- You've seen our host Frank Pinello visit pizzerias all across the country-now it's time to get to know Frank and his own pizzeria, Best Pizza, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Frank takes us to the Culinary Institute of America where he first honed his passion for cooking, then to Giacomo's, the first pizzeria he ever worked in, and finally to the neighborhood he grew up in: Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
There's no better way to get to know Frank than through the eyes of his family, so we hit some of his favorite neighborhood places and end it all with a Pinello family dinner, complete with Nonna, pizza potatoes and scratch-offs.

The fact that Frank makes his own mozz is fucking amazing. That takes so much craftsmanship and time. If I catch myself in Brooklyn, I'm definitely making a stop at Best.
You'd be surprised. You can make some in 30 min lol. Not to knock on the guy but it does show if you want the best, you gotta do certain things yourself. It all becomes a part of this multi-layered journey. Cooking is the best. I now make my own breads, fresh pastas, sushi, chinese take-out style dishes, soft flour tortillas for making my own burritos and other wraps, cliff bars, chili, stews, breakfast deli sandwiches on my own english muffins from scratch. Then every now and then, I check out a bunch of tasty videos for some inspiration lol. Enjoy. :) Now confident on various styles of pizza, especially classic Sicilian sfincione and Napoli haha

Ive tried best pizza a few months ago. It was very good but the grandma slice was freaking god tier. It literally was the most perfect golden oily crispy crust I’ve ever held. You get to draw on a paper plate theres a wall filled with them

Frank is legitimately one of the best presenters I've ever seen on camera. Not just at Munchies, or for a UA-cam pizza show, but any presenter/host. Impossible not to like, and root for.

that episode was four years ago... waaaay before he got his Pizza Show. You could see him sportin that Giacomo's shirt inside HIS OWN pizza shop at Best Pizza. Sportin that shirt was paying homage to Giacomo's just illustrates what you said... and he was doing that before he got his own show. truly genuine and a class act.

The fact the Frank pays tribute to Bill Meier for being his pizza delivery guy just shows you how much of a caring human being that Frank is. As well as how much he values human interactions and relationships. Honestly, that’s very special. RIP Bill Meier and God bless Frank Pinello. Much love.

I went to Best Pizza when I visited NYC specifically because of this show. Great pizza and the staff was great. I would've loved to meet Frank but still had a good experience.

I get over to that part of Williamsburg regularly. I tried it and it was decent, though I wouldn't say it was amazing compared to some other places I've been at roughly the same price point and the vibe is a little touristy. I bet the pies are better than the slices. I'll go back again for a second try. L&B Spumoni Gardens, on the other hand, is crazy good, but it's way out in South Bensonhurst so not touristy at all and a fairly long trip.

I think this is the best episode so far. Seeing Frank reconnect with his old mentor, it was like he was a little kid.
"Coulda brought some pizza tho" that had me laughin, and so true tho. working all day in a place like that, nothing would be better than a couple of fresh hot pies to snack on.
I love Franks humility, and light-hearted living in the moment, style...his focus on always wanting to learn more and share it keeps me coming back. Family is his core, sad to see in our society, that is lost on so many.

Frank is the greatest thing to come to "food" TV. The man is a superstar in the making. Reason? Humility and honesty. This my friends is what makes a superstar. Take Gordan Ramsey for example. On the surface, he looks like an arrogant human. But nope. When shown his ways from someone that knows what they are doing (His recent series in the jungles and whatnot) he takes a step back and takes what they have to heart. Frank...dude will take advice from me for no reason on how to make a hotdog. Dude is a legend. I wish and hope and pray to one day have a taste of his pizzas!
This episode is why I subscribed to the Munchies channel. Frank deserves 7 seasons and a feature film.

I gotta admit, the host is seriously such a genuine sweet guy. Always passionate, always grateful and a family man who serves not only his community but serves us with entertainment, social life, food, etc. He is the reason why I am so interested in pizza lately, I crave it all the time now. On my last trip to NY, I went to Giacomo's because of this video. And the influence on Frank's pies at Best Pizza is evident. Quality.

Frank is lucky to live in an area that supports local pizzerias. My city is all about chain pizza, local spots don't last. Most of the local pizza spots aren't going for authentic they're for crazy toppings combos. A small shop with good pizza is all Im asking for.

NYC has a pizza culture, most places don't. NYC in general seems to have a distain for chains outside of the tourist traps.
I live in Washington state, and the pizza culture is almost non-existent here. The only places that aren't chains are overpriced as shit, and while the quality is better than the chains, it doesn't live up to its price point.
There's just not a market for pizzerias unless it's a big city.
In Germany we don't have chains, except pizza hut, which closes one after another, because italy is 2 hrs. by plane or depends on where in germany 5-10 hrs of driving, we have original italians doing original italian pizza everywhere in the country, bless up !
This guy is more than genuine & endearing. How you can tell, he's a great human being.
Frank listens hwith rapt attention to his former teacher. He stands next to him with his arms folded, with utmost respect. He brings up moments where he was taught something, you can tell by the look on his face he is grateful. Frank, you have my heart sir ♥️

Italians in New York and Italians in general have such rich cultural history it just brings tears of joy just by thinking about it.
I have watched several of this guy’s videos and it just dawned on me why he is successful: Humility.
I’m sure there are other people out there with talent and ambition but humility is a rare commodity these days and this is proof that it is still valued. I live in Germany but next time I am in New York I will definitely check out these pizzerias.

Being from a Turkish family I can defiantly see the similarity between the cultures of the Mediterranean (Greek Italian Turkish ect)
Turkish cuisine and generally Eastern food is a whole different world from Mediterranean cuisine. Unless you refer to Minor Asia where mamy Greeks lived before the Young Turks genocide.

I worked at a Giacamo's in Dover, DE. He was the first fresh dough pizza in Delaware and has been making pizza since the 1950's where he started in Brooklyn.
