar (measured from deck)

    • @LakeArrows
      @LakeArrows 6 років тому +1

      I thought it had an extended bar. I ve read that some tall riders find this okay. I am undecided cause I cannot test ride them. Looking for something quiet, smooth, 5miles rides and fast. I am 6'2" tall, 235lb. Your opinion between these three Goped, the Kleefer 180, and the Xootr or other suggestions? Also is there an electric scooter without tire drag to continue riding if batteries drain? Main use is for 1/2mile commute but would like 5mile ride sometimes.
      Thanks for videos and feedback.

      Is there anyway to get the longer handlebar like the one you guys had on the kick-ped?

    • @ricky9720
      @ricky9720 5 років тому

      Poteluz yes there are thousands of custom parts for gopeds. You can change the pole length and the handle bar width.

    I'm 6'1" and 240, would this scooter be good for me? Also is it only meant for sidewalks and streets, or would it be ok to ride in parks that have gravel and dirt paths?

    • @nycewheels
      @nycewheels  6 років тому

      At 6'1" you may find yourself hunched over on this scooter. It is only designed for sidewalks and streets, and should not be used off road. For your height, we would recommend looking at the Kleefer Pure 180 or a Xootr scooter.

    • @umoaire9323
      @umoaire9323 6 років тому +1

      Thanks but the kleefer weight limit is 220 and seems less rugged than the knowped, looks like I'll be sticking with my bike.

      Alpha Sun you can get custom parts for gopeds, you can change almost anything on it. The goped frame material is also made out of the same material they make roll cages out of, Ive never seen one crack, maybe with rust and old age they can.
      And these can be ridden on gravel, it wears the tires down awkwardly, I ride my gas powered Xped on gravel roads when I use it to commute to work.
