    We completely understand his emotions.
We walked beside a Tiger (the furry one) once guiding his path with our touch.
We also call it one of our best life experiences. Highly emotional and humbling.

A lot of people were taken by surprise by his death. He loved life to the fullest and did a lot of crazy things...
One of Jimmy Hall's mentions : "When I jump in out there and see how clear it is, how blue the water is, and all the sharks, it just takes my breath away every time I jump in there"

It's like this. If you have a gun and see a deer but are not hungry, the deer will be perfectly safe. If, however, you have a gun, see a deer, and are hungry, that deer better hit the road as fast as it can.
What I am saying is this. The shark clearly was not hungry, but curious. What if you had met a hungry shark of that size? Your experience would have been emotional, but I doubt the outcome would have been the same.
Moral of the story: They aren't always hungry, but when they are...

      G. MacDonald You are so wrong, sharks evolved without seeing humans so they don't know what we are or that we could be eaten by a shark. They don't see us as pray, they are just very curious because they have never seen a human. Sometimes the sharks feel threatend and thats when they attack but that is extremly rarly.

I have so much respect for this man right now. people do not realize that sharks do not look to man as a source of food, but the vast majority of attacks are simply a curious attempt at trying to figure out what you are. Most attacks are simply a bite. If a shark were trying to kill a person, then an animal that large would most certainly be able to carry through with that attempt.
Sharks are one of the most vital and interesting attributes to our oceans. I'm glad this man realizes it.
    :)

May 9th, 2007 will be remembered as a very sad day.
Adventurer Jimmy Hall was killed in a tragic accident north of the Arctic Circle. Jimmy was in a very remote area near Sam Fjord on Baffin Island in Canada filming a documentary on the region that included base jumping from the incredibly harsh mountains. Jimmy died during one of those base jumps. The area is so remote, it's only accessible by plane, snowmobile, and then dogsled

Kaiden and Bailee asked me about great whites today. couldnt think of anything better than to show them Jimmys video. They dont remember being at his funeral but I will always tell them to live life to the fullest and teach them of a prime example. Mahalo Jimmy. Except when you guys let Kaiden in the water with the sharks and no cage. Hes seven now and whenever he meets someone new he tells them he swam with sharks as a baby.... so he thinks you were pretty awesome.

It's actually "the tiny electric impulses that a body emits with every motion, blinking and heartbeats alike." They attack a panicked animal out of instinct, hence your misconception that a high heart rate forces it to feed. Usually these attacks are by a confused shark.
The man has interacted with many sharks before. I'm sure his heart was racing, but in excitement. His experience simply made him know how to behave around these amazing creatures in order to reduce the chances of an attack.

Sharks, especially and essentially the Great White sharks, have the ability to perceive heart beats from organisms in near encounters small distances. I believe Jimmy Hall is able to be in waters with sharks simply because he can control his fears and then retain a low pulse. Sharks for that reason, wont see him as a potential treat or meatball.

Jimmy grew up in the ocean and is gonna end up in the ocean. In the form of shark poop. Oops guess not. The body of American adventurer Jimmy Hall was sent home to Hawaii from Clyde River, Nunavut, where he died while base jumping , his agent confirmed to CBC News.
Hall, 41, died May 9 2007 in an accident on a mountain near Clyde River, a hamlet off Clyde Inlet on the coast of northeastern Baffin Island about 3 months after this was filmed.

He had a wetsuit on that was a very odd pattern and colour. Big animals like this frequent the waters near my home due to a seal colony on a nearby island. Its believed that black wetsuits confuse such sharks and they may mistake us for regular prey. But we are skin and bone compare to a seal or big fish. When they bite a surfer, board, scuba person - they often realise you have nothing to offer and spit you out. But that in itself is still usually fatal given their size.
