T1 subs are awesome, they carry all the way to endgame when you have to keep control of the seas. You just cant really spam anything as fast with as high DPS and with as much utility without being vulnerable to ships. Their only weakness is torpedo air, but even then you can easily defend them with a handful of cheap anti air ships.
A competent navy player will have enough destroyers to eat subs for breakfast, they would be more for sneaking into a base to ruin it

Great cast. I remember when this map was released and sea usually played on the beach. I came back to it after a while and found out it wasn't the meta.
I do much prefer playing sea on the beach, you have more mex in total and I usually throw air some from the sea. Not sure why the meta changed!

The "air" spot has 2 more mexxes. For the sweaty lobbies its always this way, since air doesn´t need all the metal.
Do naval mines have a role in the game? or are they just useless? I notice a lot of the time, the losing sea player REALIZES he is losing long before he actually does, and there seems to be a lot of panic building useless units, like trying to build a single 1k metal t2 torpeo launcher, when that thing gets crushed by a pair of destroyers.
Are people just too good at avoiding mines? It seems like that would be a very relevant stalling tactic, to stave off say, red and hot pink in this game.
mines are nice but everyone forgets to queue a billion of them. The trick is to queue a bunch, then rally the minelayer behind them, then turn on repeat. Any mines that blow up will automatically be rebuilt
