Thank you for the excellent tutorial, it was a great help.
Over all, after spending significant time cleaning surface corrosion from the face of the intake, the entire installation took me about 4 hrs and was pretty aggravating at times because of some crusty bolts and uncooperative brittle wire connectors. (I live in the Northeast rust belt).
If you happen to have big hands like I do, one tip I can offer is to remove the left side radiator fan and antifreeze reservoir bottle to make more room for when you have to fumble with the lower plenum bolt and bracket. At one point during reassembly, I dropped one of the bolts somewhere deep into the engine compartment, never to be seen again . Luckily, I spotted an identical bolt used to fasten the battery tray bottom, so I used that one to re-attach the wire harness bracket to the plenum. I located an alternate fastener for the battery tray from my bucket of orphaned nuts and bolts.
The two starter bolts gave me major resistance, but they were no match some PB Blaster and a 2 foot long cheater pipe on the ratchet handle.
The job was no fun at all, but I have to say that despite a sore lower back, and some cuts on my knuckles, I felt pretty darn good after turning that key and hearing how it starts and sounds like it did when it was brand new.
One last tip for the radio reset if you don't already have your code, there should be a white sticker bearing a five or six digit number on the outer left side panel of your opened glove compartment door.
Turn the radio power on then enter your number when prompted on the display. You should have tunes now..

Man, I’ve done this and vehicle still won’t start and makes no noise when turning the key to ignition. I’m overly frustrated and I’m sure it’s my own damn fault

Can you provide some more details? What was your vehicle doing before you replaced the starter? Did you make sure all connections to the starter are secure? You may need to go back and check them, unfortunately.

I followed this video step for step and it after putting the new starter in the car wouldn’t start so now I’m gonna have to find a mechanic…I’ll just pay someone next time 😔

Well, either a wire isn't connected or there is something else wrong with your car. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Jesus, all that for a starter?

Yep, not as easy or accessible as most cars.

@@TrickShiftGarage NO IT'S NOT!!! 😂🤣🤣 And the starter just crapped out on my sister's Accord so this video is going to be invaluable. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm not rich either so I have to figure it out. Thanks bro! I wouldn't have even found the thing without this video 😂😂😂

Maybe take HALF a second to point out what manifold bolts are being removed. You hacked thru the sped up footage and I cant for the life of me tell what it is I have to remove. Decent tutorial otherwise..

There is a longer video on this channel for the starter removal and install. If you take a HALF of a second to look for it, I'm sure you can find it.
Don't forget, I didn't have to make this video. The amount of work put in (camera angles, lighting, etc.) is not as easy as you think. Also, editing takes a bunch of my time. I work full time, UA-cam is just a hobby.
If this video isn't to your liking, you can find one that works for you.

We aren't going to be perfect with every video. We try to take time out of our busy lives to show you how we replace parts or do routine maintenance, and we do this to help you all save money.
We are just trying to help other people.

@@TrickShiftGarage As someone in production out here in LA, thank you for taking the time to do this, your tutorials are clear, camera angles are steady and under good light, and voice and direction are clear and direct. These people and these comments aren't worth your time. Keep up the good work! I've been driving, a Tesla, and other PHEVs since 2014. My buddy gifted me his 2012 Accord after ditching Cali. I am enjoying fixing it, and your tutorials are helping.
