I went to a food park by the Freedom Tower a while back, and was utterly shocked at how expensive everything was. Yes NYC is expensive, but it's food out of a truck... I mean come on. I ended up just getting some Takoyaki, that was only "OK". NYC sells itself on variety; I've had food quality just as good if not better in many other places. That said, I do love the availability of pizza and halal food ANYWHERE you go.
I like how honest he is about the worth and taste lol. A lot of street food has been turned into the same thing as expensive fair food nowadays. You splurge to suffer.

Loved how the Banh-Mi went through almost a security frisking/Vietnamese authenticity check by Sonny. I find it crazy how high end Vietnamese restaurants make a Banh Mi cost like 10 times the price yet don't keep it authentic.
New Yorker here. Never eat Downtown unless you're trying to swing a big ding-a-ling. Go uptown to the Bronx. Still a little pricey compared to outside of the city, but this is where the working people live, so it's more affordable than the rest of the city. It's also among the more ethnically diverse boroughs, so the food is good and there's a broad range on offer. Some unique places you might wanna try: Sabrosura ( Chinese-Cuban cuisine) Grill House ( Lebanese ) Pio Pio ( Peruvian ) Arthur Avenue ( Bronx's Little Italy ) 188 Cuchifritos ( Puerto Rican Soul Food ) Sea Jasmines ( Jamaican / West Indian ) Nana's Kitchen ( Albanian )
No one ever comes to NYC and ever goes to Bronx wtf are you talking about… That is true NYC experience. Now you have Queens with Indian, Nepali, Thai, Mexican, Italian and Brooklyn with everything. Manhattan has some awesome areas also to get ethnic food. I lived in NY all my life and never went to Bronx for food or anything ahahaha last time I was in the Bronx there guy running with baseball bat attacking a car ahahaha Don’t give tourist wrong info NYC has excellent areas like west 4th street where you grab a Kati roll, cafe Reggio where you grab some awesome Italian food and snacks and amazing hand crafted cappuccino, expressos there tons good places in Manhattan

Queens yea it’s happening, Brooklyn is happening etc. Telling tourists or people to go Bronx for food is wow. Bronx zoo yea that’s good and Yankee stadium

Having traveled to New York, Bryan Park. winter market was one of my favorites. The no chewing allowed chocolate stand, and the Brazilians with the cheese wheels where they toast the cheese wheel straight onto a baguette bun life.changing good. Come down to Key West!
@@sel9053 oh I’m not at all well atm in general, was in hospital 9 times last year (including my birthday, that was grim) due to an ongoing illness, it causes seizures so that’s what happened at the start of the week, ambulance only just made it to hospital in time. They have me hooked up to things now to try and boost my levels and extend the time before another one happens and hopefully I’ll be out of here before too long. Watching BEFRS and Mike Chen have helped get me through :) Ty very much for asking, that was kind, take care! 🤗
