- Here's how I refresh my hair in-between wash days! I only and always use $1-2 co-wash products to do so. Like, Comment, Share, & Subscribe!
This Co-Wash routine is suitable for just about any hair type/length but my hair specifically is:
fine, #type4hair and bra strap length. I do not know my porosity level (so I just consider it to be normal porosity). I have med-dense hair.
How often to Co-wash?
If you have shorter length hair (twa or shorter than shoulder length), you may be able to co-wash 1-2x within the week. If you have med- length hair (shoulder to armpit length), 1 co-wash within the week will be just enough. For long hair (bra strap and longer), you may alternate every other wash day with a co-wash day (which means your hair is under running water like this no more than once a week). The longer your hair gets, the less you will want to manipulate it (to best avoid unnecessary breakage/split ends and to retain length).
TRANSITIONING HAIR:
#Washdays are easier if you, MANAGE your hair IN SECTIONS.
#DETANGLE your hair UNDER RUNNING SHOWER WATER. (the water will pull your hair down and cause the demarcation between roots and ends to disappear while you detangle).
AIR DRY COMPLETELY in STRETCHED braided plaits. (this will decrease the difference between shrunken/puffy roots and straight ends, making it easier to manage when its time to style.)

A lot of people ask me about my daily moisturizing routine...I don’t have one. If I need to refresh, I co-wash.
What are the refresh/moisturizing methods you follow inbetween wash days?
Ty'Jalayah Robertson same as you. I get dollar store brands. Salon select is a good product as well at the Dollar Tree. They have different type of conditioners. Thank you.
Blessed Thank you! I will
Have to try that one too ❤️
Hi I watche dyour videos some of them helped with certqin methods but i did my big chop in july of 2018 I need help it might sound weird but. Y hair is still luke short but like ear length shrinkage but i want my hair to continurle to grow asit has but for it to be healthy moisturized at the moment i dont really have that much products inusually use shampoo and condition. And u se a cream but how often should I wash or deep condition without really have as much products and to not always be in my hair hope you can help
Girlllll... your hair grew overnight!! 🇹🇹👏😇
“Wash my a- BODY” you funny for that one lmaooo
Pink Link 😭 I had to go back and watch to see hahaha lol thank you💕💕
I use the Aussie moist conditioner and I also detangle under running water 🚿 use a leave in and seal with hair grease. Keeps my hair so moisturized for days. 😊
How often do you do that? And when do u shampoo & deep condition?
Vanessa Williams I shampoo and deep condition every 2-3 weeks but in between those washes I may do a cowash just to refresh, add some moisture into my hair.
@@victorianix7679 sounds good. Ima start doing that in the summer
I too like Dollar Tree conditioners for co-washing. My favorite is V05.
Same!! I’ve always loved then❤️❤️ and they’ve never done me wrong lol
what is V05 ?
It’s a brand of shampoo & conditioner
THAT SHRINKAGE 💁🏾♀️☀️ your hair is very healthy
Thank you! ❤️😄
watching this was soooo soothing😌 & it was quick & simple
_ iam4god Awww Thank you ☺️💕
I like the running water detangle method, gonna try that thanks!
You’re welcome!! 😄 I first ran into it when I realized it helped to hold my transitioning hair pretty straight while I detangled (instead of my roots bouncing back up) and I haven’t ditched the practice ever since lol hopefully you’ll love it just as much! It should definitely help out with detangling stubborn knots too💕
You give very personable, refreshing and informative videos. I especially like how you're "forthcoming" about the hair shedding. If my hair didn't shed, it wouldn't grow as much. Btw, your hair is beautiful and so are you young lady.
This is what I do to refresh my wash n gos 🤗 I love it cuz it only takes me 45 minutes start to finish.
I plop overnight and finish drying in the morning.
Right! ☺️ It’s so quick, saves me a lot of time
Mayla Rubenbauer
Yep. Same products
Edit: btw I rake in my products, I don’t shingle. It takes me 20-30 min to detangle. 10-15 min to set my curls.
Notification squad😘 I was just telling my co-worker about your UA-cam channel I told her to watch your videos and then boom look you posted a video wow
Awww thank you so much!!💕💕 you are a blessing, I hope she will be able to find the videos helpful 🙏🏾
@@TyJalayahRobertson yes she will 🙏
Thank you for sharing. I'm learning from you.
Awww yay!☺️ You’re so welcome, thank you💕
And the tip about when hair strands knot up, don't pull apart, but pull upward. That was great!
I love your video. 😍👏🏽
Thank you!💕☺️
I am going to try the co-wash method!
I love your smile!
Thank you!! ☺️ I hope you’ll like this method too, it’s super convenient when there’s not enough time to do a full wash.
Yessss I love it!!🥰💃🏾🙋🏾♀️
😄 thank you!💕💕
I came because $1
😂💕 these $1 conditioners are literally my staple!
Love the video. 💛💛
Thank you!!😄
Wow I uses the conditioner and just detangle under the water
I loved winco😩😩😩 They didn’t follow me back to the east coast though😔
Lol awww hahaha I go to winco all the time too! do they have these at a Walmart or Target maybe?
Suave didn’t work for me but Pantene did but it’s soo expensive 🥺
I could’ve swore that yesterday her hair wasn’t even past her ears😞❤️
😂 I could’ve swore too lol sometimes my shrinkage makes me forget the actual length❤️❤️
Ty'Jalayah Robertson thanks for replying 😊
💕💕 No problem! thank you for watching my videos!
You are so gorgeous its crazy❤
I often get single strand knots :/ unsure of how to fix this
bukky subulade it comes with the natural hair territory because our hair shrinks up on itself but usually it can be better managed (or limited) by wearing protective styles of stretched styles that keep the hair from coiling all the way up and around itself
Do your shower get stopped up with hair?
Yes 🤦🏾♀️ it does, it can be so frustrating sometimes lol
I so admire Ty's honesty! Good quality you have. 😊
I know mine does! I use tweezers to pull the hair out🤷🏽♀️😂
Do you style your hair the same day? Or do you do your wash day separate l?
If I style on wet hair, I style on the same day. If I want to style on dry hair, I style the next day when my 4 braids have dried.
Okay, so after you putt your hair in 4 braids, do you let it air dry and then style it the following day???
Yes, if I style want to wear a dry, stretched style. No, if I want to style wet (so I’ll go straight into styling following).
You didn't show the final after refresh?!?!?!?@ty' jalayah robertson
?? I did...
@@TyJalayahRobertson nope 4:43 final refresh look.
Lashawna Brady Ooh you mean how I styled it after refreshing it. For this video I just wanted to focus on the refresh method but you can see some of my style videos which will show how I would usually style it after a wash or co-wash❤️
I thought co-wash awasn't good for low porosity hair
I did it. It felt great; until i got lazy
Follow the methods that work for your hair specifically❤️
When in doubt, experiment. They said you shouldn’t use rinse out conditioners to co wash either. But I prefer Tresemme over pricey cleansing conditioners because it detangles better and cost less. As long as it doesn’t have silicone and I clarify on the weekends, I’m good.
I love your videos! I could watch you do almost anything to your hair and love it! Just bought some suave today so I may try this. Doing a full wash day every week is burning me out, this may be a nice mix for me!
Thanks for another great video!🖤
Thank you so much!!💕💕 and lemme know how you like it, these co-wash days be saving my life 😂so hopefully you’ll love the regimen adjustment also, it definitely takes a load off from the full wash days.
