The world needs more bare handed, Master Mechanics like Mr. Curzon....too many lame 'technicians' nowadays afraid of getting their hands dirty or heaven forbid, busting a knuckle.
due to the chemicals used in todays automotive field, it would be wise to protect you and your family.. I used to work on cars bare handed until the ladies quit letting me put my fingers in them..;)
Axel you are proper old school, no rubber gloves, no socket wrench, no clean floors and no clean overalls, I love your style, atb and keep them coming.
+scully If you have the expertise, space and equipment to hand, you can run one on a tight budget. But if you are lacking in any one of those areas, you need to get the right place to maintain the car for you, and they can be very costly to run. Next generation (Spirit / Spur / Turbo R etc) are very similar cars under the skin, and similarly expensive to run. I just had the brakes overhauled on my car (Continental R) at a cost of just under £3000 - there was quite a lot of work (much more than just pads and disks) but it does illustrate how the cost can rack up.
Thank you Are these cars terrible when it comes to maintenance and repair ? Looking at one 89 with 50k for bridal service , please give me some advice . Are you in the US ?
88 and 89 are the best modern cars they ever built. From 90 on they get more and more complicated. If your handy you can do the work yourself. I actually have an 89 for sale!
Yes You buy a kit includes 8 piston seal, 8 Dustcover's and four nipple caps Rusty pistons buy new ones Do You need part no for this? Today You buy parts from Bentley Do not split without having the small o-rings
Please help me . I'm thinking of buying one to use for marriage suffering and drive as my own car . I drive about 10k a year Am I going to have a lot of problems if I buy a car with miles around 60k ? Where are you Thanks
I got married, was going to buy a Rolls.....new wife suddenly wanted a grand piano instead. Got divorced, now no wife, no piano and can't afford a Rolls!
@@michaelreece458 in many ways these cars are engineered better than any other - but you need RR knowledge - and the tools - you might notice some specialized tools in this video - lots of them
I put a Holley 4-Barrel on my Silver Spur and my company sells the kits to convert them - it's one less headache to worry about - because the real challenge for these cars is the hub bearings - and brakes - and hydraulic suspension - and the steering racks
