At 58:18 you can clearly see that one nuke hit the mountain top, and the second one hit the back of yellow's base. I think they would have both hit the mountain, but the first one deformed the terrain. Therefore, the AN didn't fire, as it was out of its range(?)
Maybe it is the z height of the mountain. If anti nuke is a dome and the mountain is near the edge of the circle, the top might be outside them dome. but the yellow line might just be a circle that doesn't interact with z height. It depends on how it is programed.
Brightworks cracked the code for making longer videos without needing more work hahaha. That nuke was hella weird, it's a shame to lose a game because of it. Both sides were playing well!
i have had this happen to me, I believe it had something to do with the position of the mountain as if a nuke is going to hit an obstruction I don't think the anti fires however the first nuke may have destroyed the terrain allowing the 2nd nuke to pass
The thing is, the first nuke should not have hit either, since it was in the ANTI's range and gotten intercepted. Basically any nukes towards that back should have been ANTI-ed, mountain hit or not, since that mountain was well within the ANTI range.
It might be worth making another video just about this weird nuke moment and sending this to the devs to be able to find this glitch. I would hate to lose a match after an hour long battle due to something like that !
i reported it to the devs right after the game and it was fixed within an hour, and then i sent it to brightworks for him to milk it for content! it was so depressing, istill think i would have won that game...
What an ending! But also, what a shame, Marine345 gave up navy way too early, after failing to pivot or respond in any meaningful way. Then when he had the lab ready to make tumbleweeds back at ToxicTaco, didnt do it and instead cornered himself on the island and proceeded to do virtually nothing until he died. He could have been super helpful to his team, but for whatever reason his mental crumbled and his team with it.
It's gotta be terrain-related, as pointed out by a few commenters. I can confirm that neither Arm nor Core nuke silos can Attack or Set Target on individual friendly or enemy aircraft units.
wait so I think the nukes were aiming at the mountain, but the mountain was terraformed by the first impacts and the last nukes went throught the crater. If thats the case then that was beyond crazy :DD
I'm wondering if the mountain actually blocks the anti nuke fields of view. So when they aimed at the mountain it didn't trigger the anti nuke because the mountain itself maybe counted as an obstruction to the fields. It also hit right where the fields all connected too.
Then never play us the AI players to fill the roster of a game. The AI-players, especially the Barbarian-AI is one piece of absolute garbage. My theory is the nukes were targeting a moving bomber on the south sea. But with how the game does predictive firing (leading the target), the nukes ended up "leading" the bomber movement... right into the south team's backline. Anti-nukes didn't trigger because they are probably coded to only fire when a nuke is "targeted" within their range. Technically, those nukes were targeting outside anti-nuke range at the bombers, so anti-nukes won't do anything. In order to pull this bug off, you need to target a REALLY fast moving enemy unit that is moving towards the enemy bases, but outside of antinuke range.
This is also my theory, but right now you cannot target units or even buildings with nuke (either with attack or set target). Only ground Maybe it was just patched
Maybe... The nuke missile was occluded by the mountains at the exact moment when the anti-nuke designated to destroy it was blinded by the obstacles. It did not shoot because units in BAR do not shoot what they can not see, also each nuke missile will be intercepted by a only single anti. The system probably considers that blind anti-nuke operational so it does not launch a backup anti-nuke.
Capital ships are fine IF you build it just to immediately go kill someone's eco. Not worth to just sit around and shell enemy units, that's a waste of time. That's the one exception where it's better because amphib army can't always immediately get to eco. But otherwise, definitely not something to overinvest in.
Now I am wondering if the nukes were targeted behind the base where there was no AN and it hit the mountain by accident before it could get to its destination. You really should have done a better job tracking those nukes back to their silos to see what they targeted.
That's the thing! I rewatched it off camera a few times and they didn't target anything! The targeting reticle just disappeared and the nukes launched into the backline! It's so bizarre!!!
I love watching these videos and would love to try this game, but good grief every time I watch one the lobby is just going off crying over every little thing like a league of legends lobby. Is it typically this whiny and toxic in most BAR lobbies?
BAR frankly impressed me with the overall chill community but it'd be dishonest not to admit that toxicity has become a growing concern as the community grows. I don't know that any game is immune to some toxic members but the best I can do is try and showcase good games and let toxic people tell on themselves :)
So i dont own the game but it could be that if those 2 nukes where targeting the plane and maybe the plane got destroyed. the system then auto retargeted them somehow and that caused the anti nukes to not target the nukes?
@@Slyzor1 the radius might have been in range but the height might have made it not really in range IE it was on the edge of the circle but the height made it out of range so when 1 nuke hit the tip and removed it the second one went thru to hit the base.
