Every time you mention the price that this shop charged you for those easy parts, that you could had installed yourself, all I can think off is more jeep parts lol.
I know next to nothing about vehicle modding but I replaced my tail lights on my 08 jk in the middle of winter and it took me like 5 minutes for each one. My fiance replaced my radio headset with a touch screen and it took him 30 minutes. Most of these mods you can do yourself for WAY less than the $300+ shops.
I have no doubt that most people, and even I, can do most of these mods themselves. I just didn't care to, and was already at the shop for the gauge cluster and camera.
People get over it with what he paid for installs. San Diego CA is expensive no matter what you're doing, so I'm not surprised. Also who knows what his income is, for some people it's literally just not worth it to use their time working on installs. Also some people just don't feel comfortable doing that stuff. I would argue, it is a dis-service to those who may not actually be able to install and need assistance to know what is a fair price for installation. $350 for taillights is a rip off. $30 is more appropriate and that is what people should have been informed..

nice additions. i’d suggest not selling your original parts immediately after putting on something new. you never know how long amazon stuff will last and if it’s your daily driver you can’t go far without working lights. but i’ve bought 1000’s of dollars of accessories there and haven’t had too many issues.

Wow. I was shock that you bit the bullet on the digital gauges swap. I just got my 2016 JKU Rubicon, and not all are amazon, but the top 5 items I have swapped was the stock radio to Stinger Heigh10. I have to say without this video I did not realize that they have digital gauges upgrade, the gauges are not really bothering me. Secondly the awful headlights! OMG. I'm also switching them to KC Lite gravity 7 , so many little other upgrades included, Grab Bar, Door pockets, Rear door extension etc.
Is this a joke? There are so many cool mods you can do to a Jeep, both inexpensive and quite pricey, but I have never seen such an absurd collection of cheap quality enhancements in all my life, but this video is entertaining in an ironic way.
I installed The J Pro and the VanTop late this summer. I really love them both and I am waiting on the K1 companion radio head unit to the J Pro. The J Pro is so very useful far beyond just eye candy.
Jeep must have finally listened to owners. My 2021 rubicon actually came with MOLLE straps built into the back of the front seats. It was a super cool surprise.
Dang 350 for headlight install. I just swapped mine out in 10 minutes after watching a 2 minute UA-cam video. Like 4 screws and some plastic tabs and that’s it
To each their own. I understand people wanting to install parts themselves. That was me once. In retrospect, I guess I could have saved some bucks by installing the headlights and taillights myself. But I don't regret trading the total installation fee for the total amount of time.
You could have save nearly $1000 by installing everything yourself.. shop installation rate defeats the purpose of saving... be careful about the throttle controller, i had one for a year until it failed.. now the throttle control put my jeep in limp mode when there is a strong CB radio signal.. it is very dangerous.. if a truck on the highway us a cb signal it can disable your jeep in real time and you can crash. I have removed my throttle controller.. there are lots of cool stuff for the jeep you can grab from amazon..but many of them are very poor quality.. i live up north where we have extreme cold weather and salty roads..Most aftermarket cheap headlights don't last here up north.. ive got a set that only last 2 weeks due to cold. The hallo color on the ride side did not match the left side hallo when temperature was dropping, also some headlight brands are yellowing under the sun...they are made of cheap poly plastic. Like you mentionned, the return policy is great but only if the stuff you buy on amazon are returnable. Some items are sold by third party sellers and they are much more difficult to return.. they often located in china and you need to pay for the return label... so always make sure you order from a true amazon seller with prime service and not some third party seller.

So you can wire in the halos to daytime running lights or your running lights, and they will automatically come on in the last setting you had them on. Pretty simple mod.
Without the spare mounted on the back, you will notice how dirty your rear window gets. Jeeps are boxes, so the periptery creates a vacuum at the back and sucks road dirt onto the surface. The rear-mounted spare breaks up the flatness and reduces aerodynamic drag.
$11 color matched adhesive patch for the seat. I bought a lot of different shades and picked the one that didn't match at all. My mechanic then installed this patch for $410.

I bought $2700 in parts, and paid the installer $1200. The gauge cluster alone was $1100. That was also my reason for going to the installer, since I didn't feel like removing the dash myself. This video has also yielded me thousands of dollars in commissions and ad revenue. At least some of that traffic is coming from the active comments thread, so thank you for your feedback!

I bought the car used with Linglong Crosswind mud tires, which looked great, but were loud and didn't ride smoothly. I upgraded to the Michelin Defender LTX all-terrains that are shown here, and they are so much better on the road.
Don't get an ultrasonic rodent repeller. They don't work and piss off neighbours and their pets. Get those small electroshock pads and install them instead they work like an electric fence and are way better from my experience.
For me, it was the weight, bulk, and rear visibility, but I understand not everyone is willing to wait for a tow truck if they get a flat. I don't plan to go off-road or to remote areas, but will pack my spare in my trunk (or take one of my other vehicles) if I change my mind.
Decals are the most expensive add on. A USA flag, Star of David, funny Trump haired punisher skull, and an infidel badge cost me an $8500 repair bill due to keying by left wing vandals. The right dashcam system will also record motion, front, back, and sides, for 24 hours after IGN off.
$63 dollars to replace two tail lights that business is ripping you off it takes 5 minutes two screws to replace a tail light. Its called plug and play its that easy

Both those brake lights literally take 10 minutes to install stop giving your money to that place they're ripping you off.

Just a heads up. DOT headlights have a vertical cut off so they don't blind drivers coming at you. Those didnt look like they had the cutoff

A 2011 came up locally and I wondered how useful it was as a daily driver. It must have a following to have so many useful aftermarket items.
Honestly, it would only be a great daily if you do little highway driving. I only use mine for short distances.
