I keep a similar set up not only in my pack but also on my motorcycle. A remote breakdown etc. can put you in a bad spot if you’re not ready for it. Especially since I almost always go out solo.
I was the same. I ended up carrying my winter setup around nearly all year. So I said I would make a kit to do for a day hike that I could just add to as the time of year dictated.
I like the set up but I would definitely replace the Gear Hammock with an SOL Emergency Bivvy since the focus is survival. And add a pair of socks if there’s room.
@@inforestsandlands Glad you already got it. Though the stand alone Shelter Kit would a better home for the Bivvy. Do you agree? You could open it up for all your shelter needs instead of having to take off the bladder and dig for the Bivvy. The spare space in the water bladder could be replaced by a 2 packs of instant oatmeal, 2 Breakfast Bars, and 2 Powdered Drink mixes. Enough for an overnighter.
It could well be, brother. But like I mentioned in the video, I am rarely separated from my pack. Maybe in my canoe pack, that would be a good option. There is another 4 videos lined up where you can see what's in the rest of my pack. Hopefully it gives a more fuller picture of the kit as it's made as a whole unit. I leave the blanket/s in the water bladder as it allows quick access for me to get them should someone in the group need them. I like to have super quick access to any rain clothes or emergency equipment. It's a lot quicker to open the lid of the pack and pull the blankets out. If yah get me?
Would a good addition be a few hanks of cordage for ridgelines and such? I think you've mentioned them in previous posts, but good to reiterate in a pouch like this. :)
One would be happy to have that kit if you had to hold up overnight. Smart and lightweight. Good stuff Joe. Thanks for sharing!.
I like that gear- hammock 👍
Me too. It's been in my kit since i got it. It's a great one to have, especially when out with the kids.
Very nice simple gear. I always carry a hammock and tarp in my 1-3 day packs. Lovely 😊
Great video Joe. Glad you not only love the hammock but that our Ridgeline Level is giving you some fun times too! 👌😁
Never leave home without it. It's almost a good luck charm at this stage
Good stuff. Napsack hammocks are great 👍🏼
Agreed. Super underrated

Nice setup. My go to shelter system is very similar and I add varying insulation for different seasons if sleeping out. All the best, Andy
That's the best way to be 👌🏼 thanks for watching
What a great little set up! Cheers for sharing!
High speed , low drag 🤜🔥🤛. Thanks for watching
Cool. And minimalistic. Love it
Thanks my man 🤜🔥🤛
That's such a tidy pack up, I definitely need to upgrade & downsize mine, as grand as it is, it's just not small enough x

Good shout! I carry one in the water bladder of my bag. But I think I could get one in the rear sleeve of this pouch. Thanks again 🤜🔥🤛

A very good suggestion 👌🏼 I used the ones in this, and honestly just have forget to replace then
