It's actually incredibly delicious. Makes for the best drunk food as well. Something about having the melted, solid and half melted cheese all at the same time is just so perfect. Also there is a nice saltiness to it.

My family also does cold slices, but when we do it we fold the pizza as we eat it so the cold cheese sort of melts onto the pizza as it’s being eaten and it is such a wonderful experience

I love this! Hot melted mozzarella loses a lot of flavor (for me) because of the heat, so the addition of the cold cheese would give it more flavor. Yum.

Omg I miss cold cheese pizza. There was this late night pizza spot near the bars where I went to college in upstate NY that made it. It sounds strange but it's so good. I went back years later, sober (lol!), to try it and it was still delicious.
