The Halo Assault Rifle is one of the most important weapons in the franchise, it is an automatic fire weapon which is good in long battles where a very high rate of fire is required, such as assaults, long defended battles and more. It is controversially known in the first game for its 60 rounds mag and his fire rate acting like a machine gun. The weapon has been revisited and improved through years, it is more accurate with low fire bursts but more lethal against more enemies with a suppressed fire.

One of the most iconic halo weapons that doesn’t change that much thruout the series. I like that they brought back the Halo Reach design for infinite. Also interesting that the 60 round magazine was exclusive to halo 1 and they never brought it back.
yes, the Halo Reach AR model is fantastic and i love they brought it back in Infinite, and the 60 rounds model makes Halo CE more exclusive than it already was

The AR in Reach was far from being "balanced". That version was weak as hell, I haven't seen anyone willingly using it in Reach since you spawn with the magnum too. It's the weakest automatic in the franchise and only serves to make respawns more aggravating since you spawn with a weapon that can't kill. The best tech you can do with the AR in Reach is to press Y to switch to the Magnum.
And before you say it. No, it's not any better pre TU. In fact it might be worse since the strat of 7 bullets and a melee is impossible pre TU due to armor bleeding not being a thing.

yeah that's because i do not own Live Gold and Halo 5 doesn't let use forge or anything else except campaign if I don't have it.
Halo combat evolved and Halo 5 Guardians AR was the best. 1 was a spray AR, while the other was a pretty accurate AR.

only halo5 devs know what they're doing when designing the weapon.
Halo has a vendetta against automatic weapons. None of them are actually viable in any of the campaigns. The infinite AR is the only one that is kind of good enough
Combat Evolved's Assault Rifle would like a word with you... Hell, even the SMG is pretty effective since it's essentially the same gun but dual wieldable.

@@luisangelanguiano2878I say it sounds fine. It's a stock sound effect once again but it's atleast not a bad stock sfx and it definitely sounds better on a beefy pair of headphones.

Halo:CE sounds decent and nostalgic. Halo Reach sounds good. Halo 4 sounds fantastic. Halo 5 and Infinite sound effeminate. They were probably made for babies who are sensitive to dynamic sounds.
I mean technically at least in Infinite the sound is a lot more realistic, because real gun sounds are mostly bass and punch and not a ton of detail - games exaggerate this. They actually recorded all the sounds in Infinite from real firearms.
