Hi doctor. I am taking Alli for 56 days now and so far have lost 11 pounds. I am doing a low carb, low fat diet. Your advice makes sense. Ive been wanting to increase my fat intake but Alli advertisements stated to take low fat diets. I didn't have any bad side effects but I am realizing that my weight loss was due to the low carb and may be a little from Orlistat. I will increase my intake of healthy fats and see how it works. Thank you so much for this video!
@@jordiesmn Hi! I usually take my share of carbs from vegetables like onions, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, eggplant, mushrooms, spinach and cabbage. There are more vegetables in the low glycemic index list that you may prefer over the ones I mentioned. I don't eat too many fruits but the ones I do eat are avocado and blueberries. And for nuts are walnuts, peanuts, and chia seeds. I eat cheese and add heavy cream to fruits to make some dessert or ice cream. I eat pasta, rice, or pizza once in a while when I crave for them. Just an update, I did increase my fat intake and maintained low carb and it worked well for me so taking Alli was no longer necessary. Hope this helps!
I was on orlistat scared to eat anything with fat in but i was so miserable all the time because I couldnt eat nice things, only rabbits food, and of course, the orlistat wasnt working. Then one evening my partner gave me ONE small piece of his pizza to go with my salad. Wow!!! I was in the toilet 9 times after, amd it wasnt pretty! If anything orlistat just puts you off eating anything yummy. Therefore you play safe and stick with boring diet food.
This is SO helpful - thank you! I've been going back and forth about ordering this drug and was really put off by the fact I'd have to eat a low fat diet (which here in the UK all the NHS informtion says you have to). I avoid ultra-processed foods so refuse to have low fat' versions' of foods (they always contain strange additives and/or added sugar). Hearing that my mostly-mediterranean diet with its healthy fats is a good match for Orlistat is great news!
@Sazyyduck ok. That was kinda how I felt like it was going to react. The fact that it don't kill your appetite, I knew it was probably far fetched to lose weigh consistently. 3 pills a day n losing minimum weight doesn't really seem worth it. Thanks alot, I appreciate it!!
Thank you for the video, very helpful, but this is everything my Dr refused to tell me, that I accidently by pure luck stumbled into doing by myself. Im 100% going to take one of those fibre supliments though. Thats a good idea.
There have been rare reports of severe liver injury, if you experience things like jaundice, dark urine, light-colored stools, or liver pain, let your doctor know immediately.
Well that is true, that there is no reason to take Alli if you eat a low fat diet. But then again, if you're eating a low fat diet, why would you want to take Orlistat? You don't want to start eating more fat than you are just so you can block some of the calories that you wouldn't be eating in the first place.
Hello doctor, I've been taking xenical for 1 week now bit sadly i haven't dropped any weight, i am in fact following a low-fat diet, i don't exercise due to my packed work schedule, so if followed your advice i should try to incorporate some fat in my diet. Untill now i only had 1 oily accident. Also does a no accidents means that orlistat not working??
Not necessarily, and don't just incorporate it, but have it replace other macronutrients, like having more fat and less carbohydrate. Also keep in mind orlistat does not always work for everyone.
Just been prescribed these and I was told repeatedly by the Dr and then the pharmacist - ONLY take with meals! I tend to not eat breakfast so I'll only be taking 2 a day.
This medication didn’t help me at all i had no side effects other than bloating most of my diet is carbs even I change my diet to more fats it did nothing to me i even had to take stoll softeners all the time 🤦🏻♀️
Why do we even need these pills if we're on low-fat diet anyway? So far it's not working for me. Maybe I need to add a little bit of fat into my diet so I can use these pills? I went to a Chinese restaurant for dim sum and took 2 orlistat pills and several hours later I got a big puddle of orange oil in the toilet bowl. Just goes to show how greasy Chinese food is. I did not have any issues with BM or accidents in my underwear. These pills are useful only if you eat a fatty cheat meal. Otherwise there's no point. I am already doing 80 minutes of walking/running on a treadmill every day. I actually gained 2 pounds in the first week and lost those 2 pounds in the second week. I will continue and see what happens. I want to lose 40 pounds and I hope it doesn't take more than a year.

Hello, just wanted to get an update on your weight lost? I have a prescription getting filled, and I was curious was it worth it. Thanks!
@bosscorleone3392 hi, well I didn't stay on orlistat very long. It felt too unpredictable and my weight wasn't really shifting so I stopped.

Thank you for the video, very helpful, but this is everything my Dr refused to tell me, that I accidently by pure luck stumbled into doing by myself.

Hello Dr.
Orlistat as advised blocks fat. Please advise what medication blocks carbohydrates?
Thanks
White Kidney Bean Extract and maybe Fiber. But I think it's a small percentage.
Acarbose, but you need a prescription, unfortunately.
Anybody have good experience with carbose?
My first day of taking Orlistrat. Come back and give my experience.
Hi.whats the update I'm prescribed by mu doctor and soon going to start
Doesn't these unpleasant side effects go away with time as you get used to it?
Very informative, thank you! I just started xenical yesterday… so far so good 😊
How much did you lost till now?
Very helpful!
Hello doctor
Does orlistat cause serious liver or kidney problems?
There have been rare reports of severe liver injury, if you experience things like jaundice, dark urine, light-colored stools, or liver pain, let your doctor know immediately.
Helpful

I’m on intermittent fasting. Can I take only when I eat. And not 3 times a day?

I take it before eating fatty junk food knowing darn well I'm going to have diarrhea in about a day and a half. 😂
And explain with keto diet
Your limiting yourself even more whilst on orlistat because you need carbs with orlistat
breastfeeding mom can take
No !!!!!!!
Low fat and orlistat is such a useless thing.
But then adding fat is adding calories you weren't eating in the first place.

I think most weight loss tablets are to aid people who aren't quite good at following strict diets.
