Every impact my helmets have taken have been on the face and chin. Would not recommend a 3/4 to anyone who values their teeth or face. If you like the look, go for a Biltwell Lane Splitter, a helmet from Simpson, Ruroc. If you want a modular look at Schuberth, AGV’s Sport Modular, Sedici, Bell, and Scorpion.
Why would you not have a clear shield included when you buy it if it has a smoked shield. Oh, wait to make more money because you have to buy one. And to not include the covers for the sides when you take off the visor is ridiculous. They can keep that helmet. They are screwing the customer by making them buy extra stuff that it should have come with to begin with. Shows how much they think about the customer. Note to self don't buy anything ICON makes.
Ok, fair points, but would you even consider buying it if it included that stuff but the price point was another $100 or so more? I suspect you’d then just be complaining that it’s too expensive at that point. Don’t get me wrong, I hate money grabs too; but believe it or not materials *do* cost these companies money too. Sure they make a lot off of those materials, but my point is, if it came with all the stuff you’re talking about it would cost more and you’d still be complaining.
I get your point but I would imagine most people that buy these are going to run a smoked shield anyways. And it's not like a standard lens/shield you can just swap out like on regular helmets so it's not as easy to include. I do agree though that they should include side pieces for if you take the peak off, but I anticipate again they figure 99% of people that buy this won't be doing that because the main reason for buying a 3/4 like this is that styling.
@@landonfolken03 not to mention, how many people that are buying helmets like this, let alone riding motorcycles in general (with the exception of squids on crotch rockets) are riding at night where a clear shield would make sense any way.
@@pbourdon231 I would buy it if they had put the clear lens on it. When they only give you a dark lens that pretty much only makes the helmet a day helmet only. People do ride at night. So if I wanted to use that helmet during the day I would have to buy the clear lens to switch it out. They totally did it backwards.
@@landonfolken03 Yes a lot of people do use a smoked lens to ride with. But to put a smoked lens on it pretty much makes it a day helmet only. I would say a lot people who ride can only afford one helmet. They totally did it backwards. It should have come with the side covers (extra cost to buy those) and it should have been sold with the clear lens not a smoked. Another cost if you want to use your helmet at night.
Looks a bit cheap tbh. Disappointed in the peak revomal leaving the face shield joints exposed. I hope they plan on selling additional covers without the peak later on.
Icons are neat looking until you realize the shell sizes are absolutely massive and the smaller sizes are just stuffed with foam to make up for it. They feel horrible. Bulky heavy, loud.
If Revzilla sells the product it is a conflict of interest to call this a review. Overview of Features...sure. To call it a review it should be done by someone who is not selling the product and profiting from sales of the product. Really Revzilla?!
Is this a recent issue you are having or is the past 15 years of RevZilla reviews an issue as well? 15 years of helping riders make educated decisions on gear and everybody seems to like what they are doing, but not you. Have you watched a lot of the reviews? Because a healthy chunk of them call out the brands for skimping or not doing good-enough on the designs.
@@patrickmchugh8039 It is a classic conflict of interest even if the reviews contain ain nominal criticism. The publication Consumer Reports is based on this inherent bias. I have no particular problem with Revzillla or the "reviews" except the practice of calling them reviews. Even with a policy of objectivity there will be inherent bias. I didn't make this up...there are reams of peer reviewed study on this subject.
While more-than-DOT is always welcome, RevZilla is a US-based retailer that sells primarily to US-based customers. Watching from overseas is fine, but criticizing them for selling DOT helmets when they are legally required to seems odd …
@@patrickmchugh8039 I fully understand what Revzilla are about, I just wouldn’t be putting my company name behind a product of this nature considering how many safer alternatives that are available for sale in the states that are on par for money and offer real chin protection. If you had almost adult children, would you be putting a lid like this on their heads?
Poor design with chin bar not locking. Icon Airflite same issue at high speeds visor will pop up do to wind releasing it from plastic hook lock. Icon needs to focus more on actual rider comfort. They missed with this 2024 design. Not impressed
Pointless review, fake helmet, during the entire time he keeps saiyng, "this is NOT a real helmet". Throw that in the garbage and bring another product then. Helmets are not fashion acessories, they are the most important part of the protection, you dont use "good looking purple sitbelts" that not hold you properly inside a car.
Check out the ICON Elsinore Helmet and other great products at RevZilla! rvz.la/4c5Iljc
Thanks for the review. That non locking chin bar is a deal breaker. I was considering this helmet right up until that
Im sure they didnt bother since it's not rated and is just a dust guard.

Not Ruroc 😬
👍🏼 I’m kind of attached to my chin.
Ewwww Ruroc...
Yeah this is definitely for a specific style of riding.
@@jcmartinez7527 Their new helmet actually looks kind of promising. The Atlas series was absolute trash though.
@@jcmartinez7527I only mentioned Ruroc because of style similarity. It at least has a solid chin bar.

Thanks for including the head shape in the review with your comments. I think this is the most overlooked aspect of helmet selection.
This would looked great with a gundam paint job.
Same thought. Just add some color
Great look at the helmet Pat!
Looks like the only put the primer coat on and forgot to paint it afterwards.
Looks like a good ebike helmet
Wish ICON would offer more helmet sizes.
Like XXs or 4xl?
Agreed!
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
Just paint it bright gloss white, remove the visor and you're now a storm trooper...
I was looking at this helmet before I bought a Scorpion AT960. Glad I didn't buy the Icon.
I’ve had 3 AT960. Phenomenal helmets. Underrated

They do have side plates available that we mention in the video. But they are sold separately which was a bit of a bummer.
why didn't they make the face plate functional? it's like a -50- 30 bucks top gun now, possibly worse. and no double visor?
there is no price increase on the graphic versions.
Looks likes icon is going for the movie prop look
they have always been
It'll be popular with e-bike terrorists on their Surron's doing wheelies in the middle of the street.
Thats looking DOOOPE
Rather wear a bucket
These kind of fake modulars are a dangerous scam. The Bell Moto 3 that this Icon is ripping off is a lot safer and looks better too.
This thing is a dumpster fire. It’s only worse that it’s only DOT approved.
Icons are neat looking until you realize the shell sizes are absolutely massive and the smaller sizes are just stuffed with foam to make up for it. They feel horrible. Bulky heavy, loud.
I would never, never and ever buy a helmet where the chinbar is NOT a part of the helmet itself!
Looks like something off of Gundam
Lot of stupid decisions by Icon on this one.
To expensive for what it is.
I love icons stuff but seriously? DOT only? I'd be safer with half a watermelon on my head.

If you go down face first you won’t have a face. Please buy a helmet for more than style
