When he says "after knowing my kids now", the thing that gets me is that NOW HE KNOWS HOW YOUNG A 12-YEAR-OLD IS. Looking at his own daughters, he can see that no matter how much Mary Kay tried to gaslight him into thinking he was an adult who was freely participating in something, he WAS a child. He could look at his children and SEE how young a 12-year-old is.

That's how many victims realise how manipulated they were- seeing their own kids and understanding whatis appropriate as an adult. It's exactly how Michael Jackson's victims saw how they had been manipulated and tricked.(And people who invalidate victims by claiming they should have come forward sooner are wrong.)

It seems clear that he wasn’t close, he was fully aware at this point. But it’s complicated when you have children and a whole life together, on top of the abuse. It seems like he may have been trying to find his way out.

@@YoSoFunnyx3Yes. I was groomed and abused by the same man 10 years older from 14-23 and it took me taking mushrooms and a 3 hour shower putting myself in his shoes to see what an evil, disgusting, predator he is and always was. I would NEVER hurt or abuse anyone, let alone a teenager who's just looking for love and acceptance. It's so sad and f*cked up the way groomers can literally brainwash you. I truly thought he loved and cared of me from when I was 14, but after leaving I realize I literally had stockholm syndrome from spending 24/7 almost 10 years with a man who terrorized me nearly every day. It’s even more disgusting when you find out that the first time she actually met and interacted with him at the school HE WAS IN KINDERGARTEN, absolutely disgusting, if you look into how he was when she was in jail, he was definitely going through it I hope he is at some peace now. He got no justice whatsoever, his family tried to sue the school district for what happened and lost. It’s even more disgusting that when her husband found out at the time, he confronted HIM A CHILD, not his wife.
If you look up her father, he did the same thing she did as well. She definitely used him to get out of jail, she wrote letters to him and tried to contact him saying that if they got married she wouldn’t be in jail anymore. Right after this interview they divorced but he ended up going back to her when she was sick, she constantly held guilt and power over him

So lets say a child persues an adult, normally that adult doesn't end up sleeping with said child no matter how much they push a relationship. She definitely had to think about being attracted to him, to sleep with him, a 12 year old at the time she got pregnant the first time and 13ish year old the second time she got pregnant (i think he could've been 13 by the time his daughter was born in prison and after her sentencing she was only in prison for 3 months then slept with him immediately when she got out of prison and got caught in a car with him by an officer which sent her back to prison because she was banned from seeing him again. She then ended up in prison for 7 years and was pregnant from him again after that moment out of prison. So he could've maybe been 14 depending on when he had a birthday but probably 13 the second time she got pregnant

Yeah. He lost his childhood, so he didn’t know what one should look like until he could compare his own upbringing with that of his children. I was sexually abused as a kid. It took me until my late teens/early twenties to fully digest how messed up it was that I held myself accountable for that abuse, and all it took was spending some time around children who were the same age I was when I was abused. I’d interact with a kid, and they were so clearly a kid in my eyes that it clicked, “how could anyone anyone treat this child like an adult, and justify it?”

She still didn't like to be confronted with the truth that he was a young boy, she was his teacher (even if he wasn't in her class at the time), and that she should have never entertained it let alone pursued it. She was delulu and created her own universe not just to cope with knowing she raped a child but to pretend it never even happened that way, that he wanted her and he was not a child. Because in her mind she romanticised him as older and interested in her...which made it this whole love story where age was irrelevant. It's fucking gross and I am so glad he woke up to her. I mean, a 13-year-old boy is a minor, a child, not old enough or has the brains to consent to a relationship with an adult regardless of whether he wants it. At that age you don't know what you want nor are you ready to have an adult relationship in any sense of the word.
Vili deserved much better than being at 14 years old changing diapers, leaving school and being harassed by journalists for a situation that he did not choose. In addition to carrying the eternal guilt that his abuser went to jail and I'm sure she never let him forget it or get over it.

24:43 “We were just, … even when HE said 80 and a 100, and I was like thinking ur so right. I don’t wanna live another day without you either.” 😬😬 She changed the narrative right there to say he said it to use for her advantage defending herself. Don’t get what she means by 80 and a 100 but it’s not the excuse she thinks it is to get with a student. Idk how she thought it sounded any better to change it to him saying it like it doesn’t sound any better from ur 13 year old student!

Very much this. My child just turned 10 and it made me realise just how f*cked up I was treated by my father (because I remember I was around 10yo and being called a b*tch, a stupid wh*re, told that I “ruined the family”, etc) (though according to my older sisters it had been going on since I was a baby, but I have zero memories before age 10).
Seeing our children reach the age when something bad happened to us can be a “breaking point” of sorts, like finally realising just how bad it actually was - because you know you’d never do/allow that to be done to your own child. And it can make you cut contact with those who had hurt you because you are suddenly so worried that your child will have to go through the same things you did, and you don’t want them to suffer like that.

She stole his innocence and put her selfish, depraved desires over what was best for him. THIS. IS. NOT. OKAY. I REPEAT: THIS. IS. NOT. OKAY. When people try to frame this case as an epic story of forbidden love or a dream come true for any teenage boy, it makes me sick and makes me Feral. This case was Gross and what makes it worse is that even though she got locked up, she had her claws so deep into Vili that he stayed with her after she got out. She manipulated him and brought innocent children into the world with him just so SHE could be happy. Absolutely repulsive and I'm glad that he severed ties with her before her passing. I hope he's doing well and receiving the mental help that he needs to cope with what happened to him, not just for his sake but for the sake of his kids. This doesn't have to be generational trauma. I had an abuse situation somewhat similar where it was clear pedophilic abuse but because he was the young-er (21, not a child certainly an adult with culpability ) lover boy-esque abuser people turned a blind eye. Over the years I stopped and had moments where I was like "He's gross, and weird, and I don't enjoy when he touches me" but I'd rationalize it and compartmentalize those feelings. One day all of those little thoughts hit me and my world felt like it had shattered. I can only imagine how jarring that would be had I MARRIED and HAD CHILDREN with my abuser. I feel for him.

Sometimes kids can develop an "attraction" to a stable role model and confuse it with being in love.

Right? It almost sounds like the grooming started then in 2nd grade, which is why she didn't want to ack owledge she was his teacher. Hiding in the closet so the could look up her skirt when she went past? Idk if that even makes sense because how would they see up a skirt from inside a closet? It sounds more like something she made up and told him that he said it, and she has said it so much that he believed he _did_ say it. It's kinda like how...when you talk about a memory from when you were really young, but it isn't your memory as such because you were too young to remember it, rather it's something your parents told you about and probably other people too, so you internalise it as an event that happened to you andbthat becomes the memory...so it's more a memory of what your parents told you happened than of the actual event. The difference is most people trust their parents memory of events and there are usually photographs attached to the memory...but Mary was a grooming, delusional pdfile.
Even the talk about when he asked how old she was going to be when she died shows she was delulu and twisting the narrative to whatever she wanted to hear because to him he asked hold old she was gonna live to...but to her he was asking about her 100 yo grandmother?! And I bet she did that with prettybmuch every conversation they had (I have heard accounts by male pdfs talking about how this little child looked at them a certain way, or flirted with them, etc, it's the same thing...living in a reality of their own making...it's terrifying). It's like she heard a completely different question. Just like in her mind _he_ was the one who did the pursuing, rather than her having groomed a little boy! Hell, in her mind he wasn't even a child...which is why she didn't like the interviewer specifically calling him a young boy or saying she was his teacher.

29:57 I was groomed by a teacher who I legally married and the way she talks about the fact that she made an “adult” decision to **make this go away** by marrying him is exactly what I went through. Then the way she won’t let him answer about whether staying together was right FOR HIM shows that she’s aware that he’s aware of the REALITY.
I spent 15 years of my adolescence and early adulthood with my abuser, and I don’t know what Villi is going through now, but I’m 43 and I’ve been free for almost a decade and I’m not ok. I’ve since become a doctor and have real relationships and I probably LOOK ok but I’m not.
The reason why he’s being nice to her is partly fear, partly bc he knows his girls are watching, but MOSTLY to keep from going insane. The way he says he loves himself now and he’s built from all his life’s experiences, so he can’t let the fact that this is so horrific get into his mind too deeply.
One of the tragic things of being brought into a very bad situation as a kid is that no matter how old you get, some part of you always feels like YOU are bad. A girl in my high school was preyed on by one of the music teachers. It started when she was 14. During the “relationship” he and his wife had a baby, and he got the student to babysit. It was discovered on a music department field trip (I don’t know how, but I do know they were seen together on the trip quite a bit, and she was helping him pick out a present for the wife).
After it all hit the fan, he was fired and charged, and had to register as a s** offender. The wife divorced him and took their kid, and he didn’t get visitation. He also can’t work as a teacher, and I believe the student’s parents took out a restraining order.
The saddest part was that the student was out of school for a while after and said it was because she was afraid she would be blamed for him being fired, because he was a popular teacher. Even worse, she wasn’t wrong: there were people who blamed her, at least initially. By the time she returned to school, it had been pretty much made clear that that attitude would not be accepted. I still feel bad for her, though.

It sucks that it probably took him having kids for him to truly understand how little control he had in his life because of her. How vulnerable he actually was and how cruel she was.

    32:11 “you’re presuming I pursued it”
    YES YOU DID
Even now, you can tell she leads this relationship. She has always been in control and Villi has been the pet, the child, the abused.

The whole interview, he has the 'kill me now' vibe. He doesn't want to be there, he doesnt want to even sit next to her. I hope he's healing right now and have peace in himself.

As a 27-year-old teacher, once you are a teacher of a student, you will always be a teacher to that student. Just because they are no longer in your classroom, doesn't change that they are like 12!!!!!! Currently gagging listening to her trying to change the wording, trying to make herself look better, and trying to convince them that this situation was okay.

As a 30 year old former student whenever I see old teachers I still view them as my teacher and address them as I did as a student. This whole case just boggles my mind.

Right there with you! I worked with children for years (daycare, tutoring, piano instruction). I could never look at a 12 yr old and think romance.

Agreed! My teacher from third grade saw me six years ago at Whole Foods and she embraced me the exact same way she did back then. I was in my mid 20s!! It was the most wholesome thing. This woman is a predator for sure. A child liking her sexually should’ve been a red flag for her to bring to his parents. If that was true.
