When I saw the tool, first glance, I thought it would be impossible to restore it... And at the end of the video, I was baffled 😱 awesome work, mate 🥳🥳
I liked the minimal amount of welding new metal. It was just enough to freshen up the beak or wire hook. There will be more impact to the story that old tool tells now with only killing the rust and a cleaning. The patina of time and age is the soul of old things.
Amazing restoration. It would have been easy to accidentally break something at this stage of corrosion. You have great patience. What does the stamped lettering say on the cutters?
Nice restoration. If you want to take this to the next level in terms of views I would grind out the surface add some filler paste, sand and paint. It's more impressive if you go from ancient to new.
Good going on the efford taken to restore this thing but come one man, you're not even restoring all the pits and bumps from the rust thatve eaten away the metal? That's just dissatisfactory.
Ok I'll be the one to say it: great work, but that eally was too far gone and not worth the effort to restore. But, it's a video getting you views...so...
I was literally thinking the same thing… for 10 bucks you get a new one that actually works 😂 But hey: got close to 100k views - delivering the creator more than 10 bucks for sure ❤
I think all physical bits of history should be preserved. It’s his time, tool, effort and skills….so… well done sir. Sone guy may be watching this on his big screen, his grandfather could walk in an say, “my granddad used to use one of those on the ranch it worked in (insert year and state). If history wasn’t meant to be preserved dinosaurs would be collected, there wouldn’t be genealogy or history. Can you imagine walking into the museum of American history and there is nothing, no flag, no space rocket, no Indian artifacts. History is worth preserving. Even you are susceptible to the offers of history. Pls don’t besmirch those that save it.
I hope you enjoyed my video! Subscribe to the channel and watch more!
wonderfull - reusing the old screws and nuts give the restored tool its soul!
Wow, that is amazing. Even though the wire cutter appeared to be too far gone and pitted by rust, you got it working again. Great work.
This is a restoration that preserves the character and history of the item, and is a pleasure to watch.
Wow , can't believe you restored this , good work.
Thanks!
That looked ready for the tip - what a rescue that was and it looks great 👍👍👍👍🙏
Real nice gift for a convict who has a negative attitude about being in prison.

Incredible patience restoring something like this... I could never do that!
i really dont like when it stays craterish. Why you don't use anything for holes ? That would be better if it was smooth/flat
All you do is clean stuff
this is the kind of restoration i watch, a REAL restoration. not like those morons who think rust can be rinsed off in warm water
~ fraudsters 😠
Sure didn't expect this result. I was afraid that this was too far gone even for you. Excellent work! 👏
I really thought there would be nothing left to work with, and I don't see how you got the nuts off the bolts. Quite a good video.

Brilliant but you need to demonstrate the tool at the end to complete the video.
Skills💯
It’s perfect
Awesome

the company producing these tools, vogel&noot wartberg, is still in business.
Excellent struggle.... ... Extra effort nice work 🎉🎉🎉
Well done!
You work is beautiful.
My father used to say,
"Some things ain't worth fixing".
He obviously never met you.
The hair spring would have been fixed somehow, else it would get easily lost when in use.

Thought spring came out when u pulled bolt out!?
So, where do you find this badly rusty things you restore to beauty and usefulness again?
Amazing restoration. It would have been easy to accidentally break something at this stage of corrosion. You have great patience. What does the stamped lettering say on the cutters?
Excellent 👍
Cool texture! Great job!!

Do you think those wire cutters.Would still work?

Okay you made it work, needs a spot on the wall for display of "old" tools.
Feels incomplete.... maybe a filler, then a shine (or paint), then new nuts & screws would've perfected this.
Cool 😊
Tem coisas que é melhor jogar fora...
Love your work and when a new video drops.

What happens if you rinse and repeat the electrolysis 50 more times?
Not sure that I'd have left the surface as pitted as it was

Yes sure but you get money for the video and you might also have fun while doing it. So i think it is probably worth doing it ;)

What a complete waste of time
You do exact same thing every video. So much pitting…… Watch odd tinkering for a real pro.
