I really do hope that Capcom continues these smaller budget RE titles in the future, I think they're very fun and they would be a great appetizer until the next mainline title comes along.

Supposedly RE:Village started out as Rev 3 then was upgraded to RE8 for some reason. What was supposed to be the original RE8 is now becoming Rev 3 ironically and is apparently more of a horror title compared to Village according to the Capcom hack.
I played the first Revelations game on the 3DS, and I absolutely loved it. It's the same kind of dynamics. Even with an additional character present, I was still shit-scared most of the time! Loved the characters, the voice acting, the cinematic re-caps and cutscenes... Such a fun game.
Resident Evil is one of the best video game series out there and one of the granddaddies of survival horror, but you got to give it up to series like dead space, silent Hill, and The Evil within, just to name a few.

In my opinion, Barry and Natalia's story made this game alongside the legitimate character development his daughter goes through. Seeing Claire back was also a plus. The game is really good, at least in my opinion. It's also pretty cheap to get a completed edition with all the dlc (probably 20 dollars at most) so I recommend giving it a playthrough
i HIGHLY recommend this game my dude, the story is great and really is nice to play as Barry for once, also the Raid Mode is great but can get long, just play that a bit at a time.

According to leaks, RE Revelations was expected to come out in 2021 or 2022, and now there is ZERO news on it...so this does add credence to the rumor.
I'd heard something similar to this. Revelations 3 was going to be another chapter game, and each chapter was going to be focused around a different gothic horror "villain" ... Vampires, Frankensteinian monsters, werewolves, etc.
My first RE was Revelations 1. Great Game imo. Had more fun playing it than 2. The setting on a abandoned Cruise ship is just perfect, the story is fine, it has it‘s fair little segments of horror and suspense. And I enjoyed the different characters

I played through this for the first time a couple of months ago, and was surprised at how good it was. Moira was irritating as a character, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and all the cheesy callbacks. The gameplay itself is very similar to the Evil Within games
Am disappointed with Drinker's reaction of Kafka as unlike the Divine Comedy stuff in Rev 1, Kafka, especially Metamorphosis, is thematically relevant to this story. Fear is very much a plot device as the Overseer is trying to find out who CAN'T feel fear to jump into a new body and it's her own personal fear that transforms her into a literal monster.
it's less the quotes and more the way it's bludgeoned into you. Subtly weaving references into the game is preferable as opposed to "LOOK KAFKA LOOOOKKKKKK WE'RE SOPHISTICATED LOOOOKK"
So far even the newer Resident evil games have not pandered to any western social media bullshit. They still star real characters, be it sometimes over the top but they are not check box diversity people. They didn't force Ethan in RE7 into a mix race marriage because "representation" or have him out to be a beta cuck in RE8 needing to be saved by a strong woman. They didn't make Chris in RE8 suddenly gay or into weird fetishes or some poor absent dad. Even in Revelations 2, Barry's backstory being a parents makes sense and Moria's progression and personality also makes sense giving her past. Claire isn't some shill for vegan climate change shit or sticking it to the patriarchy. She's a working woman focused on a job.

Saying Alex Wesker falls victim to "Marvelitis" kind of made me chuckle. I remember they had that document talking about her in RE5 and how much smarter and tougher and better Alex was than Albert and all I could think back then was "Capcom, it never works when Marvel and DC try to tell, rather than show, that the new villain is 'better' than the classic one they just killed, why the heck would you think it'd be any different?" *Edit: I think at the time, Marvel had just killed Sabertooth in favor of a new, "tougher" archnemesis for Wolverine so it was kind of a fresh annoyance.
I really loved playing RE5 in coop. It's so goofy and ridiculous, it was just a blast. And then we played RE6.... Which is "the" most ridiculous, nonsensical thing we've ever played. We spent so much time laughing at every aspect. If you play it with a good friend as a comedy, 5 and 6 are easily two of the best games we've ever played.
Despite the flak that it got, re5 was enjoyable. Me and a good buddy of mine loaded up on booze and just played the shit outta that game. I wouldn't call re5 a great game, but with a consistent partner to play with makes the game the definition of good wild fun.
i think i stopped playing resi after code:Veronica as i just didnt like the emphasis on action that the series went hard into. so these are a nice comfortable throwback to the early days. gotta say though after seeing what happened with "welcome to racoon city" and seeing the various iterations of claire in your vid all i can think of is WHY the hell hasnt anyone tapped karen gillen to play claire redfield? she'd be the perfect blend of gorgeous and kick ass as her role as nebula has shown. hell she'd still be able to pull off the college student days.
This was a great game. But, besides Claire's face, they really botched her personality - particularly in the scene when they first meet Natalia, and Claire starts giving Natalia the rapid-fire 3rd-degree questions, scaring the child. But as we know, Claire's draw with children, her protective maternal side, was always a feature of her character, going back to RE2 with Sherry. And here, Claire is scary to children - they get her character in that regard 180° wrong.
I really enjoyed Revelations 2. Played through it a second time in coop with my brother and after that,.. well.... RAID MODE! Seriously, I put at least 80+ hours into raid mode alone, lol I also like the collectibles the game has to offer and it has different endings.
Does the Drinker have a favorite fantasy book series? I love the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher but also more traditional fantasy series like the Dragonlance series.
Revelation 3 is coming with Rebecca Chambers as main character. Coming on exclusively on Nintendo Switch first then released on all other consoles later
It has been years since I played Revelations 2 and I got to say that when Barry became a playable character I was ready to go kick some zombie ass with his wheel cannon(his oldest and most reliable friend). Because when in doubt you can court on Barry and his love of guns.
The Revelation games passed me by. I was aware of them, but wasn't too fussed by them. But after this review/retrospective, I'm definitely gonna have to check 'em out 👍
I loved Revelations 2. I bought it as it released episodically and until 7 came out I had been hoping that the series would continue more with the personality and pacing of RE:REV 2
I enjoyed both Revelations titles - I really don't care for Village tbh. IMO Revelations was better than 2 but it was awesome playing Barry. The Raid mode in Revelations 2 is what kept me coming back though. I'd strongly advise you check out Tormented Souls, excellent game, a touch on the easy side but a true modern Survival Horror classic IMHO.
I really enjoyed the RE: Revelations games. It disappointd me they haven't carried on the series and I was kinda bummed 2 didn't follow on from the spy story with Raymond and Jessica. Though a side note on the graphics, the first game started on the 3DS and was ported to PS3, Xbox etc and though RE: Rev 2 had a simultaneous release with other platforms it still released on handhelds like the Vita. So I don't think they were built with what was current gen home console hardware in mind.
I started off with good old re1 on the Sega Saturn, damn I'm old. I loved re1 and 2 and feel they should've stopped there. Now there are imo just too many of em and a long over drawn story that kinda ruins the mystery or the the first two. It's just the same old thing just rinse and repeat. After playing and really enjoying the first games remake on GameCube, yea I'm old lol. I was hoping the remake of 2 was going to be just as good but it was way too much action. I feel the spirit of resident evil has died and unlike the zombies it won't come back. Hell opinions are like assholes everyone got em and I'm just a dumb old man that misses the good old days of gaming. Too many flashy graphics and little to no stories anymore.
Glad to see you doing another lesser known RE game. Hope Capcom does more of these, to better give us chances to see some older characters who don't really get any time to shine.
I would much rather have this series than the incredibly stupid (even by RE standards) Ethan games. RE8 is just so over the top absurd, I can't take a moment of it seriously.
@@Reidbynature Don't get me wrong, RE8 was quite fun to play. You just need to turn off your brain completely so that you can ignore the retarded story. RE8 to me was basically an arena where you fight enemies, kind of like a Mercenaries mode. And, once more, there was no horror to be found anywhere (yes, not even the dollmaker's house), at least Revelations games were scary to some extent, especially the first one.

Not to pull an "acckkkksshhhually" but Alex Wesker and her labs were mentioned by name in Resident Evil 5s DLC. So she's less of a retcon and more of a quietly mentioned character. It surprised me too going back through RE5 after beating Rev 1 and 2 earlier.
There was RE1 and RE2, and a lot of people agree those are two very solid entries and then RE3 was very flawed, hampered by concepts that didn't work and were never revisited (the dodge function). I think it was bad enough to make the company re-think things for RE4 and I will definitely say a lot of the new ideas worked. Now the zombies are aliens? F*ck me when their heads explode because now they're even worse and more dangerous.
I loved Revelations 1, but probably because I thought the ship was a more interesting setting. It was cool to have a Claire-centric game again, though for RE:R2
I love almost all Resident Evil games. Resident Evil 6 is one of the best in the franchise because i fell in love with all the character in RE. Playing as Leon, Chris, Jake, Ada Wong n how they included all campaign style like RE4, RE5, RE3 in to those 4 campaign mode is unbelievable. I truly love RE6
I just hate how out of character Claire is when her and Moira find Natalia. Not only does she come off as being someone who isn't good with kids, which is bullshit if you've played any version of RE2, for some reason Claire is being a simp and she's more worried about Neil, a trained military operative, than Natalia when she disappears. I haven't touched the game since it launched 5-6 years ago because of this and I only put time into the raid mode after that (which is really fun). I actually played the campaign again recently in October before this review and, yeah, I still hate how poorly written Claire is. It's like Capcom didn't even know their own iconic character. Thankfully the others are much more well written. It's more Barry and Moira's story anyway with Natalia being the one that brings them together again and Claire is kinda just along for the ride. Other than that personal gripe of mine and Alex Wesker being an boring, forgettable antagonist, RE:R2 is a pretty good game.
While it had some decent ideas, Revelations 2 was ultimately a disappointment. Sure, there's a little bit of exploration and key hunting, but it feels more like The Last of Us or The Evil Within than Resident Evil. It's also more linear and more focused on action than the first Revelations, and the single player coop gimmick never really gets off the ground. Can't say I'm a fan of the grimy Saw-like locales either.
RER2 was when Capcom remembered Barry Burton was a canon surviving character from RE1. Only for them to forget he existed again. I also love that in Welcome To Raccoon City they completely omitted him in a movie retelling the plot of RE1 because if they had of included the character he would have been the an inept bumbling oaf that was the the squad's comic relief whipping boy. Also RER2 is great, I am still actively playing RAID mode on PS4, even if it isn't as good as RER1's RAID.
I finished both Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 several times. The best REs with modern graphics. It was pure pleasure and I wish they would make more of RE like that. Even though I prefered RE Rev1 because you play as Jill Valentine and she's awesome character.

I loved both the Revelation series. Played them both through entirely and had a blast in co-op with this one. The negatives don't even begin to drag it down for me. The raid mode was fun in both games too. I played the hell out of Revelation 1 raid mode on 3DS.
For me, this is the best sideline RE game in the series. It has a perfect balance between action, horror, and puzzle. I think this is the only RE game I finished four times.
In my opinion this is still the best mix of different RE play styles. I kind of wish the RE2 and 3 remakes played a bit more like this one. Might have to reinstall it for another play through!

I really enjoyed Revelations 2 when it came out, much more than Revelations 1. I hope they keep to the Resident Evil roots for Revelations 3 when its released.
Revelations 1 was ok but could have been a lot better if it took itself a little bit seriously. Rev 2 had great atmosphere but overall was pretty average. Claire looks awful in Revelations 2, that's where she got her generic outfit with the red jacket which is now her definitive look for some reason and don't get me started on Moira, hated her character.
Afai can remember there is a skill, where A.I. controlled Claire and Barry got unlimited ammo, but reduced damage. This works very well with Barry, since his Revolver is still potent, even when only causing 1/10 of the usual damage. Strong enough to expose of regular enemies reliably, thus saving a lot of ammo.
Ive had this game in my library for YEARS and ive never played it. But after playing Zero recently I wanted another slow Resi game. Thanks for the reccomendation drinker
This is one of my favorites in the series. Only on low budget, it still manage to be a great Resident Evil. Achieved platinum on the PS3 and about to do it on PS4.
i played the first revelations and it was meh. i had a blast playing thru the 2nd game multiple times until i got the katana for Moria. Alot of people i know never played this game and its kinda a shame because its a pretty charming addition to the RE series

About 2 years ago when I discovered this channel I had only played “RE 7”. Because of the Drinker’s retrospective, I we t back and played “RE 4”, “RE Remake”, and now I’m playing through “RE 2: Remake” and became a huge fan of the series! (I had an N64 back in the ‘90s and missed out on the series when it first came out)
When the Revelations games came out, I felt it was slowly returning RE back to a more creepy slow paced survival horror and I liked how RE Rev 2 did more of this return to less super action with bolder puncher
Honestly, I’m pretty fucking pissed that Capcom hasn’t full-on developed Alex Wesker before her big Revelation. And the fact that Capcom still hasn’t resolved the fact that she •Spoilers• - now possesses the body of a Psychic Child and lives to be a future Antagonist makes me wonder if They will ever do anything with her again?! Seriously, Even though I’m glad RE7 & 8 brought some aspects of horror back to the Franchise, Capcom has also shown to be Rewinding the clock and remaking pervious games…. With a mix of good and bad results! Dear lord, RE3 was a functioning Mess, and now they plan on remaking RE4 with a darker tone and atmosphere to try and mirror how the Original Beta versions of RE4 were going to be like before they were scraped. It’s seriously fucking stupid when you think back to why they Changed it into an Action Thriller. The Campy tone was on purpose, and it fit the changed up gameplay. God, I’m more than sure that after that we’ll get a remake of RE5 & RE6…. Okay, an RE6 remake, I would fucking down for! For even though the Combat in that game has incredible control and reaction play, the story for that game is Off the Wall dumb, especially the part where Chris Redfield going Catatonic after seeing his soldiers get betrayed and changed into BOWs, and then just getting memory problems. I get PTSD is a thing, but it’s quite clear he’s use to this kind of shit. Hell, it shows in RE8 even though he honestly should’ve had More reasonable methods done instead of Brute Forcing his way into the house to shoot a Disguised Mother Meranda. Ethan and Rose should’ve been priority one from the Get Go! It’s a serious fuck up on his part and on the part of Capcom for contriving Chris into an angsty Moron. I get it’s suppose to be realistic. But even knowing all that, I still think Chris should’ve had better treatment. And WHERE THE HELL IS JILL During ALL THIS BULLSHIT?!
Well, given who we play as in 7 and 8, I'm not entirely sure Capcom cares too much about their characters. Seriously, 2 of their mainline titles star a character no one likes, and who is not going to return. Really weird decision.
I feel like Rev 2, while a superb game, had a LOT of missed opportunities. Lack of online co-op for the story mode is the most noticeable, but another one is its Raid mode. I feel like they could've expanded on the Raid mode a lot more than they did; add more maps, more enemies, etc.
Yeah they were just trying to utilize old assets from Revelations 1/RE 6 as those games had massive budgets....esp the latter being "over" with many employees getting laid off during/after that release :/

Absolutely. I own Revelations on Wii u and Switch, but still find myself going back to 3ds for the 3D and nostalgia.
Revelations 1 on 3ds put RE6 to shame at the time. Made Capcom rethink it's direction for the RE franchise.

So far even the newer Resident evil games have not pandered to any western social media bullshit. They still star real characters, be it sometimes over the top but they are not check box diversity people. They didn't force Ethan in RE7 into a mix race marriage because "representation" or have him out to be a beta cuck in RE8 needing to be saved by a strong woman. They didn't make Chris in RE8 suddenly gay or into weird fetishes or some poor absent dad. Even in Revelations 2, Barry's backstory being a parents makes sense and Moria's progression and personality also makes sense giving her past. Claire isn't some shill for vegan climate change shit or sticking it to the patriarchy. She's a working woman focused on a job.

Saying Alex Wesker falls victim to "Marvelitis" kind of made me chuckle. I remember they had that document talking about her in RE5 and how much smarter and tougher and better Alex was than Albert and all I could think back then was "Capcom, it never works when Marvel and DC try to tell, rather than show, that the new villain is 'better' than the classic one they just killed, why the heck would you think it'd be any different?"
*Edit: I think at the time, Marvel had just killed Sabertooth in favor of a new, "tougher" archnemesis for Wolverine so it was kind of a fresh annoyance.

I really loved playing RE5 in coop. It's so goofy and ridiculous, it was just a blast. And then we played RE6.... Which is "the" most ridiculous, nonsensical thing we've ever played. We spent so much time laughing at every aspect. If you play it with a good friend as a comedy, 5 and 6 are easily two of the best games we've ever played.
I thought I was the only one who loved and had a blast with RE5 😉
Despite the flak that it got, re5 was enjoyable. Me and a good buddy of mine loaded up on booze and just played the shit outta that game. I wouldn't call re5 a great game, but with a consistent partner to play with makes the game the definition of good wild fun.

i think i stopped playing resi after code:Veronica as i just didnt like the emphasis on action that the series went hard into. so these are a nice comfortable throwback to the early days.
gotta say though after seeing what happened with "welcome to racoon city" and seeing the various iterations of claire in your vid all i can think of is WHY the hell hasnt anyone tapped karen gillen to play claire redfield?
she'd be the perfect blend of gorgeous and kick ass as her role as nebula has shown. hell she'd still be able to pull off the college student days.
This was a great game. But, besides Claire's face, they really botched her personality - particularly in the scene when they first meet Natalia, and Claire starts giving Natalia the rapid-fire 3rd-degree questions, scaring the child. But as we know, Claire's draw with children, her protective maternal side, was always a feature of her character, going back to RE2 with Sherry. And here, Claire is scary to children - they get her character in that regard 180° wrong.
Barry greatly admired the Master of Unlocking but he was not a Master himself.
Revelations 3 with Jill and Claire, c'mon capcom make it happen.

Does the Drinker have a favorite fantasy book series? I love the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher but also more traditional fantasy series like the Dragonlance series.
I've recommend to him the Night Angel trilogy, by Brent weeks. It's dark fantasy. Like, really dark. It's a wild ride.

It has been years since I played Revelations 2 and I got to say that when Barry became a playable character I was ready to go kick some zombie ass with his wheel cannon(his oldest and most reliable friend). Because when in doubt you can court on Barry and his love of guns.
The Revelation games passed me by. I was aware of them, but wasn't too fussed by them.
But after this review/retrospective, I'm definitely gonna have to check 'em out 👍
If you can get them on sale they’re worth your time. Rev 1 is superior in my opinion 👍🏻
I loved Revelations 2. I bought it as it released episodically and until 7 came out I had been hoping that the series would continue more with the personality and pacing of RE:REV 2
100% one of the best Resi games.
Ideal for people who love RE4/5 (the middle entries).
I enjoyed both Revelations titles - I really don't care for Village tbh. IMO Revelations was better than 2 but it was awesome playing Barry. The Raid mode in Revelations 2 is what kept me coming back though. I'd strongly advise you check out Tormented Souls, excellent game, a touch on the easy side but a true modern Survival Horror classic IMHO.
I really enjoyed the RE: Revelations games. It disappointd me they haven't carried on the series and I was kinda bummed 2 didn't follow on from the spy story with Raymond and Jessica.
Though a side note on the graphics, the first game started on the 3DS and was ported to PS3, Xbox etc and though RE: Rev 2 had a simultaneous release with other platforms it still released on handhelds like the Vita. So I don't think they were built with what was current gen home console hardware in mind.
They stopped because Revelations 3 turned into RE Village apparently.
Revelations 2 is probably one of my favorite RE games. I honestly would have preferred a more refined version of it over the fps 7&8.
I started off with good old re1 on the Sega Saturn, damn I'm old. I loved re1 and 2 and feel they should've stopped there. Now there are imo just too many of em and a long over drawn story that kinda ruins the mystery or the the first two. It's just the same old thing just rinse and repeat. After playing and really enjoying the first games remake on GameCube, yea I'm old lol. I was hoping the remake of 2 was going to be just as good but it was way too much action. I feel the spirit of resident evil has died and unlike the zombies it won't come back. Hell opinions are like assholes everyone got em and I'm just a dumb old man that misses the good old days of gaming. Too many flashy graphics and little to no stories anymore.
Glad to see you doing another lesser known RE game. Hope Capcom does more of these, to better give us chances to see some older characters who don't really get any time to shine.
I would much rather have this series than the incredibly stupid (even by RE standards) Ethan games. RE8 is just so over the top absurd, I can't take a moment of it seriously.
I did enjoy RE8, but it did have me questioning where Capcom were going with the story and that's saying something given past RE's game narratives.
@@Reidbynature Don't get me wrong, RE8 was quite fun to play. You just need to turn off your brain completely so that you can ignore the retarded story. RE8 to me was basically an arena where you fight enemies, kind of like a Mercenaries mode. And, once more, there was no horror to be found anywhere (yes, not even the dollmaker's house), at least Revelations games were scary to some extent, especially the first one.

Not to pull an "acckkkksshhhually" but Alex Wesker and her labs were mentioned by name in Resident Evil 5s DLC. So she's less of a retcon and more of a quietly mentioned character. It surprised me too going back through RE5 after beating Rev 1 and 2 earlier.

There was RE1 and RE2, and a lot of people agree those are two very solid entries and then RE3 was very flawed, hampered by concepts that didn't work and were never revisited (the dodge function). I think it was bad enough to make the company re-think things for RE4 and I will definitely say a lot of the new ideas worked. Now the zombies are aliens? F*ck me when their heads explode because now they're even worse and more dangerous.

I loved Revelations 1, but probably because I thought the ship was a more interesting setting. It was cool to have a Claire-centric game again, though for RE:R2
I love almost all Resident Evil games. Resident Evil 6 is one of the best in the franchise because i fell in love with all the character in RE. Playing as Leon, Chris, Jake, Ada Wong n how they included all campaign style like RE4, RE5, RE3 in to those 4 campaign mode is unbelievable.

I just hate how out of character Claire is when her and Moira find Natalia. Not only does she come off as being someone who isn't good with kids, which is bullshit if you've played any version of RE2, for some reason Claire is being a simp and she's more worried about Neil, a trained military operative, than Natalia when she disappears. I haven't touched the game since it launched 5-6 years ago because of this and I only put time into the raid mode after that (which is really fun). I actually played the campaign again recently in October before this review and, yeah, I still hate how poorly written Claire is. It's like Capcom didn't even know their own iconic character. Thankfully the others are much more well written. It's more Barry and Moira's story anyway with Natalia being the one that brings them together again and Claire is kinda just along for the ride. Other than that personal gripe of mine and Alex Wesker being an boring, forgettable antagonist, RE:R2 is a pretty good game.
You might wanna do Gun Survivor next year, because fans are remaking the game to play like a traditional PS1 RE game.
While it had some decent ideas, Revelations 2 was ultimately a disappointment. Sure, there's a little bit of exploration and key hunting, but it feels more like The Last of Us or The Evil Within than Resident Evil. It's also more linear and more focused on action than the first Revelations, and the single player coop gimmick never really gets off the ground. Can't say I'm a fan of the grimy Saw-like locales either.
RER2 was when Capcom remembered Barry Burton was a canon surviving character from RE1. Only for them to forget he existed again. I also love that in Welcome To Raccoon City they completely omitted him in a movie retelling the plot of RE1 because if they had of included the character he would have been the an inept bumbling oaf that was the the squad's comic relief whipping boy.
Also RER2 is great, I am still actively playing RAID mode on PS4, even if it isn't as good as RER1's RAID.
I finished both Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 several times. The best REs with modern graphics. It was pure pleasure and I wish they would make more of RE like that. Even though I prefered RE Rev1 because you play as Jill Valentine and she's awesome character.
Stopped paying attention to RE after they turned Albert Wesker into a dumb cliché villain. The games became too dumb story wise.

I loved both the Revelation series. Played them both through entirely and had a blast in co-op with this one. The negatives don't even begin to drag it down for me.
The raid mode was fun in both games too. I played the hell out of Revelation 1 raid mode on 3DS.

For me, this is the best sideline RE game in the series. It has a perfect balance between action, horror, and puzzle.
I think this is the only RE game I finished four times.
In my opinion this is still the best mix of different RE play styles. I kind of wish the RE2 and 3 remakes played a bit more like this one. Might have to reinstall it for another play through!
I liked this game, however my biggest gripe is the huge character assassination Claire suffered in this story!

I really enjoyed Revelations 2 when it came out, much more than Revelations 1. I hope they keep to the Resident Evil roots for Revelations 3 when its released.
Revelations 1 was ok but could have been a lot better if it took itself a little bit seriously. Rev 2 had great atmosphere but overall was pretty average. Claire looks awful in Revelations 2, that's where she got her generic outfit with the red jacket which is now her definitive look for some reason and don't get me started on Moira, hated her character.
Its very powerful, especially against living things.
Afai can remember there is a skill, where A.I. controlled Claire and Barry got unlimited ammo, but reduced damage. This works very well with Barry, since his Revolver is still potent, even when only causing 1/10 of the usual damage. Strong enough to expose of regular enemies reliably, thus saving a lot of ammo.
Ive had this game in my library for YEARS and ive never played it. But after playing Zero recently I wanted another slow Resi game. Thanks for the reccomendation drinker

This is one of my favorites in the series. Only on low budget, it still manage to be a great Resident Evil. Achieved platinum on the PS3 and about to do it on PS4.

i played the first revelations and it was meh. i had a blast playing thru the 2nd game multiple times until i got the katana for Moria. Alot of people i know never played this game and its kinda a shame because its a pretty charming addition to the RE series

About 2 years ago when I discovered this channel I had only played “RE 7”. Because of the Drinker’s retrospective, I we t back and played “RE 4”, “RE Remake”, and now I’m playing through “RE 2: Remake” and became a huge fan of the series! (I had an N64 back in the ‘90s and missed out on the series when it first came out)
Revlations 3 was announced for Switch two year ago but no new news since.
I've spent over 100 hours on the raid mode alone, worth it by itself IMO and the main reason why I'm hyped for reveleations 3.
When the Revelations games came out, I felt it was slowly returning RE back to a more creepy slow paced survival horror and I liked how RE Rev 2 did more of this return to less super action with bolder puncher

Dear lord, RE3 was a functioning Mess, and now they plan on remaking RE4 with a darker tone and atmosphere to try and mirror how the Original Beta versions of RE4 were going to be like before they were scraped. It’s seriously fucking stupid when you think back to why they Changed it into an Action Thriller. The Campy tone was on purpose, and it fit the changed up gameplay.
God, I’m more than sure that after that we’ll get a remake of RE5 & RE6…. Okay, an RE6 remake, I would fucking down for!
For even though the Combat in that game has incredible control and reaction play, the story for that game is Off the Wall dumb, especially the part where Chris Redfield going Catatonic after seeing his soldiers get betrayed and changed into BOWs, and then just getting memory problems. I get PTSD is a thing, but it’s quite clear he’s use to this kind of shit. Hell, it shows in RE8 even though he honestly should’ve had More reasonable methods done instead of Brute Forcing his way into the house to shoot a Disguised Mother Meranda. Ethan and Rose should’ve been priority one from the Get Go! It’s a serious fuck up on his part and on the part of Capcom for contriving Chris into an angsty Moron. I get it’s suppose to be realistic. But even knowing all that, I still think Chris should’ve had better treatment. And WHERE THE HELL IS JILL During ALL THIS BULLSHIT?!
Well, given who we play as in 7 and 8, I'm not entirely sure Capcom cares too much about their characters. Seriously, 2 of their mainline titles star a character no one likes, and who is not going to return. Really weird decision.

I feel like Rev 2, while a superb game, had a LOT of missed opportunities. Lack of online co-op for the story mode is the most noticeable, but another one is its Raid mode. I feel like they could've expanded on the Raid mode a lot more than they did; add more maps, more enemies, etc.
Yeah they were just trying to utilize old assets from Revelations 1/RE 6 as those games had massive budgets....esp the latter being "over" with many employees getting laid off during/after that release :/
