Hey Adventure Dex, still remember your first video, I’ve been off these Jeep vids for some years now, since my Jeep craze has waned. But glad I see your still doing the vids, I still own 3 Jeeps. Keep Jeepin’.👋
Is there a part number for these? All I find have only two supports and i really like the plug and play for wiring without the magnet activation system.
Seems like everyone on UA-cam that is sponsored by rough country is not showing that these steps also have an additional sensor that is on the inside of the doors which looks really ugly and they were definitely not plug and play
Thank you for the video! I decided to buy one after watching your video, but it took me close to 4 hours. It would've taken lot less with the proper tools.
Are you bahamian?? I watched until the end and to my surprise I saw the license plate😂😂 I was like WTH!!! This the 2nd install vid I watched and I gatta say great content. You explain and break down everything makes me believe I can do it lol!! Got a new subscriber here #242🇧🇸
any chance you can suggest what cable to tap into on the running boards to add a switch so one can manually extend and retract them when the doors are off, or when using tube doors? Since the doors are removed, the control unit needs a trigger to retract and extend. I just dont know which cable to tap into. Keep up the good work.. a few of us here and many online are asking the same question so I think you might find a good audience for this mod. Cheers...
Hello David how r u doing today finally it's worked out on Jeep jl. For jeep jl no need to tap any wires electric side is step is activating by using vehicle remote lock and unlock
Thanks for the video. It's been about 9 months... can you provide an update? still like the steps? I am considering these or the XL from AMP Research. Thanks.
I have these steps and like them. The only issue is when you remove the doors, you remove the door harness and they no longer work. Amp Research has a switch that allows you to activate the steps manually, for this reason I wish I would have gone with the Amp Research.
Hmmm... Seems like you would get debris in the sliding mechanism (rocks, gravel, etc...) that might interfere over time. Guess time will tell for those that live in places with lots of road salt or for those that drive on beaches or back roads.
I have purchased AOR power side step kit for my Wrangler JL 2018 (right hand drive). After installing this the steps functioning for front left and right doors correctly..but when i opened the rear left door the left side step is not functioning..but it functions the right side step. And when i opened the rear right door it functions the left side step.. instead of the right step..so how do i correct this issue...all the wirings have done correctly.. Hey Dex! Love the channel man! I have 0 mechanical experience/knowledge… do you think I can still do this installation (even if it takes me more time to install it than you)?
I've seen a good deal of videos on Rough Country components but I also regularly see people warning others away from the brand. What's the real story? Good budget brand and people are just bashing it to make themselves feel better about how much more they paid for a similar add on or cheap components only suited for sitting in the driveway looking pretty?
Another great informative video, you sure make the installation look easy. nice job. looks good. You have a Safe Merry Christmas, try not to get sunburned wile we freeze our asses up here. Hah Hah
Happy Holidays Jeepers!! SMASH that like button!

Thanks for this informative video. I have been wanting to know more about these steps. It’s on my radar to buy! Thanks!

Looks neat for a warm climate. Up here it would freeze solid to the Jeep lol. Winter sucks

Great video!! ¡¡Feliz Navidad!!🎄 🎅
Great video! Merry Christmas
I like how this one has 3 legs, but sucks how they don't cover the under the door part. Looks funky.
How big of a tire can you run with those? Looks like it gets really close to the back wheel when extended.
I’m interested if it works for the JL 2 Door. It would help my short wife.
This is the retractable side steps shortie twin cabin enthusiast are looking for.
Dex, do you know what happened with these steps? The link in the description is dead.
I can only conclude that this particular part for this application has been discontinued.
Thank you buddy and well done

I'm looking for a 8 bolt to frame curved tube step. For a 95 probably need to have a shop order it put it on. My luck.
Yeah!! What’s gonna happen when you take the door off?????
Top video Dex.... greets Herman from Holland

Why did they discontinue these? Web link is dead. They only show a version with two swing arms now
Another great video 👏
Thanks brother. Happy holidays
@@adventuredex is it safe to stand on in the up position?
That’s a great question. It seems sturdy but haven’t really tried

Definitely!
good stuff dude!!
I can't see the product information I wanna buy one
What infotainment system is that.
How do they work with the doors off?
They dont. I'm trying to find a solution where I can use a switch. Amp research includes a switch to resolve this issue.
I am trying to decide between the rough country steps or the AMP set.
Same. I like that these are cheaper and they come out more.
You have the ultimate mall crawler.
I never know if this is meant to be insulting or not 🤔🤔🤔
@@adventuredex not at all brother. I wouldn't be subbed if it were.

Rough Country is local to my area and it's very popular here. Everyone loves them.
Was excited until I see no Gladiator version.
They do have a gladiator version now. Goes for $1,200
@@Lyudtaru Nice, might have looked at the newest, and they have an option for 2024. Might be a good option for me.
